✅ Nice and clean! Nice view from the room. Spacious. Perfect location. Booking was very easy. Love the website, photos on there and the app- very upscale experience vs when booking hotels with very outdated websites. ❌few tiny things that I wasn’t happy with is that the water station was always empty, couldn’t get water on site had to leave the building. Also the fridge was barely cold- useless basically. There were complimentary tea packets but no kettle to actually make it.

We’ve stayed at many Sonder locations, and this was our first time at this one. The location is prime—perfect for exploring the area! Upon arrival, the front desk staff was very welcoming and helped us with luggage storage. They also generously offered us a complimentary early check-in, which was a great start to our stay. However, there were a few downsides. The WiFi was a major issue—streaming videos was nearly impossible, and we had to rely on our own data. At one point, the internet was completely down for the entire building for a whole night, which was frustrating. Another issue was the shower design—while the water pressure was great, the open-concept layout with no door caused water to spill onto the bathroom floor easily. Additionally, room cleaning needs to be requested at least a day in advance and must be scheduled before 5 PM, which isn’t the most convenient system. Despite these drawbacks, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the overall experience was still good. With improvements to the WiFi, shower design, and cleaning service process, this Sonder could be a perfect stay!

This is not a 4-star hotel and the google pictures have nothing to do with the actual room you booked… 1) there is a vent beneath the air conditioner, which screams every 3 hours and wakes you up during midnight. 2) the bed and pillows are very uncomfortable. 3) there is no service at all. You wanna someone clean your room? 40 dollars for a clean : ). 4) the only good side is location, but with the same money, you can find a better place

location and price are great if you’re trying to be in midtown and see the typical manhattan sights. also next to the subway and buses. hotel has a cute lobby and the rooms are spacious; i had a cool view of the radio city sign. there is a nice restaurant/coffeeshop attached as well which is convenient. staff were friendly and helpful. only suggestion is a water station on each floor

Excellent rates and an outstanding premier location on West 56th Street just off Fifth Avenue. If you want to be in a luxe part of midtown, this is it! I look forward to staying at Chambers/Sonder again. Hotel is a beautiful example of modern architecture, resulting in a soaring and welcoming lobby, a relaxing mezzanine lounge and airy rooms. [The architect was David Rockwell, who went on to become an architectural great. This hotel was his first “ground up” (new construction) design.] Front desk staff is welcoming, informative and efficient. The downsides, none of them deal breakers, but good to know: -Exceptionally small sink and bathroom shelf, even by NYC standards. I used the desk to hold toiletries. -Be aware that guests must request chamber maid services. The default is none. -Our room was not cleaned until 5 pm, after we had returned to the room to prepare for the evening. -No evidence of a bell staff when I stayed. This wasn’t a problem for me, but it might be an issue for those with heavy luggage or for frail or disabled guests.
