First time visiting Nashville so I wanted to be close as possible to the action without breaking bank. This place seemed to check all of the boxes. We were not disappointed. Very cozy room with great views, and all of the amenities (full kitchen, laundry, balcony, living room, tv’s in living room and bedroom). I should also mention, if you are looking for a spot to stay when attending a concert at Ascend Amphitheater, this is the one. Just a block away. We hit the Hampton social prior for a few drinks and appetizers on the rooftop and it was a great experience. If I had to think of a complaint, it would be that I wish they would have given heads prior to arriving that the water would be shut off the first night. We only knew of this because of a note in the elevator. They did provide grab n go items like water for the inconvenience. I also wish I knew there was a DGX around the corner instead of door dashing a bunch of items / water, etc. Had to idea of the timeline the water would be off so wanted to make sure we were stocked up.
For those of us in the District of Columbia, whether we're hosting extended family, undergoing a home renovation, or simply seeking a more spacious and independent staycation experience, traditional hotels don't always fit the bill. That's where places like **2500 Penn, a Placemakr Experience**, truly shine. This property isn't just a hotel; it's an aparthotel, offering fully furnished apartments designed for comfort, convenience, and a genuine "home away from home" feel right in the heart of our vibrant city. It's an ideal solution for anyone needing more than just a room, providing the flexibility and amenities of apartment living with the services of a hotel.
What sets 2500 Penn apart is its commitment to providing a lived-in experience. Forget cramped hotel rooms; here, you can expect spacious layouts, full kitchens, and even in-unit laundry in many configurations, which is a game-changer for longer stays or for families. This concept perfectly caters to the modern traveler who values autonomy and the ability to maintain their routine while on the road, or simply for locals who need a comfortable base in a prime location without the long-term commitment of a lease. While some past guests have mentioned minor issues such as noise or the occasional need for updates, the overwhelming positive feedback centers on the property's excellent location, spacious units, and the overall value it provides.
For us D.C. residents, the appeal is clear. Imagine having a full kitchen to prepare meals, saving on dining out, or having a separate living area to relax in after a busy day exploring our city. The flexibility and added space truly elevate the stay experience, making it a highly attractive option for various local scenarios. This Placemakr property aims to blend the best of both worlds: the independence of an apartment with the reliability of a professionally managed hospitality experience.

While the property does offer **covered self-parking** on-site, it is managed by a third party and comes with a daily fee (around $35-$50), which is typical for downtown D.C. However, given the excellent public transportation links, many guests find that relying on walking, biking, or the Metro is the most efficient way to experience the city.

May 08, 2025 · Matt ZahnWe had a great overall experience at this property. The location was excellent—just a short walk to Broadway and the downtown area, with plenty of dining options nearby. The staff was friendly, accommodating, and always willing to help. Parking was secure and conveniently located right next to the property, although it is managed by a third party and costs $50 per day. The unit itself was well stocked and provided everything we needed for a comfortable stay. While the mattress was a bit firmer than I prefer and the pillows softer, this comes down to personal preference. I’ll likely bring my own pillow next time, but these details didn’t detract significantly from our visit. The only major downside was the noise during the night. Our unit was on the 9th floor directly above the dumpsters, and unfortunately, they were emptied around 3:30–3:45 AM each morning. The noise was quite loud and persistent as all three dumpsters were emptied, making it difficult to sleep through or block out. Despite this, the location, amenities, and service made it a great place to stay, and we would consider returning—with a room in a quieter location.
Jun 02, 2025 · Monica MariettaWe really enjoyed our stay here. The room was well suited for our needs as a family of four. It had a kitchenette and was also located near a grocery store. The foggy bottom location is good for the mall and also Georgetown. The staff made a huge difference though. They were incredibly helpful and nice. They deserve lots of kudos for what they do!
Apr 16, 2025 · Doug FosterAmazing Hotel, Amazing Rooms, Wonderful amenities, and great location to downtown Nashville and the riverfront! The BEST front desk staff EVER! They are all so friendly and helpful. It will be my preferred place to stay for future Nashville trips!
Jun 19, 2025 · Anne harrisThe rooms were filthy- stains everywhere and on everything. I had to wash all kitchenware before use because it was so dirty. I was going to run a load of dishes before I checked out, but the dishwasher was full of stank, stale water. There were stains on everything in this room. Additionally, I went down to the front desk to ask to extend my checkout from 11 am until 1pm for late check out. She told me they wouldn’t be able to do that, and that they could only extend it for “an hour.” I was happy with that, and expected to pay the $50 late fee. I was then met at my room by two different people 15 minutes apart. The woman who I spoke to at the front desk told me she said “11:30,” which is simply not true. She said “an hour.” So they basically kicked me out of the room after promising it to me for an extra hour. On the plus side, they didn’t charge me their egregious rate of $50/hour (that I know of yet), and the location is great. Located right near metro stations, cafes, food, dupont circle, and georgetown. Definitely a great area to stay in, but not a great hotel.
