We stayed here in June 2023 and had a great experience. Cute, minimalist rooms, perfect for a couples getaway. The grounds are awesome (loved the pools and sauna) and super convenient to various parts of the cape. We stayed here this past week and had a less than stellar stay. Check-in is at 4, but we received a text while driving down saying the office is closing at 6 with instructions on how to obtain keys “after hours”. Very weird to have only a 2 hour check in window, especially mid week. I know it’s not peak season but it’s still a hotel after all. Anyways, we pulled in just after 6 and there were people in the office so I popped in and they quickly ushered me out and told me the office was closed even though they were helping another guest. It was a very odd experience to have staff just inside the door essentially watching me use the lock box to obtain keys. For the cost, and what seemed to be a lack of guests at the hotel, I was disappointed in the service. Lastly, and I’m not sure why I didn’t notice this last time, but the walls between rooms are paper thin. The people next door were having a conversation in a normal tone of voice and it startled me awake at 6:30am because I thought someone was literally in the room with us. Just something to consider when staying here…a sound machine may be a good idea. I think for our next cape stay we may try different lodging. It’s a shame because we love the Bluebird chain and have had positive experiences at other hotels.

As a prime option within the "Hotels Near Of Me" category, Bluebird Dennisport offers a unique blend of modern comfort and a relaxed, beach-town atmosphere, making it an appealing choice for local users seeking a convenient and enjoyable getaway on Cape Cod.
Bluebird Dennisport is ideally situated at 426 Lower County Rd, Dennis Port, MA 02639, USA, placing guests within easy reach of the Cape's famed attractions. The hotel is tucked into what can be described as a "beach forest," creating a sense of tranquility and exclusivity while still being highly accessible. Its proximity to the beautiful beaches of Nantucket Sound is a significant draw; Sea Street Beach, a quiet stretch of golden sand, is just a short 10 to 13-minute walk away. West Dennis Beach is also a quick drive. This walkable location is frequently praised by guests, allowing for strolls to the beach, local restaurants, and ice cream shops without needing to drive.
The grounds of Bluebird Dennisport are designed for relaxation and enjoyment. Guests consistently highlight the "awesome" grounds, which feature expansive lawns, perfect for outdoor play or simply unwinding. The overall aesthetic is described as cute, minimalist, and chic, with modern updates that maintain a cozy, coastal feel. The property has a contemporary touch with natural hues, pale wood furniture, and wood-paneled walls in some rooms, reflecting a "dune shack-inspired" style. Fire pits scattered across the property are a particularly popular feature, inviting guests to gather, toast s'mores, and enjoy starlit evenings. While the hotel aims for a quiet and pleasant neighborhood experience, some guests have noted occasional noise from adjacent rooms due to thin walls, suggesting that a sound machine might be a good idea for light sleepers.
Bluebird Dennisport strives to provide a comfortable and convenient stay for its guests. The hotel offers 59 air-conditioned accommodations, including guest rooms, suites, and two-bedroom cottages. Each room is designed to be functional and stylish, equipped with essential amenities such as mini-fridges, microwaves (in some rooms), hair dryers, and complimentary toiletries in private bathrooms. Guests will find 32-inch Smart TVs with digital channels and free high-speed WiFi (50+ Mbps) in all rooms, ensuring connectivity and entertainment. Hypo-allergenic bedding is also provided, catering to guests with allergies. Housekeeping services are available upon request. Connecting/adjoining rooms can be requested, subject to availability, which is beneficial for families or groups.
A standout feature of Bluebird Dennisport is its impressive aquatic facilities. The hotel boasts both a seasonal outdoor pool and an indoor pool, offering swimming options regardless of the weather. The outdoor pool area is often described as great, clean, and providing ample seating with sunloungers and parasols. The indoor greenhouse pool is also a valued amenity, particularly for extending the swimming season. While the pools are generally well-received, some past guest feedback has indicated occasional issues with water clarity, leading to temporary closures for treatment. The property also features a hot tub, though at times it has also been reported as out of use for similar reasons as the pools.
For added convenience, the hotel provides luggage storage and vending machines on-site. Complimentary morning coffee is available in the lobby, a nice touch, although guests might wish for more substantial breakfast offerings like muffins, as noted by some. The front desk operates during limited hours (generally from 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM), and guests arriving after hours receive instructions for obtaining keys via a lock box. This check-in process has been described as "very odd" by some, particularly the limited window for in-person check-in. Tour and ticket assistance is also available for those looking to explore the local area.
