We booked out stay with RCI, the timeshare trading company, and we had a wonderful time. First off, the staff was excellent! They were all incredibly friendly and happy to help. They gave us tips and recommendations. We couldn't have asked for nicer people. The location is great. There is a streetcar stop right outside the front door. Across the street is the Garden District, which has some of the most beautiful houses we have ever seen. Go wonder that area. We had a studio suite with a fridge, 2 burner stove top, and a microwave. We did use the stove top one morning to make breakfast, and it worked great. The view from the room was of the Super Dome, which was really cool to wake up to. We used the courtyard hottub every night. It got a little crowded at certain points of the night, but we always got our spot. The pool is on the small side but we were about the hot tub. The only thing I will mention is the room servicing. They do not do that daily, you must request it. We asked for trash to be removed and get replacement towels. They did not remove the trash and they did give us a new set of towels but didn't remove the dirty ones. We took care of it but it was a little odd. I wonder if that is because it's a time share? That is the only thing to mention everything else was beyond great. We will definitely come back and stay at Avenue Plaza.

It is located in a Hasidic Jewish community and we felt safe walking around to different shops and coming to the hotel after dark. Although the residents rarely said anything to us, there was a sense of tranquility on the streets. Located within walking distance of the subway.

Wasn’t aware that they were going to have discounted tours until arrival, and all of our tours were already booked. The beds/pillows are uncomfortable. Long waits on car service and hotel staff but they did make it none that they are short staffed. It’s a very short distance to the street car to access the city.

There's a Fresh Market 3/4 mile up St Charles that delivers groceries (or you can just walk like we did) and a higher end liquor store two doors down. Streetcar stop is across the street, nice gym with new equipment that works. Good central location away from but with easy access to all the insanity of French Quarter.
