This article aims to provide a clear, factual, and informative overview of the Windemere Hotel & Conference Center for our Arizona residents. It’s important to approach this information with an open mind, as the Windemere Hotel & Conference Center appears to operate beyond the typical commercial hotel model. This unique dual identity means that expectations for a stay here might differ from a conventional hotel experience. We encourage you to read on to learn more about this distinct Mesa location and its contributions to the local community.

Location and Accessibility

The Windemere Hotel & Conference Center is situated at 5750 E Main St, Mesa, AZ 85205, USA. This East Mesa location offers a particular set of advantages and considerations for accessibility within the greater Phoenix metropolitan area.

Being on East Main Street places the property along a significant thoroughfare in Mesa, providing relatively straightforward access for those traveling by car. It’s located in a part of Mesa that allows for connection to larger highways, making it accessible from various points in the East Valley, including Apache Junction, Gilbert, and Chandler.

For air travel, the hotel is approximately 7.9 miles from Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport (AZA), a convenient option for regional flights. Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX), the larger international airport, is further away, around 16.8 to 23 miles, typically requiring a longer drive depending on traffic. The hotel states it offers an airport shuttle, which could be a beneficial service for travelers without personal transportation.

While the immediate surroundings might present a diverse urban environment, the location offers proximity to some local points of interest. It is noted to be near Superstition Springs Center, a popular shopping mall with various retail and dining options, which is approximately three miles away. Other nearby attractions mentioned in public data include the Commemorative Air Force Museum and the Riparian Preserve at Water Ranch, offering historical and natural exploration opportunities. For those interested in outdoor activities, Canyon Lake, known for water sports, is also within a few miles.

Public transportation access in this specific part of Mesa might be more limited compared to central areas like downtown Tempe or Phoenix, relying more heavily on bus routes. While specific bus stops aren't detailed, being on a main road increases the likelihood of nearby public transit options. Free self-parking is available on-site, including RV/bus/lorry parking, which is a significant convenience for guests with vehicles. Understanding the immediate neighborhood context, as suggested by some reviews mentioning a "cop on watch at night" and concerns about "surroundings," is also part of a comprehensive assessment of the location's accessibility and comfort.

Features / Highlights

  • Kitchenette-Equipped Rooms: A significant convenience for guests, many rooms include a kitchenette with a microwave and refrigerator, which is highly beneficial for longer stays or those preferring to prepare their own meals. Some rooms also feature private patios or balconies.
  • Conference and Event Facilities: As a "Conference Center," it boasts substantial meeting and banquet spaces (over 8,500 sq. ft.), making it capable of hosting various events, from business meetings to weddings.
  • Outdoor Pool & Jacuzzi: Provides a space for relaxation and enjoyment, though recent reviews suggest checking operational status before booking.
  • Free On-Site Parking: A practical highlight, offering ample and complimentary parking for all guests, including larger vehicles.
  • Pet-Friendly Accommodation: The ability to bring pets (with applicable fees and restrictions) is a valuable feature for many travelers.
  • Proximity to Local Attractions: Its East Mesa location offers relatively easy access to shopping centers like Superstition Springs Center, as well as natural attractions like Riparian Preserve at Water Ranch and Canyon Lake.

This shows a distinct community-focused dimension to its operations.
  • Value Proposition (for certain contexts): For individuals seeking long-term accommodation with kitchenette facilities or those accessing community support programs, the structure of the stays and resources provided can be a significant highlight.
  • Spacious Rooms (in some cases): Some guests who experienced renovated rooms found them to be spacious and clean, resembling updated studio apartments.

It is crucial for potential guests to note that while these features are advertised, some recent guest experiences have pointed out discrepancies, such as the lobby being inaccessible at times, the pool being closed, or issues with amenities like a non-functional jacuzzi or certain areas needing maintenance. The presence of social programs means the hotel environment might differ significantly from a typical commercial hotel, with reviews mentioning a visible police presence and the presence of long-term residents. Therefore, managing expectations based on the latest feedback is highly recommended.