Bluebird Dennisport is a family-friendly hotel that welcomes guests of all ages. Many rooms are pet-friendly, specifically allowing dogs up to 70 lbs (two per pet) for an extra charge of $35 per pet per day, making it an excellent choice for those traveling with their furry companions. Service animals are exempt from fees. The hotel's emphasis on communal outdoor spaces, like the fire pits and expansive lawns, fosters a laid-back and social atmosphere, perfect for making memories with loved ones. S'mores kits can even be purchased from reception, adding to the classic summer experience.
The hotel offers a variety of room types to suit different needs, including King Rooms, Double Queen Rooms, Deluxe Rooms, King Suites, and Two-Bedroom Cottages. The cottages, in particular, provide more space with full kitchens and living areas, making them ideal for families or small groups seeking a more extended stay or self-catering options. Some reviews highlight the cleanliness and modern furnishings of the rooms, while others suggest a lack of dressers or closets for unpacking in some units. The property also has ADA-standard King Rooms, which are adapted for guests with limited mobility, and the front office and pool areas are wheelchair-accessible via ramps.
Bluebird Dennisport aims to provide an affordable yet stylish vacation on Cape Cod, positioning itself as a "mid-Cape escape." It's part of the Bluebird chain, known for its boutique hotel offerings, and some guests have had positive experiences at other properties within the chain. The hotel is generally open between May and October each year, aligning with the Cape Cod vacation season. While reviews often commend the hotel's charming decor, cleanliness, and excellent location, particularly its proximity to beaches, dining, and shops, there are consistent points of feedback regarding service and soundproofing.
Promotional messaging often highlights the convenience and charm of the property, emphasizing relaxation by the pools, gathering around fire pits, and easy access to local attractions. However, some guests have noted that the service, particularly regarding limited front desk hours and a perceived lack of proactive assistance, could be improved. The thin walls between rooms are a recurring concern, impacting the quiet enjoyment of some guests. Despite these points, many visitors find the overall experience positive, appreciating the updated rooms, friendly staff, and the vibrant, yet relaxed, atmosphere of Dennis Port. For those seeking a well-located, stylish, and pet-friendly base for exploring Cape Cod, Bluebird Dennisport presents a solid option, especially if prepared for some of the mentioned quirks.

Sep 28, 2024 · Meredith BOverall it was a great stay. The rooms are very clean and well furnished. Service was great, everyone was responsive and kind. The only problem is that they couldn’t get the pools right: at the end of the day it would be cloudy and they had to close it down to treat the water. Sauna was out of use for the same reason. I would’ve also liked some backyard games as other Bluebird hotels have. Perhaps some muffins along with the weak coffee would’ve been a nice addition. We enjoyed it but it can definitely be better!
Jul 21, 2024 · Alexandra DWe returned to the Bluebird Dennisport (formerly known as the Colonial Village Motel) this week as a getaway. We had spent our honeymoon here 43 years ago and wanted to see the renovations. We were not disappointed. The rooms are very nice and modern. The “wet bar” contains a sink, refrigerator, hot pot, and microwave (no dishes or utensils). Coffee is available in the main lobby but we like our coffee very early so we brought our own coffee maker. The AC worked great. The pools are very nice with lots of loungers. The beautiful beach is less than a 10 minute walk. When we told the staff we stayed here 43 years ago, they brought us an anniversary cake. So thoughtful!! We plan to return to the Bluebird in the future with our granddaughters. Thank you for a great stay.
Jun 29, 2024 · Joan WardThe service was good, the location is good. The hotel's facilities aren't acceptable. It's pet friendly. Doesn't have breakfast, just coffe. There are 2 great pool, with one hot tub, but doesn't get warmer, so the second day I was there it was cold and I didn't enjoyed nothing. For the money that I paid it's not worth it. Unfortunately I forgot to look at the place evaluation because it's 3,9, it says a lot about the place. I think id there was a hot pool everything it would worth it. That's it.
May 26, 2024 · Andressa TulioWe recently stayed here for a wedding, with a required stay of two nights. Unfortunately the hotel did not live up to the images on the website site. The rooms were dark and very sparse. We could hear our neighbors banging doors, yelling and partying until 3am, there is nobody on site to help with this at night. We found the building to be very rundown, including our room. There was not enough parking and we had drive around both nights looking for spots. Management told me they were aware of the noise issues and were working on it. Yet they charge outrageous prices for a stay in a very basic hotel.
