I’ve had the opportunity to stay twice. The first time was a cold night and my airstream was cozy and warm! Impeccable service. This was my second stay at AutoCamp Cape Cod, and while it didn’t go as smoothly as the first, I’d still consider returning for a third visit. I stayed one night during a torrential downpour. The shift manager (I believe) was very kind—she offered me an umbrella and a towel to dry off while I checked in, which was a thoughtful touch. The older gentleman who handled my check-in was also kind, efficient, and prompt. Unfortunately, the power went out during the night. Since my last visit, the heating system had been switched from propane to electric heat pumps, so there was no heat during the outage. Additionally, the roof in Camper 123 leaked, which made the stay less comfortable. That said, the staff handled the situation well. They issued a refund for the night, which I appreciated. Despite the issues, their customer service would make me consider staying again.

AutoCamp Cape Cod Introduce

For those exploring the "Hotels Near Of Me" category on Cape Cod, AutoCamp Cape Cod, located at 836 Palmer Ave, Falmouth, MA 02540, USA, offers a distinctive and highly sought-after lodging experience that transcends the traditional hotel stay. It's a luxury glamping destination that blends the iconic design of Airstream trailers and other unique accommodations with the amenities and services of a boutique hotel, all set within a beautifully designed outdoor environment.

Environment and Ambiance:

AutoCamp Cape Cod is designed to immerse guests in nature while providing upscale comfort. Spread across 14 acres, the property features a variety of accommodations nestled among trees and outdoor spaces, creating a serene and rustic-chic ambiance. The central hub is an 8,100 square-foot Clubhouse, inspired by modernist Cape Cod beach houses. This communal space boasts large expanses of glass, an indoor fireplace, a breakfast bar, a General Store, and a lounge, serving as a gathering point for guests. Outside the Clubhouse, you'll find a terrace, garden, outdoor entertainment area, and numerous fire pits where guests can gather. The emphasis is on a laid-back, community-oriented vibe, where guests can enjoy the outdoors without sacrificing comfort. Guests frequently praise the beautiful, well-maintained property and the feeling of being surrounded by nature. While largely serene, there can be some construction noise during weekdays of certain periods (e.g., July 14 - October 31) as the property continues to evolve, though efforts are made to minimize impact on guest rooms. The resort aims for a car-free environment around guest rooms, with parking located elsewhere on the property, enhancing the peaceful outdoor experience. AutoCamp is committed to preserving natural ecosystems, restoring wetlands with native plants on the property.

Services and Amenities:

AutoCamp Cape Cod offers a comprehensive array of services and amenities designed to create a luxurious and engaging "glamping" experience.

  • The Clubhouse: This central building is a key amenity, offering a reception area, lounge, coffee shop/cafe, snack bar/deli, and the General Store (The Kitchen + General Store) where guests can purchase food, beverages, and camping essentials.
  • Dining: Guests can purchase a la carte options for any meal, and there is a breakfast bar in the Clubhouse. In-room cooking is also facilitated by equipped kitchenettes and outdoor fire pits.
  • Recreation & Wellness: AutoCamp provides complimentary on-site activities and equipment. This includes free bicycle rentals to explore the adjacent Shining Sea Bikeway, and complimentary daily wellness classes such as yoga and Pilates (often held on the Clubhouse lawn or second floor). Evening activities like live music sessions by the communal campfire and stargazing events with astronomers are also offered. A playground is available for children.
  • Guest Services: A 24-hour front desk ensures assistance is always available. Other services include luggage storage, concierge services, and house-keeping (on request). The staff receive consistent praise for their "impeccable service," kindness, efficiency, and thoughtful gestures, such as offering umbrellas during downpours or creating personalized "mom packages" for solo travelers with babies.
  • Connectivity & Business: Free in-room WiFi is available to all guests. For those needing to work, coworking spaces and business services are offered.
  • Outdoor Features: Beyond the private fire pits at each accommodation, there are communal fire pits, barbecue grills, picnic areas, and a garden.
  • Pet-Friendly: AutoCamp Cape Cod is pet-friendly, allowing dogs for an extra charge of $75 per pet, per stay, with a limit of 2 dogs up to 23 kg each. Food and water bowls are available, demonstrating their commitment to accommodating furry guests.
  • Amenity Fee: It's important to note that a nightly amenity fee (e.g., $35 per night as reported by some sources) is applied. This fee typically covers items like breakfast granola, craft coffee and tea, a welcome drink, daily refreshments, WiFi, beach towels, cruiser bicycles, lawn games, board games, weekly onsite events and programming, and onsite parking.
The combination of thoughtful service and extensive amenities aims to provide a hassle-free and enriching outdoor getaway.

Features and Accommodations:

AutoCamp Cape Cod offers a unique variety of 108 individually furnished accommodations, blending rustic charm with modern luxury.

