So, to begin. I was happy with the cleanliness of the room. That was a good thing. When, using the toilet, you had to hold down the handle for it to fully flush and it was really loud when flushing. When arriving to the room I saw that there was a mostly used toilet paper roll, I am guessing from the previous guest that was on there. It was a mostly used roll and we were only left another roll. That means that we had like 1 full toilet paper roll and maybe 1 third of the used roll. It was a little off putting almost like there was cost cutting or something with the housekeeping staff trying to save money or something. Also, we were only given 2 towels to start. I will preface this next part as carefully as I can. We did not want housekeeping in our room and kept the privacy sign up just as our own preference when traveling. This means that when we wanted new towels and toilet paper rolls that we went to the front desk. We did this a few times during our stay. We kept being told by the front desk that they did not have toilet paper at the front desk and that someone would bring them to us. It never happened until we kept calling the front desk, even offering to come back downstairs to the front desk if that’s easier. Then, we went to the pool and they were out of towels down there. The front desk person almost seemed like he didn’t believe us. We were told the towels would be brought to the pool and that never happened. We ended up having to go to the fitness room for the small towels there. We used a few each to equal a normally sized towel. Also, for the breakfast we were told that they only take 5 minutes to make the breakfast and that was not true as well. I’m not sure if they are just told here to just say what I want to hear because they only kept making me disappointed with their service and feeling like I had to keep following up to get anything done that I needed.

Jun 13, 2025 · Hannah KasbohmI recently stayed at the Cambria Hotel in Rockville and, unfortunately, the experience was well below expectations, especially considering I spent over £1,000 on the stay. From the outset, the room was clearly unfinished: baseboards were missing, tape was left hanging from the ceiling (presumably post-renovation), and the Wi-Fi was non-functional throughout the stay. Several advertised facilities—including the gym, pool/fitness area, and laundry were completely out of service. Another guest told me that the pool and gym had been out of action for some time. The most concerning issue arose when we returned one evening to find the bottom of our door damaged, appearing as if there had been a possible attempted break-in. We were moved to a new room, but the problems persisted. This second room was dirty, with dust on mirrors, suspicious stains on the mattress (discovered only upon checkout), and some kind of sticky residue on the bedside tables. Basic cleanliness and maintenance are clearly not a priority at this hotel - even the elevator showed signs of vandalism damage that hasn’t been repaired. Adding to the frustration, housekeeping is only available upon request, something we were not made aware of until after checking in. When I raised these issues and requested a partial refund, the hotel initially offered a free breakfast (which frankly felt insulting), and then later offered a deduction of just one night’s room rate. Given the breadth of issues, this felt wholly inadequate. Positives? The location is convenient for Rockville Town Center and the Metro, and the rooms are a decent size. But that’s where the praise ends. There are certainly cleaner, better-maintained, and more reasonably priced options in the wider area. I’d strongly advise looking elsewhere unless proximity to the Metro is your top (and only) priority.
May 21, 2025 · Kieran LewerI have traveled all over the world and know and accept there is a lot of variation in room quality and service. I have never felt compelled to write a review until now. When we entered our room, I noticed the bathroom looked half cleaned. There was a half bottle of lotion on the counter, no bar soap, and very little toilet paper, although there were fresh towels. I asked for soap and they said they hadn’t unpacked the latest shipment and would bring some up. They didn’t. Later that night they did. The bed was hard and the room wasn’t completely clean. In the morning, the shower didn’t work—no water at all. We asked to change rooms and they matter of factly said none of the rooms had water with a shoulder shrug, offering no options or timeline of when the problem might be fixed. We checked out immediately and they did not offer an apology or credit. We quickly moved to the Hilton and they offered great service.
Jun 05, 2025 · Susan DiekmanStayed for two nights on a last minute booking due to a family emergency. Love the location and atmosphere of the lobby and surrounding area. There were plenty of places to eat in easy walking distance and it was pleasant and safe to do so. Parking is $20 a day which is kind of steep seeing as the gauge only a block away was going for $4.50 a day. We paid it anyway because we were in a rush but I wouldn’t in the future. We were in a second floor corner room. The hallway and room had a musty smell. After turning on the AC and running it for a few hours the smell got better but never went away. The corner unit was very spacious and had a great people watching view. There were good privacy and black out curtains for when we didn’t want to be seen. The room layout was odd. It was apparent they used the exact same furniture as the much smaller adjacent rooms making the room feel empty. The bathroom was also in the middle of the unit making the bedroom wrap around it giving the room an awkward long feel. All in all the Architect and Interior designers that designed this room really dropped the ball and missed out on what could have been a great corner unit.
Mar 22, 2025 · Bryan HExhausted after a long day of traveling, I was greeted by Brian’s huge smile. Brian was informative, accommodating and kind. Exactly what I needed. His hospitality and professionalism sets him far above others. And yes, the rooms are wonderful and the location is perfect! Highly recommend.
