We checked in at 9pm. There was a gentleman in front of us after completing his check in Patrice stated she needed to go to the back. No problem. She returned and there was now a line behind us. She asked for payment and identification. I reached in my purse for my wallet. Patrice then says get your id and payment out and I can help you quicker. Ummm sure. So I handed her my info but my husband’s name is on the reservation. She asks for his info instead. We have never had this issue. I am gold elite and a Marriott card carrying member. So he pulls out his identification but doesn’t have his Marriott card. I inform her that the numbers are the same. He’s an authorized user on my account. She said it was policy that she use a card with his name on it. If it’s policy it’s not Marriott’s policy. Most times he’s still in the car when I check in for us. So then Patrice starts running down all the rules and regulations of the hotel after not doing that for the gentleman in front of us. At this point I know I’m visibly upset so she asks what brings us in. I told her a concert and she asked what concert. Trying to make small talk while she’s making our keys. My husband went to put the parking pass in the car so I stayed back to see how the gentleman behind us was treated. As Patrice was thanking him for being a Gold Elite member I realized we received no such acknowledgment. I just really feel slighted as a regular customer of Marriott.

Courtyard Atlanta Airport West Introduce

For those searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" with a focus on convenience to the airport and modern amenities in the Atlanta metropolitan area, the Courtyard Atlanta Airport West by Marriott stands as a notable option. Situated at 3400 Creek Pointe Drive, East Point, GA 30344, USA, this hotel aims to provide a comfortable and productive environment for both business and leisure travelers.

Environment and Location:

The Courtyard Atlanta Airport West boasts a prime location due to its close proximity to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL), being approximately 3.25 to 5 miles away. This makes it an exceptionally convenient choice for air travelers, especially with the provision of a complimentary airport shuttle service. The hotel is located in East Point, a suburban area that offers a more relaxed atmosphere compared to downtown Atlanta, yet provides excellent connectivity to major transportation arteries like Interstate 85.

A significant advantage of this hotel's location is its immediate vicinity to Camp Creek Marketplace. This expansive shopping and dining destination is just a short drive or even walk away (around 0.5 miles), providing guests with a wide array of options for meals, groceries, and retail therapy. Other nearby points of interest include the Georgia International Convention Center (approximately 3 miles away), making it well-suited for convention attendees. For sports and entertainment, Gateway Center Arena is also close by. While downtown Atlanta attractions such as Mercedes-Benz Stadium, State Farm Arena, the Georgia Aquarium, and World of Coca-Cola are about 10-12 miles distant, they are easily accessible by car, offering a balance of airport convenience and city exploration opportunities. The surrounding area is characterized by a mix of commercial developments and green spaces, contributing to a generally accessible and functional environment.

Services and Amenities:

As a Courtyard by Marriott property, this hotel is designed to offer a range of modern amenities and services focused on guest comfort and efficiency. A key feature is the complimentary airport shuttle service, which operates 24 hours a day, providing seamless transfers to and from ATL. Guests can also enjoy free Wi-Fi, available in all rooms and public areas, ensuring reliable connectivity for work or leisure.

For dining, the hotel typically features The Bistro, a popular Courtyard amenity, which offers healthy options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, along with evening bar service and Starbucks coffee. While breakfast is available, it usually comes with a surcharge (e.g., around $13.95-$17 per person). There is also a coffee shop/cafe and a snack bar/deli for quick bites.

Recreational facilities include an outdoor pool, offering a refreshing option for relaxation during warmer months, and a hot tub. A 24-hour fitness center is equipped with cardio and strength-training equipment, allowing guests to maintain their workout routines. For business travelers, the hotel provides a business center and meeting facilities, with flexible event space capable of accommodating various gatherings, with a total event space of 3,080 sq ft and capacity for up to 225 people.

Guest rooms are equipped with amenities designed for a comfortable stay. Each room features air conditioning, a flat-screen TV with premium channels, a work desk with an ergonomic chair, a mini-refrigerator, and a coffee/tea maker. Private bathrooms include a shower/tub combination, complimentary toiletries, and a hairdryer. Daily housekeeping service is provided. Room types often include King rooms with sofa beds and Queen rooms, providing flexibility for different travel needs. Connecting rooms are also available upon request.

Features and Policies:

The Courtyard Atlanta Airport West operates with a 24-hour front desk. Standard check-in time is 3:00 PM, and check-out is by 12:00 PM. Guests are required to present a photo identification and credit card upon check-in. The hotel generally accepts credit cards, debit cards, and cash. The property is smoke-free indoors, with designated outdoor smoking areas. On-site self-parking is available, though it typically incurs a daily fee (e.g., around $5 per night). The minimum age for check-in is not explicitly stated as 25 across all sources, but some properties may have this policy. Pets are generally not allowed at this location.

