Good room but HORRIBLE STAFFS. The room was decent — you get what you pay for. That being said: 1. The walls are very thin, so noise travels easily. 2. The kitchen was completely empty — no plates, cups, utensils, nothing at all. What for? 3. The room itself was clean and had a pleasant smell. However, the woman working the day shift (appeared to be in her 40s-50s) was a major downside to the experience. Her attitude was far from professional — loud, rude, and aggressive. Rather than helping guests who were confused, she acted as though she owned the place. Her attitude and her manner don’t make her a good fit in the hospitality industry. I honestly don’t understand how or why she was hired. I have been traveling a lot in the past months and this is the only first time I experienced such rude staff. The HR should really check on her.

When considering the environment at WoodSpring Suites Wilkes-Barre, guest reviews offer a mixed but informative perspective. The general consensus suggests that the rooms themselves are "decent" and generally "clean and had a pleasant smell." This indicates that the fundamental aspect of cleanliness, crucial for any stay, is largely addressed. However, a significant environmental factor highlighted by guests is the thinness of the walls, leading to noise traveling easily between rooms. This could impact the overall tranquility and privacy, especially during extended stays where guests spend more time within their accommodations. The hotel's focus appears to be on providing functional, no-frills lodging, aligning with an extended-stay, budget-friendly model. The exterior and common areas are generally maintained to a basic standard consistent with this approach.
The services at WoodSpring Suites Wilkes-Barre receive critical feedback in customer reviews, particularly concerning staff interactions. While the objective is to provide a service for extended stays, specific instances of staff behavior have been a notable point of contention. One review specifically highlights a "woman working the day shift" whose attitude was described as "far from professional—loud, rude, and aggressive." This individual's demeanor was perceived as unhelpful to "confused" guests and as if she "owned the place," which is counterproductive to the hospitality industry. The review further emphasizes this by stating, "this is the only first time I experienced such rude staff," across extensive travel. Such feedback suggests that while the core services of check-in and room access are provided, the quality of interpersonal service can significantly detract from the guest experience. It is important for a hotel, especially one catering to extended stays where guests interact more frequently with staff, to ensure consistent, professional, and courteous service.
Moving on to the features of WoodSpring Suites Wilkes-Barre, the hotel positions itself as an extended stay option by offering in-room kitchen facilities, which is a significant amenity for guests planning longer visits. Guests appreciate the inclusion of a "large bed as well as refrigerator and 2 burner cook top and sink." This setup allows guests the flexibility to prepare their own meals, which can lead to considerable savings over time compared to dining out. The presence of a refrigerator is particularly valued, with one guest noting that "Most hotels don't even have a refrigerator." This kitchenette setup is a key differentiator for extended stay properties. However, a crucial point raised in a review is that "The kitchen was completely empty—no plates, cups, utensils, nothing at all. What for?" This suggests that while the appliances are present, guests need to bring their own kitchenware or inquire about rental/provision services, which could be an unexpected detail for some. This indicates that the hotel provides the infrastructure for self-catering but not necessarily the immediate readiness for it.
Other general features of the rooms include basic furnishings designed for practicality and comfort during longer stays. The cleanliness and pleasant smell of the room are noted positives. The design is likely straightforward, focusing on durability and ease of maintenance suitable for an extended stay format. While specific details on Wi-Fi quality, laundry facilities, or fitness centers are not provided in the given reviews, these are common amenities for extended stay hotels and would be worth inquiring about directly if they are important for a potential guest's stay. The value proposition of these features is tied to the price point, aiming to offer necessary amenities at an economical rate.
Regarding promotional information, WoodSpring Suites operates on a model that typically offers competitive rates for longer stays, often becoming more economical the longer a guest stays. While specific promotions are not mentioned in the reviews, the underlying theme is "you get what you pay for," suggesting that the hotel provides a basic, functional product at an affordable price point. Guests seeking extended stay options through the "Hotels Near Of Me" platform would likely be drawn to its competitive weekly or monthly rates. It is always advisable for potential guests to contact the hotel directly at (570) 371-0310 or +1 570-371-0310 to inquire about current rates, any available discounts for longer durations, or specific packages that might be on offer. Understanding the pricing structure in relation to the amenities provided is key to assessing the overall value for an extended stay.
In conclusion, WoodSpring Suites Wilkes-Barre, as an extended stay option listed on the "Hotels Near Of Me" platform, offers a basic but generally clean environment suitable for longer durations. The primary features of the rooms, including a large bed, refrigerator, two-burner cooktop, and sink, cater to the needs of extended stay guests, allowing for self-sufficiency. However, the lack of provided kitchenware should be noted. While the cleanliness of the rooms is a positive aspect, potential guests should be aware of reported issues regarding noise due to thin walls. A significant area of concern highlighted in guest feedback is the quality of staff service, with specific accounts of unprofessional and rude behavior. This aspect could considerably impact the overall guest experience. Given its positioning as an economical extended stay hotel, it appeals to budget-conscious travelers. Prospective guests should weigh the benefits of its in-room kitchen amenities and potentially affordable rates against the reported challenges in service and noise, to make an informed decision for their extended stay in Wilkes-Barre Township, PA.

Apr 17, 2025 · Muse S.In my opinion this was one of the better spots I have stayed. For the price you get a large bed as well as refrigerator and 2 burner cook top and sink. Most hotels don't even have a refrigerator.
Apr 04, 2025 · Lance DavidI stayed and currently still do stay here for now, for over two weeks. Manager is super friendly and helpful, especially in shitty situations. We have no complaints. Just do what is asked, be on time with payments as arraigned so he isn't made out to be a bad guy, and the rest of staff is helpful as can be. Cons: Music outside late/early morning. Nothing the hotel can really control.
Nov 13, 2024 · D SClean room, fair price! Kitchenette with no utensils made no sense... you can rent some from the front desk. Guess that's how they lower the cost of the room...
Feb 27, 2025 · Frederick PackardSecond time staying here - never again. NO SECURITY- main doors never locked, anybody can just walk in. This time bugs in room - NO reason to ask for another room - if bugs in one - bugs in all.
