The fire alarm kept randomly going off throughout the night waking me up out of my sleep. No housekeeping the entire time I stayed at this hotel. I stayed four nights. Front desk attendant was very rude and did not address any of the issues that I had with the room. I'm glad I didn't have to pay full price and I got a discount on my stay because I would have left in the middle of the first night. Plenty of people hanging out in the parking lot throughout the night. This place is the definition of a two-star hotel. They advertise that their continental breakfast is free in the morning but no food was served for my entire stay. There are better cheaper options in the area besides this place. D-

As part of the globally recognized Days Inn brand, a segment of Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, it typically aims to provide a functional and economical stay. For direct inquiries or reservations, the hotel can be reached at (770) 879-0800.

Environment: Location and Surrounding Area Dynamics

The strategic placement of Days Inn by Wyndham Atlanta Stone Mountain on Glenn Club Drive in Stone Mountain, Georgia, is one of its most defining characteristics. Its most significant advantage is its exceptional proximity to Stone Mountain Park, a major natural and recreational landmark. The hotel is often cited as being mere minutes away from the park's main entrance, making it an incredibly convenient base for visitors planning to engage with the park's numerous attractions, including hiking trails, the scenic railroad, cable car rides, and seasonal events like the renowned laser show. This direct access is a primary draw for leisure and family travelers.

Beyond the immediate allure of the park, the hotel benefits from its location off Highway 78, a critical artery connecting Stone Mountain to various parts of the Atlanta metropolitan area. Downtown Atlanta is approximately 20 miles away, while Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) is typically a 30-minute drive, estimated to be between 18 to 22 miles. This connectivity allows guests to access urban amenities, business districts, and the airport with relative ease. The immediate vicinity of Glenn Club Drive often includes a blend of local commercial establishments, such as various dining options ranging from quick-service restaurants like Chick-fil-A, McDonald's, Popeyes, and Wendy's, to more casual eateries such as Metro Cafe Diner. Other regional points of interest that are typically within a reasonable driving distance include the Yellow River Wildlife Sanctuary (less than two miles away), and the Stone Mountain Golf Club. While offering a more suburban and relaxed atmosphere compared to the bustling city core, the location ensures practical access to both natural attractions and urban conveniences.

Services and Features: Expected Offerings Versus Realities

Days Inn by Wyndham properties generally aim to provide a core set of services and amenities designed for value and practicality. For Days Inn by Wyndham Atlanta Stone Mountain, the following features are typically advertised and are standard expectations for the brand:

  • Guest Rooms: The hotel houses 81 guest rooms spread across two floors, accessible via exterior corridors. Standard room amenities usually include air conditioning, private bathrooms (equipped with a shower/tub combination and complimentary toiletries), 40-inch flat-screen TVs with cable channels (including HBO), telephones with free local calls, refrigerators, microwaves, and coffee/tea makers. Irons and ironing boards are commonly available, and hair dryers are provided. The property has undergone renovations, with the most recent noted in 2020, indicating efforts to maintain and update its facilities. Non-smoking rooms and accessible rooms are generally available upon request.
  • Complimentary Breakfast: A key selling point for many budget hotels, this Days Inn typically advertises a "free light breakfast item together with your choice of coffee, tea and juice," often presented as a convenient "grab-and-go" option to facilitate a quick start to the day. The stated breakfast hours are usually 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM on weekdays and 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM on weekends.
  • Internet Access: Free high-speed Wi-Fi is provided throughout the hotel, including all guest rooms and public areas, catering to the connectivity needs of both leisure and business travelers.
  • Outdoor Pool: A seasonal outdoor pool is available, offering guests a leisure option for relaxation and enjoyment during warmer weather. Sun loungers are typically provided.
  • Parking: Free self-parking is offered on-site, with ample space designed to accommodate various vehicle sizes, including RVs, buses, and trucks, which is a significant advantage for travelers with larger vehicles.
  • Front Desk Services: A 24-hour front desk aims to provide continuous assistance with check-ins (from 3:00 PM), check-outs (by 11:00 AM), and addressing guest inquiries or needs. Multilingual staff (English, Spanish) may be available to assist a diverse clientele.
  • Additional Conveniences: Other amenities commonly found include self-serve laundry facilities, vending machines for snacks and beverages, a business center for quick work needs, and luggage storage. Safety features like carbon monoxide detectors, fire extinguishers, and smoke detectors are also typically in place.

However, it is paramount to present an objective and comprehensive overview, which means critically incorporating actual guest experiences. Customer reviews for Days Inn by Wyndham Atlanta Stone Mountain, as provided, raise significant concerns that deviate from the expected brand standards:

  • "The fire alarm kept randomly going off throughout the night waking me up out of my sleep. D-"
  • "The hotel was very nasty. The room had stains all on the wall. The covers was stain on them as well in the bathroom. I feel like it was molded that hotel was very disgusting. I would never never never recommend anyone to stay at this hotel. The toilet seat was broken. I had to change rooms 3×1 of my rooms the AC didn’t work. This hotel is pitiful."

