Upgraded rooms awhile ago...New owner seems very nice...a little pricey,...but all incuded.....week to week rentals
For individuals and families seeking accommodation within the "Hotels Near Of Me" category, particularly those interested in a more extended or independent stay in the picturesque Sebago Lake Region of Maine, the White Pines Inn in Raymond offers a distinct lodging experience. Located at 1262 Roosevelt Trail, Raymond, ME 04071, USA, the Inn operates as a motel-style establishment that has undergone recent upgrades and appears to cater to both short-term visitors and those seeking week-to-week rentals.
The White Pines Inn is situated on Roosevelt Trail (U.S. Route 302), a key thoroughfare in the Sebago Lake Region. This location provides convenient access to the natural beauty and recreational opportunities of the area, including Sebago Lake itself, as well as nearby towns like Windham, Casco, Naples, Gray, Standish, and Sebago. It's also reasonably close to Saint Joseph's College. The environment surrounding the Inn is characterized by its rural setting, offering a more peaceful and traditional Maine experience compared to urban hotels.
The property consists of individual units, suggesting a layout common to motels or cabin inns, which provides guests with direct access to their rooms and a sense of independence. While the Inn has undergone "upgraded rooms awhile ago," indicating a commitment to modernization, some guest feedback alludes to a need for further updates in certain areas. The atmosphere under new ownership has been described with mixed opinions, with some noting a less friendly vibe or concerns about other tenants. However, the inherent rustic charm of an older property nestled in the Maine landscape remains a potential draw for those seeking an authentic regional experience.
The outdoor areas are likely to offer a tranquil setting, consistent with its "White Pines" name, suggesting a wooded or natural landscape. Guests may find themselves amidst the serene environment characteristic of the Lakes Region, appealing to those who appreciate nature and quiet surroundings.
The service approach at White Pines Inn, particularly under new ownership, appears to be evolving. While some guests have found the "new owner seems very nice," others have expressed concerns about the level of friendliness compared to previous management. This indicates a varied guest experience regarding staff interaction. The Inn functions with a primary focus on providing lodging, and its service model may lean more towards an independent or self-service style typical of motels offering weekly rentals rather than a full-service hotel with extensive daily amenities.
The Inn likely offers a 24-hour availability for check-in and assistance, given its nature as a lodging establishment, though specific details on front desk hours are not widely published. Guests needing assistance can utilize the provided phone numbers: (207) 655-6114 or +1 207-655-6114. For those interested in longer stays, the Inn explicitly caters to "week to week rentals," suggesting a flexible approach to booking durations that differs from the nightly rates of many standard hotels.
Services generally include providing a clean and safe accommodation. However, some reviews mention concerns about tenant behavior and personal belongings, which suggests that prospective guests should consider their personal comfort with a potentially more communal or less strictly monitored environment, especially for longer-term stays. It is advisable to clarify expectations regarding daily services, such as housekeeping, which may be less frequent than in a traditional hotel for extended stays.
The White Pines Inn has undertaken "upgraded rooms awhile ago," meaning guests can expect rooms that have seen some level of renovation, aiming for improved comfort and modern amenities. While detailed descriptions of every room type are not consistently available, the Inn's offerings typically include straightforward rooms and suites. These often feature practical amenities like minifridges and microwaves, which are highly convenient for guests, especially those on extended stays or looking to prepare simple meals. Complimentary WiFi is also provided, ensuring connectivity for all guests.
Based on information from various booking platforms, some rooms or suites at White Pines Inn may also feature premium bedding, Tempur-Pedic beds, a desk with a laptop-friendly workspace, air conditioning, and LED TVs. Specific room configurations might include King or Queen beds, and some suites could offer fireplaces or jetted tubs, adding a touch of luxury. The property also appears to have an indoor pool, accessible from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM, and a hot tub, providing recreational options for guests. A fitness facility is also mentioned, catering to those who wish to maintain their exercise routines.
Additional property features may include a terrace/patio, a garden, barbecue grills, and a picnic area, allowing guests to enjoy the outdoor surroundings. On-site laundry facilities are typically available for guest use, which is a significant convenience, especially for long-term residents. Free self-parking is also provided, accommodating various vehicle types.
