DATED HOTEL IN NEED OF RENOVATION This place is a complete tear down. The only thing they have going for them is the proximity to Hersheys. We had to go with them because of our travel schedule. However, you really get what you pay for with these folks. The bathroom had hair all over and the blankets had either hair or stains on them. We removed the items as it was truly disgusting. It was also hard to sleep cos the AC made the most hideous noise. The bathroom fan was worse. To crown it all, the receptionist who also works the breakfast shift had the effrontery to confront my son to advise him not to be like his parent’s because our youngest who is 3 years old threw Cheerios on the floor. He made snide remarks to my husband and I but we ignored him but then he went on to harass our oldest child. That is an absolute no no and we will be filing a formal complaint against this branch of Comfort suites hotels with the headquarters. It’s perplexing that this individual was so upset at the spills when the breakfast tables were so dirty prior to us getting to breakfast. He was having drinks from the breakfast instead of keeping up with cleaning tables. We had to clean our own table before using it. The floors were also dirty and he didn’t clean previous spills before we got there. We are not sure why he was so concerned with our family. We were also apologetic about the mess our youngest made not sure why he was acting really weird. You just can’t vent your frustrations on other people. If you don’t like your job then find something else and spare others your aggression and frustration. This has been the worst hotel we have ever been to and we have been to countless due to our extensive travels.
For individuals and families seeking "Hotels Near Of Me" in the Hummelstown and Hershey, Pennsylvania area, the Comfort Suites Hummelstown - Hershey, located at 320 Milroy Rd, Hummelstown, PA 17036, USA, might appear as a potential option due to its proximity to popular attractions. The hotel can be reached by phone at (717) 220-8526 or mobile phone at +1 717-220-8526. However, an objective introduction based on recent customer reviews reveals significant concerns that prospective guests should be fully aware of before considering a stay.
The hotel's primary advertised advantage appears to be its "proximity to Hersheys," which is a key factor for many travelers visiting the area. This location can be convenient for accessing local attractions, making it a visible option for searches like "Hotels Near Of Me." However, the convenience of location seems to be heavily outweighed by numerous reported deficiencies in other crucial aspects of the hotel experience.
Let's examine the environment of the Comfort Suites Hummelstown - Hershey. Guest reviews consistently describe the hotel as "DATED" and "IN NEED OF RENOVATION," with one even suggesting it's a "complete tear down." Specific observations paint a grim picture: "Wallpaper scraped off in hallways," "small gouges in walls of hallways," and a general sense that the "upkeep of the building seems subpar." Beyond structural deterioration, the cleanliness of public areas, particularly the breakfast area, is a major concern. Guests reported that "the breakfast tables were so dirty prior to us getting to breakfast," requiring them to "clean our own table before using it." The "floors were also dirty," with uncleaned "previous spills." These descriptions indicate a significant lack of attention to general cleanliness and maintenance throughout the hotel's common spaces, directly impacting the guest environment.
The services provided at the Comfort Suites Hummelstown - Hershey, as depicted in guest feedback, are a severe point of concern, particularly regarding staff conduct. While one review initially noted the "breakfast was decent and had options," this positive aspect was heavily overshadowed by a highly negative interaction with the receptionist who also worked the breakfast shift. This individual was accused of having the "effrontery to confront my son" for a minor mess made by a three-year-old, making "snide remarks" to the parents, and then proceeding to "harass our oldest child." Such behavior is described as "an absolute no no" and prompted a formal complaint to the hotel headquarters. The perplexing nature of this individual's anger over spills, given that he was "having drinks from the breakfast instead of keeping up with cleaning tables" and that the overall breakfast area was already dirty, further underscores a profound lack of professionalism and customer service. Other service-related issues, such as rooms not being cleaned well and old food being left in the fridge, point to deficiencies in housekeeping services. These highly negative interactions with staff severely detract from any potential positive aspects of a stay and are critical for anyone considering this hotel.
