While the rooms are not exactly luxurious, they are amply sized and some have spectacular views. Additionally, unlike the closest competitor, the location is actually pretty good - you’re right near a lively section of the neighborhood, a half block from the bus to the airport or the subway. Overall, a solid value and I plan on returning.
Jan 20, 2025 · KyleHotel prices in Manhattan were exorbitant 2 weeks before Christmas, so we took a chance on the Astoria Inn Laguardia Hotel and couldn't have been more pleased. The hotel is small, but very clean and bright, with polite and friendly assistance at the front desk. The room was, again, on the small side, but that's to be expected in NYC. The room was modern, well appointed, and the shower was fantastic - water hotter than I could stand, with excellent water pressure. The area is safe and very cute, with lots of restaurants and shops nearby. We had about a 10 minute walk to the subway station to get to Manhattan, and the ride there took less than 30 minutes. Overall, I can't recommend this place highly enough for a price-friendly stay in a much more residential area of NYC.

Evening front desk that had to check me in twice and, for reasons I still don't know, asked for $10 cash. Super loud street interaction nearby, and a smokey food cart that leave the openable windows a mixed bag. Cheap, but nope.