For dining, the Inn offers a free daily "on-the-go breakfast," which provides a basic but convenient start to the day. While a full-service restaurant is not explicitly mentioned as an on-site feature, the presence of microwaves and minifridges in rooms supports self-catering.
The White Pines Inn appears to cater to a specific niche within the "Hotels Near Of Me" market: individuals seeking flexible "week to week rentals" or a more affordable, extended-stay option in the Raymond area. The pricing structure, however, has been a point of contention in guest reviews, with some expressing that it is "a little pricey" or that the "owner charges different price to everyone for the same room size n services," leading to concerns about inconsistent pricing. This feedback suggests that potential guests should inquire directly and clearly about rates to avoid any misunderstandings.
Despite the pricing concerns, the Inn's value proposition often includes utilities and amenities that might be "all included" for longer stays, which can be cost-effective compared to traditional apartments or other short-term rentals that charge separately for these. The offer of upgraded rooms, an indoor pool, and a fitness facility adds to the perceived value, especially for those who appreciate these conveniences.
The Inn's location near Sebago Lake, with opportunities for boating, kayaking, fishing, and access to Sebago Lake State Park, implicitly promotes itself to leisure travelers and outdoor enthusiasts. The presence of a hot tub and sauna also adds to its appeal as a relaxing retreat. While the promotional information highlights renovated rooms and amenities, prospective guests should be mindful of the varied feedback regarding management and the overall environment, particularly for longer stays, to ensure it aligns with their expectations. Open communication with the Inn about their policies and pricing prior to booking is recommended for a transparent experience.

Apr 22, 2024 · David RMy husband and I didn't expect much, and we got just that, not much. Terri was nice and friendly. The room was ok..well alot less than ok. The bed was extremely uncomfortable and they should put a few bucks back into their property, like: mattresses and linens. What really got us, when we left on Saturday to attend my nieces wedding it didn't occur to us we needed to ask them to bring in towels and take out the trash. I can live with the sheets not being changed, but come on ... it was over 90° on Saturday. We returned to take showers and go out to dinner, NO TOWELS. You may be saying, "get over it." But the rooms are over $100 a night. I was told I had to ask for towels...really? I would not recommend and would suggest you keep looking. If you do stay, you will figure out quick, it isn't just the lack of towels that will annoy you, it is the whole experience. So we paid for two nights, stayed one. I should have looked around and I recommend you do the same.
Jul 26, 2017 · Mary Ann TurnerVery nice new manager, his name is Dave and he goes above and beyond for all this renters. He's down to earth and keeps up on the appearances of the Inn. I recommend staying here! There's also a laundry room which comes with the rental of the room. Rooms are always very clean. And Dave always answers immediately when u reach out to him about any questions. Also there's a private beach that you can go down to with picnic tables and a bathroom. The beach is always clean and it's nice and sandy there aswell. You are close to all the major towns such as windham, gray, soulth Portland, portland, westbrook... etc. I recommend staying here now forsure!!!
Jan 24, 2021 · Towwer Cleaning & Services Property MaintenanceIf I could give this place 0 stars, I would. My boyfriend and I stayed one night, just to get away, it was pretty crappy. The cable didn't work, as much as we tried to figure it out, it was just static on the screen. We brought a laptop, and tried to watch movies on that, but the wifi wasn't strong enough. By that point I was pretty disappointed because being home was better than being there. So we drove to rent some movies, and brought them back to the hotel so we would have at least something to do because the room was already paid for. My boyfriend has seizures and is prescribed medical marijuana (pot is legal in Maine anyways) he smoked outside in the designated smoking area, which is right outside of the room, and after we got home, the owner freaked out, and very rudely said we would be charged for smoking pot inside the room. We definitely did NOT smoke inside and respected all rules. Now I'm stressed out and wish I hadn't even gone. Staying home would have saved me $130 and all the trouble of being there, plus I would have had cable and internet. If she charges me, I will be taking her to court.
