We booked central house for our October wedding and it was overall a nice experience. Staff was not too helpful when it came to setting up/ taking things down and their is no actual “wedding coordinator” on site just Tammy the resort owner who doesn’t coordinate much at all and you’re pretty much on your own. I’m not sure if Tammy was having an off night or something but she was pretty rude to us as well as the DJ because we were running a little behind schedule. Bartender was very pleasant and made great drinks. You also must take everything down yourself that night as staff only cleans tableware and dishes which would’ve been nice to know before the wedding ended. Overall it was about 7k for our wedding of 100 people and I feel for that kind of money it could’ve been a tad more accommodating to the brides. The food was pretty good and so were the rooms were clean. The bonfire at the end was a nice touch.

Central House Family Resort Introduce

For those navigating the "Hotels Near Of Me" platform in search of a resort that caters to both family vacations and special events like weddings, Central House Family Resort in Beach Lake, PA, offers a distinctive option. Located at 81 Milanville Rd, Beach Lake, PA 18405, USA, this resort is nestled in a picturesque area of the Pocono Mountains, known for its natural beauty and tranquility. You can reach them directly at (570) 729-7411 or via mobile at +1 570-729-7411.

The environment of Central House Family Resort is a significant draw, particularly for events and tranquil getaways. Situated in Beach Lake, PA, the resort benefits from the serene and scenic backdrop of the Pocono Mountains. The area is characterized by its lush natural landscapes, providing a picturesque setting for outdoor activities and beautiful photo opportunities, especially for weddings. The description of "beautiful scenery" for wedding photos attests to the aesthetic appeal of the surroundings. As a "family resort," the environment is likely geared towards providing a safe, comfortable, and engaging atmosphere for guests of all ages. While specific details on sprawling grounds or particular natural features are not provided, the general location implies a peaceful, non-urban setting where guests can relax and enjoy the outdoors. The presence of a bonfire, as mentioned in a review, further indicates outdoor amenities designed to enhance the evening ambiance, contributing to a cozy and rustic feel.

Central House Family Resort offers a range of services, particularly those catering to events and guest comfort. A primary service highlighted by customer reviews is its capability as a wedding venue, including catering. The food provided for weddings is consistently praised as "amazing" and "pretty good," with guests "raved about the food." The presence of a bar and a "very pleasant" bartender who makes "great drinks" is also a significant service for events. For overnight guests, "clean rooms" are a fundamental service, ensuring a comfortable stay. While the resort is family-owned and operated by Tammy and Fred, who are noted as "sweet, very helpful and knowledgeable of the wedding business," there appears to be a divergence in expectations regarding event coordination services. One review states there is "no actual 'wedding coordinator' on site" and that guests are "pretty much on your own" for setup and takedown beyond tableware and dishes. However, another review contradicts this, praising Tammy and Fred for helping "every step of the way when planning" and being "very organized and friendly." This suggests that while formal wedding coordination might not be a dedicated role, the owners are highly involved in guiding couples through the planning process. Standard resort services like managing reservations and providing general guest assistance would also be expected.

The features of Central House Family Resort are designed to accommodate both leisure stays and large-scale events. For accommodations, the "rooms were clean," which is a fundamental and highly valued feature for any lodging. While specific room amenities are not detailed, a "family resort" context typically implies rooms suitable for various group sizes, potentially including multiple beds or connecting options. For wedding events, the resort provides the necessary infrastructure for both the ceremony and reception, including dining facilities for catering. The "bonfire at the end" is a charming and memorable feature for events, adding a unique touch to celebrations. The overall property offers a cohesive space where guests can stay, dine, and celebrate. The "scenery" itself acts as a feature, providing a beautiful backdrop. The capacity to host 100 people for a wedding indicates that the resort has substantial event spaces. The presence of owners Tammy and Fred, who are actively involved, can be considered a key feature, providing a direct, personal connection to the management, which can be both a strength and, in some cases, a point of varied expectation, as seen in the reviews.

Promotional information for Central House Family Resort would undoubtedly center on its dual appeal as a family getaway destination and a wedding venue in the Poconos. For weddings, promotions would highlight the "beautiful scenery" for photos, the "amazing food" that guests rave about, and the personal involvement of owners Tammy and Fred in the planning process. Testimonials from satisfied wedding couples, like the one stating "10/10 would HIGHLY recommend," would be prominently featured. For family vacations, the "family resort" aspect would be emphasized, focusing on the peaceful environment and opportunities for relaxation and enjoyment. The presence of a bonfire for evening gatherings would be an attractive feature. Given the phone numbers provided, direct booking and inquiries would be encouraged, allowing potential guests to speak directly with the resort about their specific needs, especially for wedding planning. Promotional materials would likely showcase idyllic images of the property, perhaps focusing on outdoor spaces and dining setups. The value proposition for weddings, with a quoted price of around $7,000 for 100 people, might also be a promotional point for budget-conscious couples looking for an all-inclusive or semi-inclusive venue. The potential for a comprehensive and memorable event, as highlighted by positive reviews, would be a key marketing message.

