We stayed at this hotel this past weekend for 1 night. When we arrived to our room, it did not appear very clean. The floors were definitely not cleaned. We had no towels in our room. We tried to use the phone to call to the front desk and the phone was not hooked up. The bedding itself looked cleaned, but the mattress and sides of bed were stained. The WiFi was horrible and the internet had such a lag you couldn’t use it. Our tub did not drain and the toilet did not flush properly. Our heater in the room was so loud you couldn’t hear the tv. We went down to the pool and there were no towels. My husband went to the front desk to tell them there were no towels and the lady at the front desk rudely said “well I guess you were sent here to make me work tonight”. The breakfast was nothing special, not a lot of options. We attempted to go back to the pool the next morning and it was closed. The pool was a big reason we chose this hotel. Around 9:30am housekeeping just walked in our room. Overall the hotel was trashy and our experience was not good. We would not return and would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Cicero Grand - Syracuse North Introduce

When searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in the Cicero, NY, area, the Cicero Grand - Syracuse North may appear as a lodging option. Located conveniently at exit 30, 5875 Carmenica Dr I-81, Cicero, NY 13039, USA, its proximity to Interstate 81 makes it easily accessible for travelers. For inquiries or reservations, the hotel can be reached via phone at (315) 752-0150 or mobile at +1 315-752-0150.

Environment and Location:

The Cicero Grand - Syracuse North is situated just off Interstate 81, a common location for hotels catering to travelers in transit. This specific placement, near "exit 30," emphasizes its ease of access for those driving through the Syracuse North area. The immediate environment is likely typical of a highway-side hotel, characterized by other commercial establishments, gas stations, and eateries rather than scenic views or a bustling town center. This setup prioritizes convenience for road travelers, offering a stopover point for those on longer journeys or visiting the Syracuse area for business or leisure that requires vehicular travel.

While the exterior environment might be standard for an interstate location, the internal environment of the hotel, particularly the common areas, has received conflicting feedback. One review described the overall hotel as "trashy," indicating potential issues with cleanliness and general upkeep in public spaces. Conversely, another review states that the "rooms were clean and comfortable," implying that some areas maintain a better standard. The contrast in feedback suggests that the consistency of the environment may vary within the property.

Services and Features:

The Cicero Grand - Syracuse North offers a range of services and features that are typically found in hotels of its category. These include an indoor pool and a fitness center, which are highlighted as top-notch amenities by some guests, appealing to those seeking recreational options during their stay. The presence of a bar with a "mean cocktail" indicates an on-site dining/drinking option, adding convenience for guests.

However, there is a stark contrast in guest experiences regarding the condition and functionality of these services and in-room features. For instance, while one guest "especially enjoyed the indoor pool," another reported attempting to use the pool both on arrival and the next morning only to find "no towels" and then the pool "was closed" the next morning, despite it being a "big reason" for their hotel choice. This suggests inconsistency in amenity availability and maintenance. Similarly, while some rooms were found "clean and comfortable," another detailed significant cleanliness issues, with "floors were definitely not cleaned," "mattress and sides of bed were stained," and "no towels in our room."

Further in-room issues reported include a non-functional phone ("phone was not hooked up"), a bathtub that "did not drain," a toilet that "did not flush properly," and a heater that was "so loud you couldn’t hear the tv." The Wi-Fi service also received negative feedback for being "horrible" and having "such a lag you couldn’t use it." In terms of staff interactions, one review highly praises staff, specifically mentioning Daniella at the front desk for going "above and beyond" and describing the staff as "incredibly friendly and helpful." Conversely, another review describes a front desk lady as "rudely said 'well I guess you were sent here to make me work tonight'" when asked for towels, indicating a severe lack of customer service in that instance. The breakfast is described as "nothing special, not a lot of options." Additionally, an unannounced entry into a guest's room by housekeeping at 9:30 am highlights potential issues with guest privacy protocols.

Promotional Information:

The Cicero Grand - Syracuse North would likely promote itself as a convenient and amenity-rich option for travelers in the Syracuse North area, particularly emphasizing its location off I-81, its indoor pool, and fitness center. Positive testimonials, like "The Cicero Grand Hotel was a great experience!" and "I highly recommend this hotel," would be leveraged to attract potential guests. The mention of an on-site bar with good cocktails also serves as a promotional draw for those looking for convenience and a relaxed evening.