Promotions or Special Offers

Based on available public information, the Windemere Hotel & Conference Center does not consistently advertise widespread promotional offers in the same manner as larger hotel chains might. However, potential savings and unique arrangements can be inferred from its operational model and typical hotel practices:

  • Long-Term Stay Options: Given its apparent role in providing extended stay accommodations, especially in conjunction with community programs, guests inquiring about longer stays might find favorable rates. The mention of a "minimum 2 week stay" for certain programs suggests a structure for extended occupancy which often comes with reduced daily rates.
  • Group Discounts: As a "Conference Center" with significant meeting space, it is highly probable that the hotel offers discounted rates for group bookings, whether for business conferences, family reunions, or other organized events.
  • Corporate Rates: Businesses or organizations, especially those associated with the social programs the hotel participates in, might have pre-negotiated corporate rates.
  • Direct Booking Benefits: While not explicitly stated as a "promotion," contacting the hotel directly (via phone) might yield the most accurate and flexible pricing, especially given the varying nature of its guest base.
  • Children Stay Free: Public information indicates that up to 2 children (18 years and younger) can stay free when occupying the parent or guardian's room using existing bedding, which is a common family-friendly policy.
  • Refundable Rates: Some booking platforms indicate that the hotel may offer fully refundable room rates, providing flexibility for cancellations.

Given the unique nature of this property, it is strongly advised to contact the Windemere Hotel & Conference Center directly by phone at (480) 985-3600 or +1 480-985-3600 to inquire about any specific offers that might be available for your particular needs, whether it's a short commercial stay, a long-term booking, or an inquiry related to their community programs. Websites like Expedia or Agoda might also list available rates, but direct communication can provide clarity on amenities and specific room types.

Minus 2 stars. If we were not utterly heat exhausted we would have found another hotel just 3 miles away with a pool, breakfast and ⅓ the cost of what they charged us here. Couldn't enter the lobby, although you saw people sitting inside. We looked at the photos, didn't seem like a bad place. Had a nice pool, complementary breakfast and a kitchenette. WRONG, except for the kitchenette. Checking in, a hot, stuffy room no bigger than a small walk-in closet. After spending 5 hours in the heat, 113 we just wanted to cool down. We are both in power wheelchairs, at the time we thought we were getting a wheelchair accessible room. Could not fit through the front door, not wide enough and we don't have a ramp, there's a back door and it slides. Need a ramp too. My brother in law broke our TV tray and some how we got into the room. We should have left right then, but my wife was throwing up. We just need to cool down and tomorrow we'll leave. She was worse. First 2 nights she slept ½ on the bed and ½ on her wheelchair. I think she had heat stroke but she didn't want to go to the ER, because she would have had to take the bus and be in the heat again. There is an invasion of small black beetles. I do not know what they will do to our stuff that is on the floor but we cannot leave our dog's food or water dishes down.

This location has a service to help homeless people get a path to their own homes or apartments. They have helped my friend & her 2 dogs getb3 months shelter. She has a large 1 bedroom with a balcony & can cook her food there too. I am so happy they helped my friend get thru the summer heat. 🧡💛💙💚

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ CBI Windermere Off the Streets Homeless Program I can’t say enough good things about the CBI Windermere Off the Streets Homeless Program. My experience with them has been nothing short of life-changing. From the moment I reached out, they were there with open arms, ready to listen, help, and offer real solutions. Being in a situation where you don’t have a home is incredibly stressful, both physically and emotionally. It's easy to feel lost or like you’re falling through the cracks, but this program showed me that I wasn’t alone and that there was hope. The staff at CBI Windermere is nothing short of amazing. They’re not just going through the motions – they genuinely care about the people they help. Whether it’s through providing immediate shelter, offering food and clothing, or just taking the time to listen to your story, they’re there for you every step of the way. What really stood out to me is the way they treat everyone with dignity and respect. It didn’t matter what my situation was, they never made me feel less than or judged. Beyond the basic necessities, this program really focuses on helping you rebuild your life. They offer resources to help you find work, get the documentation you need, and even provide guidance on how to move toward permanent housing. It’s not just about getting you off the streets for the night; they truly want to see you succeed in the long run. They provided me with the tools I needed to regain control of my situation and my future, which was incredibly empowering. I also appreciate how organized and well-run the program is. Every time I had a question or needed support, they were quick to respond and offer solutions. You can tell they take what they do seriously, and they’re committed to making a real difference in the community. If anyone is struggling with homelessness or knows someone who is, I can’t recommend CBI Windermere enough. This program isn’t just about offering a helping hand; it’s about changing lives and giving people the second chance they deserve. I’m forever grateful to them for their support and for helping me get back on my feet. Thank you, CBI Windermere, for all you do!

Bed bugs, and roaches. Had to leave all my belongings and start over. They do have a hot box there to rid your clothes of them but that is embarrassing. Other than that rooms are big and they have a balcony upstairs which was nice, with a little fridge. Pricing is pretty decent. Good luck. FYI bed bugs were red and microscopic. Getting bit sucked.