In conclusion, Central House Family Resort in Beach Lake, PA, presents itself as a versatile option within the "Hotels Near Of Me" category, particularly strong for those seeking a tranquil Poconos retreat or a rustic wedding venue. Its beautiful natural environment sets a picturesque scene for any occasion. The resort's core strength lies in its highly-praised food quality for events and generally clean rooms for overnight stays. However, an objective introduction necessitates acknowledging the nuanced feedback regarding wedding coordination. While some guests experienced less direct coordination support from the owners, feeling "pretty much on your own" for setup/takedown beyond basic services, other reviews laud Tammy and Fred for being "sweet, very helpful and knowledgeable" and assisting "every step of the way." This suggests that prospective wedding couples should clarify their expectations regarding the level of hands-on coordination provided versus what they might need to manage themselves. Despite this, the consistent positive remarks about the food, the scenic beauty, and the overall experience for a special event, combined with the comfortable accommodations, make Central House Family Resort a notable contender for those considering a Poconos destination for their family getaway or significant celebration.

Our non-profit organization held our annual conference at the Central House Resort in October and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Their Carriage House room worked extremely well for our meetings and the location near the lake was beautiful. Rooms were clean, comfortable, and affordable. We planned our dates to take advantage of the fall foliage colors and weren't disappointed! Tammy and Fred were great hosts and when I'm back in the area, I'll stay there again.

Had a room in the "off season". Very clean, beautiful setting, the management needs to work on their accessibility during off season so that guests can reach them when situations arise. But they were helpful, friendly and I liked my accommodations. Update: again during off season, the management was very accessible this time. Still 4 stars because my room was, great, but my brother's room had no working heat so he was chilly all night.

Tammy, the owner, is incredibly rude and she's a liar. I stayed at Central House for my cousin's wedding. Tammy practically met me at my car interrogating me about if I had spoken with the bride because she owed her money, as if that's any of my business. I'm not the only guest she met in this manner. When I called to book my room, she told me there was one room left and it had a queen bed. I told her that would not work for me, my daughter and granddaughter and suddenly, there was a room available with two twins. That was fine, we brought a pack n play for the baby. One room on one side of us and two rooms on the other side were empty both nights we stayed so I guess she must have had last minute cancellations. I think it's more likely she lied about how full the resort was when I called. We arrived after 12 hours on the road and just wanted to take showers and go to bed but there was no hot water. I called the desk and Tammy's immediately response was, "Well, no one else has complained. You just have to let it run for a little bit." We had let it run for 10 minutes. We timed it. So we went to bed dirty (the beds were hard as rocks, literally like sleeping on the ground) and asked to have someone look into it while we were at breakfast the next morning (we had to go into town because it's not provided). Fred came into our room and "got water so hot he could barely run his hand under it." Apparently 12 minutes is the length of time it takes for the heat. We were put room 602 which is a handicapped room. But there's only a shower, no tub, with no lip to keep water in. So we had to give the baby a bath in another cousin's room and the entire floor in the bathroom was soaked and very slippery. We used the bath mat and one of the towels to soak up some of the water and when we asked for a couple more towels at the office we were told we would have to bring the wet towels to trade them in or wait for housekeeping. There is black mold where the shower floor meets the tile of the bathroom floor. I reached to turn on the lamp to change a diaper when the baby woke in the middle of the night and the socket was pulled completely out of the stem of the lamp. And I have heard of hotels flipping sheets inside out instead of washing them between customers but have never witnessed it until this weekend. The sheets on my bed were inside out. Tammy is such a stickler, I can hardly believe her housekeeping staff isn't drilled on how to dress a bed properly. The wedding was nice, beautiful. However, there were not enough places set for dinner. I called her to ask if she would set up another table and she outright refused. She told one of the bridesmaids she couldn't do it because of fire codes. She told me it just would not be done. Then she yelled at me that I was ruining my cousin's wedding because she was going to have to interrupt her pictures to talk to her about the seating. She blamed the bride for not having made a seating chart. We took 8 chairs from a corner and squeezed them in at tables already set and they did eventually set up a 4 top table in the corner of which all seats were filled. My cousin was told places would be set only for people who RSVP'd. I doubt 12 people showed up who had not RSVP'd but that was Tammy's story. The food was bland and mediocre. The staff were very nice, aside from the woman from the kitchen who came out into the room to tell one cousin's husband that his wife was rude because she went into the kitchen asking where we could find chairs. When I was on the phone with Tammy about the chairs and mentioned the 1 star review I was writing in my head, she said, "Oh that's nice. Come on back!" I told her I most certainly will not and I don't ever plan to break my word. She is incredibly rude and unaccommodating. Reading other reviews, it seems like she has regulars that she caters to and everyone else is just someone to get money from. She is very much all about the money.
