So the hotel is great, beautiful and all that ... However during our Saturday night stay the entire building was impacted by an outage on their HVAC system and the rooms were hot, humid and had no AC. No fix happened during our stay and made it very very uncomfortable. I think this needs to be addressed because we didn't pay over $500 for one night to have one of the worst sleeping experiences ever. We were taking cold showers every 15 minutes to keep cool. You can make this right by offering us a complimentary Saturday night when this problem is resolved.

May 04, 2025 · Johann EspinolaWe had to stay at W while our house goes through renovations. While we are very familiar with the hotel, we never stayed before and liked it a lot. Hotel is going through renovations right now and new rooms will be a major upgrade- we saw it ourselves. Staff are all amazing - had great and genuine encounters with Kelly (guest experience manager), front desk, porter, valet, cleaning, engineer, hotel manager and more that unfortunately I could not catch the names. I would strongly recommend due to this location and staff. Ps: we always liked Halifax and would recommend to try if you are staying at W.
May 08, 2025 · Eren OzekiciThe hotel’s location and suite view are amazing, and that alone made my stay enjoyable and a wonderful experience. The staff were very welcoming. However, there’s room for improvement, such as replacing the carpet, enhancing sound insulation, and including breakfast as part of the stay package. Overall, I feel I received excellent value for the price I paid.
Dec 27, 2024 · Ahmed Al-ShaerVery bad experience with processing of payments and billing authorizations. I had two separate reservations for the same weekend at this location. I checked in and was informed that I would only be charged for the night of the first nights stay to include incidentals. Come to find out after checking in, I was charged triple the amount instead of original fee. I informed the manager at the hotel who stated that shouldn’t have happened and they would have to wait till I check out to close out the room and release the authorization. The next day I had to check out and check back in since my reservations were back to back in the same room. When I went to check in, I was told I have to allow an additional authorization of for that night. I was disappointed because I was already charged the entire amount for the weekend and was not expecting to pay over 3X for two nights. ( one night which was at Government rate). I was informed I would only be authorizing the amount for the room and taxes. Then an hour later after allowing the charge on my debit card, I was charged and additional $150.00 as a deposit according to the manager. Which I was not advised about until I checked my account. I paid over $1100 in authorizations on two nights at this location that should have only come out to Approximately $593.+- with valet. I was finally charged the correct amounts after successfully checking out days later and all the authorizations are still pending. I am completely unsatisfied with this whole situation and it ruined my experience at this location, and ruined my vacation with family because it took away more money than we had allotted for our trip.
Jan 28, 2025 · Nicholas FaradyYes, location is amazing. Gorgeous views. Fantastic walkability to restaurants and shops. Overall, the staff were friendly and helpful. That is about it. Everything else was disappointing. We had 2 connecting rooms for 6 nights. The water pressure in the shower is awful. Rooms are very dated and dingy. Carpets and furniture are stained and damaged. Bathroom sinks are chipped. Housekeeping was hit or miss, garbage was left in our rooms near the garbage can and coffee/creamer weren’t refilled everyday. We had to request refills 3 times. We waited almost 30 minutes for our car at valet even though it wasn’t busy. We called down for it and there was a ‘communication error’ between the operator and valet though no one seemed too concerned to assist. Honestly we believe it was mislabeled and ‘lost’ the night before as the valet seems distracted and overwhelmed. The pictures on the site are misleading, we are actually shocked by all the 5 star reviews. We were going to switch hotels the second day because we were so disappointed but it was the best option location wise for our plans. We will not be returning in the future though. For what we paid, I’m positive we can find a nicer hotel that won’t disappoint.
