We decided to stay in a B&B rather than a downtown hotel. The Parisian Courtyard was selected because of its history, ambiance, and proximity to St. Charles and the Trolley, Tulane Unv., the Garden District and the French Quarter. Check in was very easy. Our room was small, but comfortable. The home (hotel) was very quiet, secure and private. Parking was on the street in front of the hotel. Breakfast was wonderful. We were most impressed by the friendliness, courtesy and the privacy provided by the staff. If you do not want to stay in a downtown hotel and understand that this is an older, restored and well maintained home, then it would be difficult to find a better value than a stay at the Parisian Courtyard.
Hello, fellow Louisianians and anyone seeking a truly authentic and charming stay in the heart of New Orleans! While our city is famous for its vibrant downtown hotels and the non-stop energy of the French Quarter, sometimes a different kind of experience calls. Today, we're exploring the Parisian Courtyard Inn Bed and Breakfast New Orleans, a delightful alternative that offers historic ambiance, comfort, and a peaceful retreat away from the loudest crowds, while still keeping you connected to all the magic.
The Parisian Courtyard Inn is more than just a place to sleep; it’s a journey back in time within a beautifully restored home, offering a unique blend of privacy, personalized service, and Southern hospitality. We'll dive into what makes this Bed and Breakfast a beloved choice for those who appreciate history, a quieter setting, and a truly memorable stay in our beloved Crescent City.
The Parisian Courtyard Inn Bed and Breakfast New Orleans is nestled in the charming Garden District at 1726 Prytania St, New Orleans, LA 70130, USA. This location is a deliberate choice for guests who, as one reviewer put it, "didn’t want the noise of the French Quarter." Instead, it offers a "very quiet, secure and private" atmosphere within a beautiful, historic residential neighborhood.
Despite its peaceful setting, the Inn boasts excellent accessibility to many of New Orleans' prime attractions. It was chosen by one family due to its "proximity to St. Charles and the Trolley, Tulane Unv., the Garden District and the French Quarter." This is a significant highlight: the iconic St. Charles Avenue streetcar line is just a "short walk away" (as close as 3 minutes to the St. Charles at Euterpe Stop), providing an incredibly convenient and picturesque way to explore the city. You can "hop on the nearby streetcar line to explore even more of the city's iconic attractions," easily reaching areas like the French Quarter (about a 24-minute trolley ride) or Tulane University.
For those who prefer to drive, "Parking was on the street in front of the hotel," and more specifically, "Free self parking on site" is available, which is a rare and highly valued amenity in New Orleans. This eliminates the often-stressful search for parking or expensive parking fees associated with downtown hotels. The Inn's location in the Lower Garden District also means you are within a "10-minute walk" of the National World War II Museum, and just a short distance from Magazine Street, famous for its unique shops and local eateries. This balance of quiet charm and convenient access makes it an ideal base for diverse interests.

Personalized Guest Service: Guests consistently praise the "friendliness, courtesy and the privacy provided by the staff." Remarks like being "most impressed by the friendliness" and staff being "accommodating and welcoming" highlight a dedication to guest satisfaction. Complimentary Breakfast: A standout feature is the "wonderful" and "delicious and adequate" breakfast. It is a "free continental breakfast available daily between 8:30 AM and 10:00 AM." Some sources also indicate a "delicious cooked breakfast is served every day featuring eggs, bacon and freshly baked croissants," suggesting a hearty start to your day.

Free On-Site Self-Parking: This is a significant advantage, providing convenient and cost-free parking for guests directly at the property.

Attention to Detail in Decor: The interior is filled with "gorgeous china/breakables everywhere," adding to the elegant and historic decor, though this means it's "definitely not for children for any moms reading this!"
Value for Money: For those seeking an "older, restored and well maintained home" away from downtown hotel noise, guests affirm it would be "difficult to find a better value than a stay at the Parisian Courtyard."

Jul 02, 2024 · Mark StonecipherBeautiful Inn! Room was clean and gorgeous. Location felt very safe. Although I will say Brian the GM was unnecessarily rude. He talks to you as if you’re stupid and is just a generally unhappy gentleman. Maybe he was just having a bad weekend... Not saying I need Ms. Rachel to greet me at the front desk, but just maybe a tiny bit of hospitality (after traveling, arranging babysitters, and of course $200 a night) would have made the stay a 5 star. Definitely not for children for any moms reading this! Gorgeous china/breakables everywhere!
May 19, 2024 · Chelsey KingI've been visiting New Orleans for over 30 years and this is my favorite place to stay away. Beautiful building run by wonderful local people who provide great service in a historic location. You get a good breakfast and the perfect balance of history and New Orleans hospitality with the modern amenities of comfortable room and bath, instead of staying in a big hotel that feels like it could be anywhere in the country. We stayed in a king suite, and the photo is of the bed loft.
Nov 25, 2023 · Thomas PluckOur check-in was hassle free. They made sure we had all the information we needed upon check-in. And was always responsive. Room #9 was beautiful and very spacious with a parlor and separate sleeping area. There are quite a few stairs, though. The first morning was amazing. The second morning was different because there was no one on the property, only a lady cleaning, so when we came down for breakfast and there was no hot water for tea, we had to wait quite a bit and ask the cleaning lady to help us. She was, of course, supser friendly and kind. And no music the second morning. The breakfast was light, but ok for two mornings. Not a big variety, and the second day, the English muffins were stale, so the breakfast can take some work. It's only a block from the streetcar, which is great. Suggestions: better fresh breakfast, a hot water samovar to hold more hot water, dusting shelves and chandeliers, a host on the premises in business hours. It was a great stay, and hope to see it be even better.
Nov 16, 2023 · M. S.Would stay here again! Beautiful room (#6) and building, quiet neighborhood, nice complimentary breakfast (even had GF options), House of Hoodoo & Gris Gris within walking distance, and easy ride on the street car from a couple blocks away into the French Quarter (recommend the Jazzy passes). Brian was super friendly, with great recommendations for things to do no matter what the weather, and other staff were very helpful.