While the hotel strives to provide a consistent Marriott experience, some customer reviews indicate areas where experiences can vary. For instance, some guests, particularly Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite members, have reported inconsistencies in check-in procedures, such as requests for specific payment methods or identification that deviate from usual Marriott policies, and a perceived lack of acknowledgment for their loyalty status. An example highlighted a guest who was a Gold Elite member and Marriott cardholder, whose reservation was in her husband's name. She reported that the front desk agent, Patrice, insisted on using a card with her husband's name and questioned his Marriott card presence, despite the account numbers being the same and him being an authorized user. This guest also noted that the agent proceeded to "run down all the rules and regulations" of the hotel, which was not done for the previous guest, and failed to acknowledge her Gold Elite status, leading to a feeling of being "slighted."

There have also been instances of significant operational issues, including widespread lack of hot water across multiple rooms (reported for over 30 rooms during a busy weekend with a volleyball tournament) and non-functional in-room televisions, leading to considerable inconvenience for guests. Maintenance concerns, such as malfunctioning business center computers/printers, broken refrigerators, or bathroom doors that wouldn't open/close completely, have also been cited. More serious security concerns have been raised by guests reporting that their room doors wouldn't lock properly or that their rooms had been previously broken into, without this information being disclosed at check-in. While staff are generally described as friendly and helpful by some, other guests have reported issues with front desk staff being unhelpful or managers being unresponsive to complaints or requests for compensation for these inconveniences. Similarly, while shuttle service is promoted as 24-hour, some guests have experienced long wait times or found the service to be less consistent than expected. These varied experiences highlight that while the hotel offers a strong set of amenities, individual guest experiences can be impacted by operational challenges or specific staff interactions.

Promotional Information and Value Proposition:

Courtyard Atlanta Airport West positions itself as a reliable and modern choice for travelers seeking convenience and comfort near ATL. Its strong affiliation with the Marriott Bonvoy program is a key draw, allowing members to earn and redeem points. The complimentary airport shuttle service and proximity to Camp Creek Marketplace are consistently highlighted as major benefits, enhancing its appeal for both short stays and longer trips. The on-site Bistro and recreational facilities like the pool, hot tub, and fitness center add to its overall value proposition.

While breakfast is an additional cost, the ability to grab a quick and convenient meal on-site is often appreciated. Room rates typically vary, but being a Courtyard by Marriott, they generally fall within a mid-range price point, often starting from around $120-$200 per night, depending on seasonality and demand. For those prioritizing a recognized brand, a modern environment, and direct airport access, the Courtyard Atlanta Airport West aims to provide a solid and functional stay in the Atlanta area. However, potential guests should be aware of the occasional service or maintenance issues reported in some reviews, particularly regarding front desk interactions and the consistency of core amenities like hot water and in-room functionality.

I don’t like to put negative reviews but this time I need to at least let someone know. Our room was clean and comfortable and the staff at the front desk were very friendly. Over 30 rooms with no hot water and a tv that doesn’t work? That makes for a long weekend. We were in town for a large girls volleyball tournament so you can imagine my pain with no hot running water. Still waiting on a response from the GM. Girl at the desk said they haven’t gotten back with them on how to handle this situation. Some sort of price adjustment would be nice.

I arrived at my hotel with the expectation that my travel agent, through my business trip, paid for my room in advance. When the receptionist asked me to hand over my personal card, it occurred to me that my room was not prepaid, so it was on! I had questions, lots of them. After all, my room should have been covered. Nicole, the receptionist, calmly conveyed to me that my room was reserved, but not prepaid. Then I asked her why they couldn't just charge business card on file, and she said since my room wasn't an advance purchase rate, the physical card on file needed to be available at check in, otherwise it's could be marked as fraud (well, that card was not in my possession). Now, let me tell you, I was vexed because this implied that I had to pay. Long story short, I didn't relent. Frustrated, I kept circling back to the front desk, drilling Nicole with more questions because I needed clarity. Nicole was so warmly patient, so kind in spite of my obvious agitation. Mind you, the other receptionists, Naisha, was patient too. She didn't sigh, or roll a single eye. Eventually, the manager, La'Shawn, got pulled in and she calmly detailed why they couldn't process the business card on file due to their fraud protocol. If you made it this far, thank you because the point is, I was clearly vexed, and yet Naisha, Nicole and La'Shawn handled me with so much care, which eventually calmed me down. All this to say, this fragile world really is held together by people like them who are enduringly patient and kind. Post

This hotel was special because of how kind the staff were. Literally every staff person I spoke to, from check-in to the café, was kind, helpful, and patient. A very special shoutout to Patrice - I had a difficult problem to solve for and she took extra effort to help out, all while being extremely patient and friendly with me. She really went above and beyond, which helped me hugely! Thank you to everyone!

Rooms aren't clean at all. We checked in , no problems. We asked for an upgrade and they added it to the account. We get to our room and it's a nice big open space, roomy. It looked really nice and more comfy. However the pull out bed was never cleaned. Sunflower seeds in it. We checked the main bed and the air vent is broke broke, with again sun flower seeds. The light switch has like gross I don't even know what, throw up? On it, like it never got attempted to be cleaned. I looked on the floor, another sunflower seed. Like why is this room obsessed with sunflower seeds? Pillows have stains on them as well. Does this place even have maintenance, or if they do anyone that ACTUALLY cleans?