Regarding the features of the Comfort Suites Hummelstown - Hershey, the primary and most concerning features, as described by guests, relate to the condition and cleanliness of the rooms. Specific complaints include: "The bathroom had hair all over," "the blankets had either hair or stains on them," with descriptions of "SO MANY STAINS. Pink stains, brown stains (ew), other stains." This led guests to conclude they "did not have confidence that the bed was clean." Furthermore, a room "smelled like urine and It was not cleaned well." Even in a bathroom described as "not too bad," a "hair was found in sink and you could tell the counter wasn’t thoroughly cleaned either." The presence of "old food left in fridge" further compounds these issues. Beyond cleanliness, functional aspects are also problematic, with the "AC made the most hideous noise" and the "bathroom fan was worse," making it "hard to sleep." These details paint a picture of features that are not only dated but also poorly maintained and unclean, directly impacting guest comfort and hygiene. While a complimentary breakfast is offered, its quality is undermined by the highly unsatisfactory environment and staff conduct during the service.
From a promotional standpoint, the overwhelming negative feedback on the Comfort Suites Hummelstown - Hershey severely limits any objective positive promotional information. The consistent complaints about dated facilities, pervasive cleanliness issues, and highly unprofessional staff behavior directly contradict the expectations typically associated with a "Comfort Suites" brand and would deter potential guests rather than attract them. While its proximity to Hershey attractions is a geographic advantage, the reported dismal guest experiences indicate that this alone is insufficient to recommend the hotel. There is no information provided to suggest any active efforts to address these widespread problems, such as ongoing renovations or new staff training initiatives. Any promotional claims about comfort or quality would need to be critically examined against the backdrop of these detailed and highly negative customer reviews. For local users searching for "Hotels Near Of Me," this hotel's current condition, as described by multiple guests, signals a significant risk of a dissatisfying and unpleasant stay. It would be difficult to objectively promote this hotel without highlighting the serious concerns raised by recent visitors. Potential guests are strongly advised to consider these severe negative reviews carefully and to explore alternative accommodations in the area to ensure a satisfactory experience.
In conclusion, the Comfort Suites Hummelstown - Hershey, located at 320 Milroy Rd, Hummelstown, PA, and contactable at (717) 220-8526, presents a deeply concerning picture based on recent customer reviews. The hotel is consistently described as "DATED" and in dire "NEED OF RENOVATION," with widespread issues of uncleanliness ranging from stained blankets and hair in bathrooms to dirty breakfast areas and uncleaned floors. Most alarmingly, multiple guests reported highly unprofessional and aggressive behavior from staff, particularly a receptionist/breakfast attendant, leading to a decision to file a formal complaint. Functional problems such as noisy AC and bathroom fans further detract from comfort. While its location near Hershey attractions is mentioned, this sole positive point is profoundly overshadowed by the severe deficiencies in environment, services, and features. For anyone searching for "Hotels Near Of Me," particularly those prioritizing cleanliness, comfort, and professional service, the objective information available strongly suggests that this hotel currently falls significantly short of acceptable standards, warranting extreme caution and consideration of other options.

Apr 22, 2025 · Joyce DerekI’ll start with what they did well. The breakfast was decent and had options. The general lobby area was clean other than the food area wasn’t wiped very well and things were smudged. Now the negative: -The room smelled like urine and It was not cleaned well. -The upkeep of the building seems subpar. Wallpaper scraped off in hallways, small gouges in walls of hallways. -The room had stains in various places. -Bathroom was not too bad although a hair was found in sink and you could tell the counter wasn’t thoroughly cleaned either. -There was old food left in fridge. -The blankets had SO MANY STAINS. Pink stains, brown stains (ew), other stains. I did not have confidence that the bed was clean because of that. I could understand maybe a tiny stain they could have missed but there was stains on both bed spreads and a lot of them. Would not recommend for that reason.
Mar 22, 2025 · Bethany DalyLocal, have stayed here a couple times. Looks to be a new(ish) hotel, built last 5 years or so I’d say. Right now it’s located right where road construction has been ongoing for months. Complicated further by traffic flooding down from 322. Which makes it difficult when attempting to enter or exit the property. That will eventually improve once construction ends, however. Had a decent experience here, I will return. ;)
Feb 27, 2025 · Phunn Gii (C12H17N2O4P)This place really isn't that bad. Plenty of parking and clean rooms despite being in need of some minor repairs/upkeep but, man, if there are sporting events happening in the area involving teenagers, wow, it can get loud in the hallways at night. A few times I had to get out of bed and ask other guests hanging out in the hallways to keep it down.
Mar 11, 2025 · Stephen DonaldsonA nice standard comfort inn.The place a little dated and it looks like they're doing some remodeling the ceiling in our bathroom still had tape up on the ceiling from when they were painting breakfast was pretty good standard powdered egg sausage.
