Phil has turned this historic location into an amazing place to stay. The rooms are cozy and full of little bits of history and paintings. The cool factor was the 200+ year old skeleton keys. My family will definitely be back again to explore more of the Inn. 19/10 Recommend ❤️

The environment of Moonshadow Inn is perhaps its most captivating aspect, and it's what truly sets it apart from more conventional lodging options. Originally known as The Beach Lake Hotel and boasting over 200 years of history, the inn has been meticulously restored and curated by its owner, Phil, who is an avid antique collector. This dedication is evident throughout the property, as the inn is furnished with an extensive collection of period furniture and art. Guests are immediately transported to a bygone era, surrounded by "little bits of history and paintings" in every corner. The ambiance is cozy, intimate, and evokes a sense of stepping back in time, yet with all the comforts of modern hospitality. The exterior of the inn, while historical, is welcoming, and the surrounding area in Beach Lake offers a peaceful, rural setting, contributing to a truly relaxing escape. The inn's common areas likely include inviting spaces where guests can unwind and soak in the historical atmosphere, perhaps a common lounge or a parlor filled with interesting artifacts. It’s the kind of place that invites exploration and discovery within its walls, making it a "hidden gem" as described by a grateful guest.
In terms of services, Moonshadow Inn focuses on delivering a personalized and welcoming experience. While not a large, sprawling resort, the inn offers essential amenities and a friendly, attentive approach to guest satisfaction. Key to its offerings is the on-site restaurant and bar. Reviewers highly recommend making time to "have a drink and dinner in the restaurant," suggesting a quality culinary experience is part of the stay. This provides immense convenience for guests who wish to dine without leaving the charming premises. Conversations with the owner and locals are also noted as a pleasant part of the experience, indicating a warm, community-oriented atmosphere. Guests can expect comfortable rooms with private bathrooms, ensuring privacy and convenience. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available, a crucial service for modern travelers even in a historic setting. Free parking is also typically provided, which is an important consideration for visitors traveling by car in the Poconos region. Check-in is generally from 2:00 PM, and check-out is by 12:00 PM. While not explicitly stated, daily housekeeping services are commonly expected at such establishments to maintain a clean and tidy environment. The emphasis here is on quality over quantity, with services tailored to enhance the unique, historic charm of the inn.
The features of Moonshadow Inn are undeniably distinctive. The standout element is its deep historical roots, being a 200-year-old inn. The owner's passion for antiques is integrated into the very fabric of the hotel, turning the decor into a living museum. Imagine receiving an "original key from 200 years ago" for your room, as one delighted guest experienced – this level of authentic detail creates an unforgettable impression. Each of the six rooms is described as "cozy" and unique, filled with these historical elements, creating a sense of individual character rather than generic hotel spaces. The beds are noted as "very comfortable," and bathrooms, while potentially "small," are clean and functional, meeting guest needs. Beyond the rooms, the presence of a full-service restaurant and bar on-site is a significant feature, providing a focal point for evening relaxation and socializing, and likely serving as a hub for both guests and locals. The inn's designation as a "luxury hotel" in some listings, coupled with its charming and unique attributes, positions it as a higher-end, boutique experience. Its location in Beach Lake provides access to the broader Poconos attractions, though the inn itself is a destination. Proximity to landmarks like Beach Lake FM Church and Carousel Water & Fun Park adds local context, making it suitable for those exploring the immediate area.

Oct 08, 2023 · Pedro RomanThis is a hidden gem. We spent one night on our way home and it was a great experience. Moonshadow Inn is a 200 year old Inn formerly called The Beach Lake Hotel. The owner is an antique collector who has restored the building and furnished it with his collection of furniture and art. Even the room key that he handed me is the original key from 200 years ago. We had a beautiful room with a very comfortable bed, the bathroom was small but clean and all that we needed. Do yourself a favor and get there in time to have a drink and dinner in the restaurant. You'll hopefully get a chance to talk to the owner and maybe a few locals. If I'm ever back in the area I will definitely return.
Sep 02, 2022 · Mark BaronMy wife and I stumbled upon this awesome place when we saw the banner in front. Phil was an amazing host, bartender and chef. We stayed 1 night and cant wait to go back. It was an experience we cant quite explain. Maybe all the history from days gone bye. Would give it 6 stars if I could. You just have to go to feel the energy. And the antiques.... Beautifully appointed
Jan 13, 2023 · RickHaven’t stayed at the Inn yet, but we went to the bar downstairs after my cousin’s wedding. Beautiful decor; you can tell that a lot of work went into creating a welcoming and fun space. The owner was very accommodating of our group, and the bartender Kim was a rockstar. I’d give it a 6/5 stars if I could. Amazing time.
Oct 01, 2022 · Mosheh SamsonFairly bare bones. However, the location is pleasant. Smoking is a major component of the lodging, and any smoker would be pleased. Easy access to smoker's butt buckets are available in most areas. While quaint, the presence of smoke detectors and security locks are imperative to safe lodging for me. Smoke detector frames were visible, but the box of detectors were safely stored away. Rooms have only the original locks, eliminating the option to leave anyone in the room safely or to exit quickly in the event of an emergency. The aspect did cause some concern. Do you lock your family in, or leave the door unlocked? Can we locate the Skelton key in the dark to exit in the case of an emergency? Basic toiletries are offered, and luckily, the previous guests had not used the entire bottle of liquids, and were kind enough to have left them in the bathroom. The front second story porch and main level deck offer better options for outdoor time. Smoking is still welcome from these levels, and butt buckets are plentiful. The rear of the building is a bit less relaxing with the small mobile trailer that is being used for housing in full view. The bar/lounge is interesting and smoking seems to be permitted there as well. The furnishing are unique. A coffee pot and coffee were available, and I assume it was self-service. We didn't take the time to clean or refill the pot to brew, but it did seem to be available to use if one wished to rinse and prepare. It's nice to know it was there. The area is relaxing for walking and strolling, and if looking to experience a feel like time has rolled back to the 1800's this could be it. Personally, I needed just a few modern anemeties to offer safety and comfort.