Given its type, the hotel would likely be listed on major online travel agencies (OTAs) and potentially have its own direct booking website. Standard promotions for hotels of this category often include competitive rates, seasonal discounts, and perhaps packages for extended stays or local events. However, the conflicting nature of the reviews, particularly concerning cleanliness, amenity availability, and staff service, would make it challenging to maintain a consistently positive promotional message without addressing the underlying issues. The hotel's contact numbers, (315) 752-0150 and +1 315-752-0150, serve as direct points for potential guests to inquire about current offerings and verify information.

Objective Introduction Based on Information:

The Cicero Grand - Syracuse North, situated at exit 30, 5875 Carmenica Dr I-81, Cicero, NY 13039, USA, is a hotel designed for convenient access for travelers on Interstate 81. For those searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in the Cicero/Syracuse North vicinity, it offers an indoor pool, a fitness center, and an on-site bar as advertised features. The hotel can be contacted at (315) 752-0150 for inquiries.

However, objective guest feedback presents a sharply divided picture of the hotel experience. While some guests have reported positive stays, praising "clean and comfortable" rooms, "top-notch" amenities, and "incredibly friendly and helpful" staff, including specific commendations for individuals like Daniella at the front desk and the bartender, another highly detailed review contradicts these positive sentiments. This negative feedback describes significant issues with cleanliness ("floors were definitely not cleaned," "mattress and sides of bed were stained"), non-functional room features (unhooked phone, non-draining tub, toilet issues, loud heater), and unreliable Wi-Fi. Furthermore, the availability and maintenance of amenities like the pool appear inconsistent, with reports of no towels and the pool being closed. Staff interactions were also described as "rude" in one instance, directly contrasting the positive experiences reported elsewhere.

The complimentary breakfast is generally considered basic with limited options. Privacy concerns were raised by an unannounced housekeeping entry. The hotel's overall condition was characterized as "trashy" by one dissatisfied guest, who felt the experience was poor and would not recommend it. This strong disparity in reviews suggests that the guest experience at Cicero Grand - Syracuse North can be highly inconsistent. Therefore, while the hotel may offer a convenient location and desirable amenities for some, prospective guests searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" should be aware of the notable risks regarding cleanliness, functionality of features, and the consistency of staff service before booking their stay.

The Cicero Grand Hotel was a great experience! The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the amenities were top-notch. I especially enjoyed the indoor pool and the fitness center. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. A special shoutout to Daniella at the front desk, who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. Also, the bartender makes a mean cocktail! I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Syracuse area. From Stan Cosper.

My husband and I stayed here for two nights while visiting from Florida. I was pleasantly surprised by the spacious rooms! Everything was clean and comfy. Front desk staff was helpful and nice! Breakfast was pretty good. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it. It was cheap, clean, and in a great location.

Our stay at Cicero Grand Syracuse North was extremely disappointing due to a serious billing issue and unacceptable customer service. We had prepaid for our stay through a trusted third-party booking site we've used for years without any problems. Despite showing the receipt at check-in, we were charged again for the full amount—this was not an incidental hold, but a duplicate charge made without our consent. When I spoke to the supervisor, Danielle, she was dismissive and unhelpful. Even after I provided proof of payment, she took no responsibility or action to correct the issue. My husband also spoke with her separately and was treated just as poorly—he said she even yelled at him. Since then, we’ve tried contacting the hotel multiple times, but Danielle has never been available or on-site to follow up. We escalated the issue to corporate and requested a refund, but days later, nothing has been resolved. This is the first time we’ve ever had to deal with a situation like this, and it’s been unnecessarily stressful. All we want is for this issue to be resolved as quickly and easily as they took our hard-earned money. I strongly urge others to avoid this hotel—especially if booking through a third-party service. The lack of professionalism, accountability, and basic courtesy was unacceptable.

First of all the whole reason I book this hotel was to use the pool which is not even working right now and I was not even able to not check in when I found out it wasn't working! I was told it was an amenity and they aren't required to let you know when something is out of order and I wouldn't be allowed to cancel because of it by the extremely rude receptionist at the front desk. Who couldn't be bothered half the time to even help you she was to busy taking smoke breaks. After finally getting our room key and getting checked in we then entered a room that wasn't not even clean! There was used soap and towels thrown in the bathroom. Fingerprints all over the mirrors the beds had clearly been used and the floor had not been clean you could see dirt and wrappers on it. We even found someone earring on the floor. We then where moved to another room that was cleaned but also had broken things and only two towels when we are a family of five. Never again worst hotel ever!!
