Candlewood Suites Knoxville Airport-Alcoa generally promotes its convenient airport location, extended-stay amenities like full kitchens and free laundry, and its pet-friendly policy. The customer reviews available for this hotel are overwhelmingly positive, directly contradicting some "recent bad reviews" that one guest dismisses as "not seem to be describing this place." Guests consistently praise the "exceptional location," "convenience," and the efficiency of the "complimentary shuttle service." The cleanliness and modern appearance of the rooms are frequently highlighted, with descriptions like "clean and modern," "very comfortable bed," and an "immaculate" environment. The staff is often implicitly praised through the positive experiences guests have, indicating a well-run operation. The availability of diverse dining options within walking distance is also a significant promotional point. However, to provide a fully objective view, one guest did note a specific "downside of the top floor" where "a smoker below me used their bathroom as some sort of private smoking booth so my bathroom was unbearable most of the time." While this is acknowledged as being "against the rules" and something the hotel "can't stop someone from being selfish," it is a potential issue for guests sensitive to smoke. Another general consideration for extended-stay hotels is the "inevitable weird cooking smells in the rooms and hallways" due to guests preparing meals, which one reviewer found "worth it" but still noted. Overall, the positive experiences shared by multiple guests, emphasizing cleanliness, convenience, and functional amenities, strongly suggest that Candlewood Suites Knoxville Airport-Alcoa by IHG lives up to its promotional claims and offers a reliable and comfortable stay, particularly for those needing extended lodging or seamless airport access via the "Hotels Near Of Me" platform.

Apr 09, 2025 · Erica AnthonyNot sure where the recent bad reviews are coming from. They don't seem to be describing this place. Very well maintained facility. My room on the third floor was clean and modern. Very comfortable bed, great air conditioner, quiet refrigerator, well stocked mini kitchen and good lighting, excellent in-room work space. That's all I ask for for business travel. Please note, this is a long-stay hotel so there are inevitable weird cooking smells in the rooms and hallways but it's worth it. One downside of the top floor: a smoker below me used their bathroom as some sort of private smoking booth so my bathroom was unbearable most of the time. It's against the rules of course, but a hotel can't stop someone from being selfish.
Apr 05, 2025 · Lynne ViescasHotel was definitely not in good shape. Thought since it was by the airport that it would be halfway decent. Boy was I wrong. The hotel scenery is of ppl in the parking lot hanging out, including workers. The hotel hallways had a rank smell , first thing I noticed. Then I get on the old elevator that somehow also smells. The hallways weren’t even vacuumed. You can tell that they do not care to even try to clean the common areas , outside of right in front by the front desk. Trash cans in hallway were full with overflowing trash bags on the floor next to trash can. Of course housekeeping didn’t clean that either. The room once I got in, had a terrible urine smell or something. I can’t quite describe but it was grotesque to say the least. I planned on staying for a week but after day two I had had enough and checked out. Of course the hotel didn’t refund the remainder of my stay since I only stayed 2 out of 7 days . But it’s fine, luckily Expedia compensated me. This hotel clearly serves the locals and it’s just old and run down. I would not recommend this to anyone. The manager seems to be racist too. But yea, stay away from here by all means.
May 13, 2025 · J. BrownOne of the worst IHG experiences I’ve ever had. I can’t believe the parent corporation lets this stuff fly. They should rebrand to motel 6. Here’s what happened: The lights in the parking lot were great for unloading but menacing once I was in my room. As I went to the room, the hallways stunk like a locker room. Into my room, it wasn’t much better. Had to do what I could to mask the smell. As I was settling in, I set my foot down on the floor and felt a sharp burning pain. A freaking wasp was on the floor and stung my foot. Where the hell did the wasp come from?!? It was just laying on the floor. As I searched the room for any other stinging insects or lions or tigers or bears… I started noticing just how unclean the room was. I found a place along the baseboard where a hole was stuffed with scouring pads… inevitably to cover up a mouse hole. Add the stains in the kitchenette and bathroom… just wow. Seems like the owners are just coasting downhill until the franchisor does something about it. Never again.
Apr 06, 2025 · William ReganMy experience started in the lobby of the hotel as I was greeted by the sweetest and most respectful set of women I had ever met named Erica and her manager Tracy. They were quick to get my family and I set up with our arrangements and get us settled. The rooms were exactly what we needed and expected - organized, clean, and spacious. We also brought our family dog with us (anyone who owns a dog knows they are an extension to your family). There was an abundance of food and drinks in the lobby for purchase if you dont feel like getting out and about. The coolest feature I saw during our stay was the "lending locker" in the lobby where you can borrow different items and being them back when youre finished! Erica and Tracy, as well as the housekeepers, were more than helpful with everything we needed on our trip through town and we will absolutely be stopping at Candlewood Suites again.
