We signed for a 2 BR, but received a small 1 BR. They wouldn't change it, told me I had to contact original Time Share application. We made do, but not comfortably. There was no one on site for the week. We had to contact a place a few miles away if we had an issue. This place is across the street from the ocean. We could see glimpses of the sunrise & sunsets and they were fabulous. The outside steps need to be replaced.

Seawinds II Resort Introduce

For those navigating the "Hotels Near Of Me" category in search of an ideal Cape Cod escape, Seawinds II Resort in Dennis Port, MA, presents itself as a compelling option. Located at 128 Old Wharf Rd, Dennis Port, MA 02639, USA, this resort is particularly attractive for its proximity to the ocean and its self-contained, apartment-style accommodations, appealing to both timeshare owners and general vacationers looking for a comfortable stay near the beach.

Environment: Ocean Breezes and Cape Cod Charm

The prime draw of Seawinds II Resort is its exceptional environment, positioned directly across the street from the ocean. This offers guests "glimpses of the sunrise & sunsets" that are described as "fabulous," creating a truly scenic and relaxing atmosphere. While it's noted that the property isn't directly on the sand but across the street, its immediate vicinity to the beach ensures easy access to the pristine shores of Cape Cod. The resort boasts a 120-foot stretch of private sandy beach just steps away, providing an exclusive and less crowded experience for guests. The soothing sounds of the waves and the invigorating salty air are constant companions, contributing to a quintessential Cape Cod vacation feel. The immediate area around the resort is characterized by its coastal beauty and the relaxed charm of Dennis Port, a popular summer destination. Guests can enjoy strolls along the beach, explore nearby natural attractions, or simply unwind in the peaceful setting. The exterior of the property includes a large rear yard, often equipped with barbecue pits and picnic tables, encouraging outdoor relaxation and gatherings. Some units may even offer beach views from their private patios or living areas, further enhancing the seaside experience.

Services and Amenities: Comforts of Home by the Sea

Seawinds II Resort aims to provide the "comforts of home" within its units, catering to guests who prefer self-sufficiency during their vacation. The accommodations primarily consist of one-bedroom and two-bedroom suites, designed to house varying group sizes. One-bedroom units typically feature a queen-size bed in the bedroom, a queen sleeper sofa in the living area, a full kitchen, a dining area, a fireplace, and one bathroom. Two-bedroom units expand on this, often including two queen beds, a queen sleeper sofa, and two full bathrooms. Each unit is generally equipped with a full kitchen, including a full-sized refrigerator/freezer, stove, oven, microwave, toaster, coffeemaker, and dishwasher, allowing guests to prepare their own meals. In-room amenities often include air conditioning, heating, flat-panel TVs, DVD players, complimentary wireless internet access (with reported speeds of 50+ Mbps), an in-unit telephone, an iron and ironing board, and a hair dryer.

While the resort operates with a limited-hour front desk (typically open daily from 8:00 AM - 10:00 PM), requiring guests to sometimes check in at a "sister company" or managing hotel located a few miles away if there are issues, the overall goal is to ensure a comfortable stay. On-site shared amenities include picnic areas and barbecue grills, perfect for enjoying outdoor meals. A notable amenity is the access for Seawinds II guests to the facilities at the Edgewater Beach Resort, which may include indoor and outdoor pools and a fitness center. This provides additional recreational opportunities beyond the direct beach access. Free self-parking is available on-site, adding to guest convenience.

Features: Timeshare Heritage and Unit Specifics

Seawinds II Resort has a strong identity rooted in its timeshare ownership structure, with many guests being long-time owners. This aspect influences some of the resort's operational nuances, including the availability of specific weeks and the management of unit maintenance. Customer reviews highlight that while units generally offer "creature comforts," there can be inconsistencies in maintenance and updating. Examples cited include a broken window in one unit persisting for years, a non-functional fireplace, missing screens on bathroom windows, and issues with towel rack placement or curtain types. It is worth noting, however, that the resort is managed by VRI Americas, whose parent company Capital Vacations is actively involved in a sales program to increase ownership and presumably, investment in the property. This suggests ongoing efforts to improve and maintain the units. The shift in managing resorts and the sale of certain timeshare weeks have also impacted the experience for some long-standing owners, affecting their ability to switch weeks as they previously did. Despite these points, the underlying sentiment from loyal guests is often one of affection for the location and its inherent charm. The resort consists of a small complex, with some sources indicating only 6 apartments, contributing to a more intimate and less crowded feel than larger hotel chains. The presence of a private sandy beach directly across the street is a significant and highly valued feature, providing an exclusive and convenient beach experience. While some external steps have been noted as needing replacement, the overall positive location and internal amenities often outweigh these concerns for many visitors.

I love this place, I really do. I've owned my timeshare here for almost 20 years and have stayed at the same location almost every time. So why only 4 stars? Because things change and not always for the better. The resort now managing Seawinds tries very hard to accommodate but has fallen short of late. There was no week available for me due to a sale of the weeks I usually switch to. Maybe not their fault but I'm not happy. In the last 1p years, at least, I have switched my late April week to an early June. Now these weeks have been sold and aren't available at my home resort. Which is where I prefer to stay and why I bought there in the first place. The accommodations seem to fluctuate as well. While I appreciate the new towels this year and I think even new mattresses, why is there still a broken window in the bathroom of unit 4 for at least 4 years? Why doesn't the fireplace work in unit 4 (which is why I was moved to another unit)? Why is there still no screen on the bathroom window in unit 1? Why was the towel rack in the bathroom of unit 1 fixed (finally) so that the towels hang on the floor? Why are all the window sheers disappearing and the regular double front window curtains being replaced with a single curtain? The sheers provide a little privacy while still letting light in and the double front curtain is far easier to open than the 1 single. And why, oh why, was there difficulty with the cable the entire week I was there? This is something that comes up when you're not a peak visitor and everything closes at 8 or 9. Is this a good location? Yes. Does it have a beach? Yes. Are there creature comforts in the room? Yes. Are there things to do close by? Yes. So again, I really, really love Seawinds. I like that the managing hotel is trying. I just think somewhere the ball is being dropped.

A friend owns a condo here on Cape Cod and this condo that we stayed at belongs to her neighbor. We were there offseason and we found the place quite nice. I recommend it.

The new paint looks good, but curtains need to be replaced and the living room and kitchen need Spring Cleaning. The view is terrific.
