Very accommodating and helpful staff. We were picked up by golf cart promptly despite me texting them as we were heading to the ferry. Excellent food and cocktails and a simple but nice breskfast served at the tent at the time promised. Tent was pretty good but I wouldn't call it luxurious. Had a great view of the Statue of Liberty out the front. My only complaint is it is loud at night so we did not sleep well but that's not really the fault of the Collective. Even with ear plugs and white noise the planes and ferries are loud so be prepared. I assume one of their few rooms that is more of an actual building would be less noisy.

Oct 24, 2024 · Chad KruseWe’ve had the pleasure of staying here twice, and each time has been an exceptional experience. We’re already looking forward to our next visit. During our stays, we dined at the on-site restaurant, where the food was nothing short of outstanding—delicious dishes prepared with great attention to detail. There was live music playing during dinner, which helped create a wonderful ambiance. The service throughout our stay was consistently excellent, with staff going out of their way to ensure we were comfortable and well cared for. Breakfast was brought directly to our tent at a time that suited us. In the evening, a S'mores station was set up, offering a great way to gather around the fire and enjoy a classic treat under the stars. The bathroom tents were equally impressive—spacious and impeccably clean. Transportation to and from the ferry was seamless, as the hotel provided a convenient cart service. We were promptly picked up upon arrival and dropped off at the ferry when it was time to leave, adding to the overall ease and enjoyment of our stay.
Sep 13, 2024 · carlos borgesI'm reviewing a couple of things: my husband and I had a dinner celebrating our wedding at the Collective, we stayed overnight, AND we hired the preferred vendor photographer, Zac from The Greens Photo. Zac was a 100% unmitigated success, and I would recommend him for any event. He was kind, fun to be around, and got us amazing pictures. Glamping was really fun too, and the dinner was wonderful. The pacing of the food was a bit slow, and the fish ended up coming out a little overcooked and cold, but that's fish at volume I guess?? Otherwise the food was excellent. I absolutely loved having my party at the Collective, and would love to go back for another staycation weekend. But to have a complete review - a couple of minor downsides which would not stop me from recommending them highly: the staff was a bit...spacey. I guess when young adults have to work on Saturday mornings sometimes they use a green plant to make it more fun? They were not well organized at check-in, and some folks had to wait a while for golf carts to and from the ferry at check in and check out when we couldn't find a team member. There is also truly no Plan B for if it rains and you are having an event there - thank goodness we had good weather, or I would have been VERY stressed out for my guests. (FYI the rat situation at night around the s'mores was a little wild. I happen not to be afraid of them, but if you have a real rodent phobia, don't do s'mores!)
Nov 17, 2024 · Philippa PaviaGlamping on Governors Island is a must ! A short ferry ride whisks you away to a peaceful retreat with spectacular views, nature, and plenty to explore. My sister and I had a spacious tent with twin beds, full shower, toilet, and sink. Late September visit so heat provided and also heated mattresses. Wonderful live music at dinner tent....delicious food while enjoying view of Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. In the morning enjoyed food basket delivery yogurt granola fruit hard boiled eggs and croissant along with coffee we brewed in the room . Amazing yoga class in morning in a tent still enjoying view and even seeing a hawk! Staff is very nice, friendly and accommodating. Golf cart shuttle to and from ferry and also to and from QC spa. Campfires and s'mores. Falling asleep to the night sounds of nature. 1 night stay this time and already thinking about a return!
Sep 25, 2024 · eviearonsonHad a great experience at collective retreats. The tents were very clean and luxurious. The staff were amazing. I missed dinner service by 20 minutes and the staff stayed a little late to make something to eat for me and my wife. I really appreciated that because it shows the guest first culture that they have at the property. The next morning my wife attended the complimentary yoga class and I had coffee on the beautiful deck looking at the Statue of Liberty and watching the Staten Island ferry go by. I even got to meet the GM Evan as he asked me how my stay was. I would recommend staying at this property, it was warm, welcoming and a relaxing place to enjoy with my wife.
