Good location to Killington Mountain which is why we picked this hotel. The hotel itself is run down pain feeling off the walls and felt extremely dirty. The walls are thin you can hear absolutely everything so I ended up waking up every two hours. Hot tub was small and crowded. Breakfast was decent. They advertise the hotel as the friendliest but I would not agree with that statement.

Clean and comfortable rooms. What seemed like a nice pool with hottub (forgot my bathing suit so didn't get to actually check 'em out.) Had a fairly quick and easy check it. The person behind the desk was quick to find resources and info about the area. Although some might not consider it walking distance it was less than a mile to the Paramount Theatre (which we traveled to the area for a show there) and had plenty of sidewalks and crosswalks to make of an easy travel so if you don't mind walking for 20 min or less it's very walkable to the downtown area and lots of restaurants and bars.

Location is really really good, best part about this hotel. It’s a budget hotel so don’t expect much, cause you won’t get much. It’s outdated. But, clean. WiFi was good. One of those places where you can hear everything being discussed in the hallway.

I had significant issues with payment with this location. Booked through Expedia and chose the pay later option and was still charged for half my stay ahead of time (I'm sure it's in the fine print somewhere. That was hardly the real problem). Upon check in I was told another hold would be made for my stay, and instead of holding only the other half, the whole stay was now "pending" on my credit card, in addition to the initial hold. Then at checkout I was told they needed to actually debit the stay - and couldn't just use the holds they already had for some reason. For almost a week, and several emails back and forth with management, I had a total of 2xs the actual cost of my stay unavailable to me in my accounts while they figured things out. If that alone wasnt enough to make up my mind to never stay there again- the room and bathroom were both very small, but serviceable, the bed was incredibly uncomfortable though (and I doubt actually a queen size. Felt more like a full). I don't think I've slept on a spring mattress in a hotel in the last 15 years! And I was chastised like a child by the staff at breakfast (dismal microwaved eggs and sausage, though the waffles smelled good) for using a coffee cup for juice lol. The vibe was definitely that we were a bother to be there. Which is strange, because if the painted bench outside the entrance is to be believed, this was the "friendliest hotel in Rutland". The pool/hot tub area seems to be in the middle of updates, but it was open and clean. Overall would skip it if I needed to stay in the area again. Especially for the price. I understand it was a big skiing weekend and they were fully booked, and that was absolutely reflected in thier surge pricing. **Edited to add** While I don't think posting transaction information to the public is an appropriate response, I would like to specify that this review did not state that the problem was not resolved, only how it happened and it negatively impacting my experience. I acknowledge and appreciate that the communication between myself and management was consistent while the problem was being addressed, but that unfortunately did not mitigate the issues it caused. I was sent a message requesting a review, and this was it. Possible suggestions for future similar cases: *Notifying a guest prior to processing a verification hold to confirm authorization. *Training desk staff on how to push or approve pending transactions to be used as debits without needing to charge fully again. Encouraging them to ask their managers questions if they are unsure. *And perhaps not post individual transaction information publicly as a defense when none was truly necessary.

A bit run down but the rooms were clean and in good shape. Hotel itself shows its age.
