It's a nice quaint motel. Does the trick if you need a place to stay. There is a little cafe attached called java and more which is very clean and very nice. They sell beer, wine, and coffee and have a large selection of frappes. The new manager Jason was very pleasant and accommodating so that's a plus

Wayne Inn Introduce

For local users and visitors alike, when the search for "Hotels Near Of Me" leads to Honesdale, Pennsylvania, the Wayne Inn at 100 Terrace St, Honesdale, PA 18431, USA, presents itself as a distinct and historically significant option. Reachable at (570) 616-0199 or via mobile at +1 570-616-0199, the Wayne Inn offers a blend of quaint charm and practicality. This introduction aims to provide a comprehensive and objective overview of the hotel, drawing from publicly available information and real customer reviews, covering its environment, services, features, and any implied promotional aspects.

The environment of the Wayne Inn is deeply rooted in its history and location within Honesdale. Described as a "nice quaint motel" and a "beautiful piece of history," the inn exudes a character that stands apart from modern, chain hotels. Its age, with a mention of "almost 200 year old woodwork," suggests a building with a rich past, offering a glimpse "back in history." While this historical aspect provides a unique atmosphere, it also comes with certain considerations, as one review notes it "really needs some TLC and a few improvements before it falls into disrepair," particularly concerning the preservation of its historic woodwork. Despite this, the overall ambiance is one of comfortable antiquity. The location on Terrace Street in Honesdale places it within a town known for its historic charm and access to the natural beauty of the Poconos region, though the immediate surroundings of the inn itself are more focused on the quaint, historical architecture. The atmosphere is further enhanced by its purported "haunted history," adding an intriguing and somewhat whimsical layer to the environment, particularly for those interested in local lore and unique experiences.

The services at Wayne Inn are tailored to provide a straightforward and pleasant stay, with a notable personal touch. A significant positive mentioned by guests is the presence of the "new manager Jason," who is described as "very pleasant and accommodating," highlighting a commitment to guest satisfaction and service quality. This personal interaction with management can significantly enhance a guest's experience, providing a level of care often found in smaller, independently run establishments. The inn "does the trick if you need a place to stay," indicating its reliable functionality for basic accommodation needs. A major service enhancement is the attached "little cafe called Java and More." This cafe is described as "very clean and very nice" and provides essential amenities for guests, including "beer, wine, and coffee" and a "large selection of frappes." This on-site dining and beverage option adds considerable convenience, allowing guests to grab a quick bite or a drink without leaving the property. While not a full-service restaurant, it fulfills a vital role for weary travelers. The rooms themselves are consistently described as "super clean and comfortable," indicating a strong focus on hygiene and guest comfort, which are fundamental services for any accommodation. Despite some rooms being "not as large," the general cleanliness and comfort are praised, ensuring a satisfactory stay for most visitors. However, a specific service challenge noted is the inconsistent water temperature in showers, where one guest experienced being "frozen then scalded a time or two," suggesting an area for potential service improvement. The lack of an elevator is also mentioned, which could be a significant service limitation for guests with mobility issues.

The features of the Wayne Inn are largely defined by its historical character and its attached amenities. The primary feature is its status as a "super old" building with a rich past, nearly two centuries old. This age contributes to its "haunted history" and the presence of "almost 200 year old woodwork," offering a unique aesthetic that appeals to those who appreciate heritage properties over modern designs. The attached "Java and More" cafe is a significant feature, providing not just coffee but also "beer, wine," and a range of "frappes." This bistro-like offering, along with a "wine room," creates a convenient and pleasant social space for guests. The guest rooms, while varied in size, are consistently described as "super clean and comfortable." One room was specifically lauded as "beautiful and roomy," indicating that some accommodations offer a more spacious and aesthetically pleasing experience. However, a very distinctive feature, albeit one that presents a challenge, is the size of the bathrooms. They are noted as "SUPER small," presumably "Converted from a water closet," and a reviewer suggests a "larger person would have trouble using them." This is a direct consequence of the building's age and historical architecture, serving as a reminder that the inn offers "a peak back in history" rather than modern luxury. The absence of an elevator is another feature stemming from its age, which guests requiring mobility assistance should be aware of. Despite these potential drawbacks, the unique character, cleanliness, and the convenience of the attached cafe are strong distinguishing features of the Wayne Inn.

Promotional information for the Wayne Inn can be inferred from the positive aspects highlighted in customer reviews. The repeated emphasis on it being a "nice quaint motel" that "Does the trick if you need a place to stay" positions it as a reliable and charming option for travelers seeking practical accommodation with character. The praise for the "new manager Jason" and his "pleasant and accommodating" demeanor serves as a strong promotional point, highlighting the personal and attentive service guests can expect. The attached "Java and More" cafe, with its clean atmosphere and varied offerings of coffee, beer, and wine, acts as a significant draw and a convenient amenity, effectively promoting the overall guest experience. The mention of its "haunted history" can also be a unique promotional angle, appealing to travelers interested in paranormal tourism or simply those seeking a memorable, story-rich stay. The recommendation to visit "if you aren't expecting luxury but a peak back in history" clearly defines its market and sets appropriate expectations, effectively promoting it to a niche audience that values historical authenticity over modern amenities. While not explicitly stated promotions, the combined positive experiences and unique features outlined in the reviews serve as compelling reasons for travelers to consider the Wayne Inn when looking for "Hotels Near Of Me" in Honesdale, especially those who appreciate local history and a personal touch.

Loved the atmosphere with the haunted history. Loved the Bistro and wine room. The hotel is super old as expected. The bathrooms are SUPER small. Converted from a water closet I presume. A larger person would have trouble using them. Rooms were super clean and comfortable. Ours was beautiful and roomy but all rooms are not as large. My shower was as fast as possible after I was frozen then scalded a time or two. It's a beautiful piece of history that really needs some TLC and a few improvements before it falls into disrepair. Protecting that almost 200 year old woodwork would be a start! There is also no elevator that some people may require. I recommend if you aren't expecting luxury but a peak back in history.

This place is a dump. The bathroom was disgusting—dirty and stains everywhere. The floor seemed to be covered with sand and grit. The room had a terrible smell. The parking lot is filled with potholes. For $110 a night definitely not worth it. Do not recommend.

Friendly responsive staff. Minor infrastructure issues due to the age of the building. No alarm clocks in rooms. No dedicated USB chargers in rooms.

Our family rented 3 rooms with each one worse than the next. Ours had mystery stains (of all kinds) on every possible surface. Room smelled of mold, sweat and cigarette smoke. (There’s an “ash can” filled with sand in front of nearly every room!). And the cockroaches that scurried on the wall had no fear. I discarded the gross bedspread & slept fully clothed. Lots of shady characters hanging around outside or I would have slept in our car. I’m honestly suspect of all the favorable reviews. It does not give me joy to write a bad one, but people need to be warned.