  • Airstream Suites: These are the most iconic accommodations, featuring custom-designed, timeless 31-foot Airstream trailers. They include a bright sitting room, a private full bathroom with a walk-in rain shower and spa-inspired bath products, a well-equipped kitchenette (with microwave, mini-fridge, cookware, and essentials), and a queen-size Tempur-Pedic bed with high-thread count linens. A galley sofa often transforms into an additional double bed. Each Airstream has its own private patio with a fire pit and dining area. Various Airstream suite types are available, including Premium and Vista options with enhanced views or privacy, and Explorer Suites which include a premium AllTrails subscription.
  • Classic Cabins: These are tiny home-style accommodations offering more living space, with large picture windows. They feature a private bedroom, a full bathroom, a full kitchen with a stovetop, and a living area. Accessible Cabins are also available.
  • Adventure Tents: For a more traditional, yet luxurious, camping feel, these spacious canvas tents feature a king bed, a living area, and a private outdoor fire pit. They come with electric blankets and access to Clubhouse restrooms with luxury showers and towel service. Accessible Adventure Tents are also an option.
  • BaseCamps: Some locations offer BaseCamps, which combine an Airstream Suite with an adjacent Adventure Tent, providing ample space for larger families or groups.
All accommodations feature heating and air conditioning, flat-screen TVs with cable channels, audio systems with Bluetooth, and laptop-friendly workspaces. While an incident of a roof leak and power outage impacting heating (due to switch from propane to electric heat pumps) was reported, the swift resolution and refund provided by staff highlight their commitment to guest satisfaction. The overall design emphasizes modern comfort, cleanliness, and functionality within a unique outdoor setting.

Promotional Information and Location Advantages:

AutoCamp Cape Cod's promotional strategy strongly emphasizes its unique "luxury glamping" concept and its strategic location for exploring Cape Cod. For those searching "Hotels Near Of Me," it offers an alternative to traditional hotels that combines outdoor adventure with high-end comforts.

  • Unique Experience: The primary selling point is the distinctiveness of staying in an Airstream or luxury tent, offering a memorable and Instagram-worthy vacation experience.
  • Location Advantages:
    • Proximity to Falmouth & Woods Hole: Located on Palmer Avenue, it's just a few minutes from downtown Falmouth, with its charming shops, restaurants, and cultural attractions. It's also very close to Woods Hole, home to the Oceanographic Institution and the Steamship Authority ferry terminal for Martha's Vineyard, making island day trips incredibly convenient.
    • Shining Sea Bikeway Access: AutoCamp has direct access to the 10.7-mile Shining Sea Bikeway, which is perfect for walking or cycling along the scenic coastline, offering views of Buzzards Bay and Vineyard Sound. Complimentary bike rentals enhance this access.
    • Beaches: While not directly on the beach, it's a short distance from numerous Cape Cod beaches, allowing guests to easily access the Atlantic shore for swimming and sunbathing.
    • Transportation: The location on Palmer Avenue provides good access to major routes. Barnstable Municipal Airport (HYA) is approximately 19 miles away.
  • Promotional Offers: AutoCamp often offers various promotions and discounts:
    • Advance Purchase Rates: Booking in advance can sometimes yield savings.
    • Loyalty Programs: While not explicitly an IHG hotel like a Holiday Inn, AutoCamp may have its own loyalty programs or partnerships (e.g., with Hilton Honors as seen in some booking platforms).
    • Seasonal Packages & Deals: The property frequently offers seasonal promotions, such as "Adventure Together" (romantic packages) or special rates during specific times of the year. Examples of past promotions include up to 20% off bookings, or even specific rates for tent or Airstream bookings on select dates (e.g., starting from $159/night for tents or $199/night for Airstreams).
    • Local Discounts: "Cape Cod neighbors save" programs might be available, offering discounts to local residents.
    • Military & First Responder Discounts: Special rates are often extended to military personnel and first responders.
    • AAA/AARP Discount: Members of these organizations can frequently find savings.
    • Last-Minute Deals: Like many hospitality providers, AutoCamp might offer discounts on last-minute bookings to fill vacancies.
AutoCamp Cape Cod successfully carves out a niche for travelers who desire the best of both worlds: the freedom and connection to nature of camping, combined with the luxury and convenience of a high-end hotel, making it a compelling option for a memorable Cape Cod getaway.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful property where I met Peter, and I truly can’t say enough about the sincerity and warmth he brought to my stay. Traveling solo with a baby can be both beautiful and exhausting, but Peter’s kindness made a lasting impression during a time that can often feel overwhelming for new parents. Not only did he go out of his way to offer genuine hospitality, but he also took the initiative to create a thoughtful “mom package” filled with a few camping goodies—just for me. It was a small gesture in theory, but it carried so much heart and care. It made me feel seen, supported, and welcomed in a way that’s rare to find.

I recently visited AutoCamp for the first time, and it was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience! We went with a group of friends, cooked by the campfire, and had a great time catching up. The atmosphere was perfect for relaxing and enjoying nature while still having all the comforts you could ask for. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, always ready to assist with whatever we needed. If you’re looking for a unique getaway with friends or family, I highly recommend AutoCamp—it’s an unforgettable experience!

Autocamp is the way to go for glamping. They have everything covered- Firewood, s'mores packs, food, drinks, they have it all! The service was nothing less than exceptional. Can't wait to try other autocamps! They have QR codes around the camp to show you how to use certain features. The private showers are very clean. The clubhouse offers a range of events to keep you busy, or there's a scenic path that's great for running, biking, or walking.

My stay at AutoCamp was absolutely incredible! From the stylish, well-equipped Airstream suite to the cozy communal spaces and stunning natural surroundings, every detail was thoughtfully designed for comfort and relaxation. The staff was warm and welcoming. . Waking up to the serene views and enjoying the fire pit under the stars made it a truly unforgettable experience. I can’t wait to return—this is glamping at its finest!"
