Mar 21, 2025 · Tobias FredeGreat location, amazing room, and amazing staff! The room was much better than expected. I felt so comfortable my entire stay!! The front desk staff was very helpful with any questions I had, and even made suggestions for places to eat/get food around the area. Loved that there was a 24/7 deli right down the street for convenience! The housekeeping service was also so nice and kept my room tidy. The complimentary water and toiletry items were a very nice touch! I also very much appreciated the lobby holding my bags since my flight was after checkout and gave me a chance to do some last minute things before I left. I will definitely be staying here again on my next visit!
Oct 05, 2024 · Yarelin GutierrezFrom being greeted by Yianni at the front desk to exceptional room and location to everything I was doing on this trip, this was 6 stars. The attention to detail is appreciated. There is a small kitchenette of sorts with a microwave and sink. The aesthetic is pleasing and in good taste Bathroom is large and well appointed. I travel a lot and the proximity of this location to both LGA and anywhere else you need to go is excellent.
Jan 24, 2025 · Jason Miller"Hello, I am writing this with regret because this was the most disappointing Airbnb & hotel experience I’ve ever had. When we made a one-week reservation, it was immediately approved and the payment was taken right away. When we went to check in at the hotel, we were very tired. However, they told us that they would charge us nearly $600 in extra fees and would take a $350 deposit. They made us wait for almost two and a half hours in the lobby. Maybe this was my mistake, but it was something we had never encountered before. We asked for a refund and for them to cancel, but they did not. They said if we didn’t want to stay, they wouldn't refund our money. Because of this, we had no choice but to stay. We had to extend our stay for another week, and for this, we had to pay another $350 deposit, $311 in tax fees, and additional cleaning fees. During our two-week stay, the cleaning staff knocked on the door only twice, and even though we told them we’d be available soon, they never returned. At check-out, I asked the receptionist to email me if they were going to charge any damage fees. However, no one sent me an email, but we saw that they tried to charge $400 on our card and then charged an additional $200. They also requested an additional $360. I wish they had informed us so we could have discussed it and paid ourselves. I regret to say that this was the most expensive and uncomfortable experience I’ve had. Note: They charged us $13.07 for a towel that got stained with makeup :) I wish I had done laundry and returned it myself. Anyway, it's your choice if you decide to stay here."
Feb 28, 2025 · Cemre SevincThe Modernist Hotel has a very good vibe to it. The location, the room, the scenery, the staffs (very lovely lots) The rooms are really nice and neat. The environment, very demeanour. The only downside to it from my point of view (this is personal, I don’t know how someone else feels about it, and this honestly doesn’t mean I won’t lodge here when I next visit NY) How do one explain paying extra $20 per night (excluding taxes) for things like tea, water and other services like the gym e.t.c. And for spending 2 nights we only got 2 bottles of water (about 240ml each). Paying the fee is not the issue, but I feel like they could do better.