These reviews highlight critical issues including:

  • Significant Maintenance and Cleanliness Deficiencies: Reports of persistently sounding fire alarms, extensive stains on walls and bedding, broken toilet seats, non-functional air conditioning, and a pervasive sense of uncleanliness, including mold.
  • Substandard Service: Direct complaints about rude front desk staff failing to address guest issues, and a complete absence of housekeeping services over an extended stay.
  • Discrepancy in Advertised Services: The prominent issue of the complimentary continental breakfast not being provided despite being advertised.
  • Environmental and Safety Concerns: Observations of numerous individuals "hanging out in the parking lot throughout the night," which can contribute to a feeling of insecurity or an undesirable atmosphere.

These stark criticisms suggest that the actual guest experience at this property may fall significantly short of the typical expectations for a Days Inn or any standard hotel. Such feedback is crucial for potential guests to consider, as it indicates a deviation from the expected level of comfort, service, and cleanliness.

Promotional Information and Target Demographics

As a Days Inn by Wyndham property, promotional efforts would generally focus on its core strengths as a budget-friendly and conveniently located hotel. For its listing under the "Hotels Near Of Me" category, the hotel would typically emphasize key benefits to attract its target audience:

  • Prime Location for Stone Mountain Visitors: Its undeniable proximity to Stone Mountain Park is a major selling point, making it highly attractive to families, tourists, and anyone exploring this significant natural attraction. The easy access to Highway 78 for broader Atlanta connections would also be highlighted.
  • Value-Driven Accommodation: Promotions would stress the competitive pricing coupled with the inclusion of essential amenities such as free Wi-Fi and the advertised complimentary breakfast, appealing to budget-conscious individuals and families.
  • Brand Assurance and Loyalty Programs: Being part of the Wyndham family offers a degree of brand recognition and implies a baseline standard of service. The Wyndham Rewards loyalty program would also be a key promotional tool, enticing repeat customers with points and exclusive benefits.
  • Essential Comforts: Marketing would focus on providing practical, clean rooms equipped with basic necessities like microwaves and refrigerators, and common facilities such as the outdoor pool.

The primary target audience for Days Inn by Wyndham Atlanta Stone Mountain, given its characteristics and location, would likely include:

  • Families and Leisure Travelers: Particularly those planning to visit Stone Mountain Park and seeking an affordable, conveniently located place to stay.
  • Budget-Conscious Travelers: Individuals and groups prioritizing cost savings on accommodation while still expecting fundamental amenities.
  • Road Trippers and Transient Guests: Travelers on long journeys or those needing immediate, accessible lodging with ample parking.
  • Business Travelers: Professionals on assignments in the Stone Mountain area or surrounding regions who require a practical and economical base with internet access and parking.

In conclusion, Days Inn by Wyndham Atlanta Stone Mountain, located at 2006 Glenn Club Dr, Stone Mountain, GA 30087, USA, presents itself as a conveniently located and budget-friendly option, especially for those visiting Stone Mountain Park. While it theoretically offers a standard set of amenities expected from the Days Inn brand, including complimentary breakfast, Wi-Fi, and an outdoor pool, potential guests are strongly advised to consider the severe and consistent negative customer reviews that highlight significant issues with cleanliness, maintenance, noise, and non-delivery of advertised services. These critical insights indicate that the actual guest experience can be highly problematic. Therefore, prospective visitors should weigh these critical factors carefully against the convenience of the location when making their accommodation choice.

Rooms aren’t frightening but as you stay you’ll notice that they aren’t properly cleaned. Mold is like an additional guest alongside you. They clean the sink and counters with the same cloth they use to clean the toilet, if they clean them at all. Hands guests towels they’ve dropped on the ground and/or towels that are clearly dirty/used. They decide whether or not if they want to change your sheets or flip them around. Maybe even just make up the bed. They don’t clean floors ( hardwood ) unless it’s obvious they need to. They will continue to knock on the door a countless number of times and open the door. Yes, that seems normal until… there’s a do not disturb sign on the door and both locks on. They’ll open the door, peek in, and proceed to speak to you WHILE YOU'RE VISIBLY SLEEPING OR IN BED ( THE MEN!!!). The ice has a smell to it, I’m sure mold lives there as well. I’ve heard another person yell about bed bugs two rooms down shortly before ending my stay. Oh NO BREAKFAST!! DON’T EVEN BOTHER ASKING, I’m sure they expect you to stay the night at their hotel and THEN travel to other hotels in the area for THEIR free breakfast. Yes, when you walk into the lobby you’ll see at the appliances to make breakfast but they don’t. Some of the front desk workers don’t care about providing good customer service. There’s one young lady that was wonderful and I hate that I didn’t get her name before I left but you’ll know who she is if you still decide to go. The price makes sense for the experience… sometimes. I don’t recommend but if you want to laugh, starve, and sleep dangerous for $60/night (on occasion), come on down to The Days Inn. OH and another good thing is the area. Not the view because you’re NOT getting that but there are a lot of stores, food, and amenities in this area.

Ok. You want a room? No problem. You want the floor clean? Well some of it will be. You want a shower? No problem. You want soft towels? Obviously they aren't. Beds were comfortable and price was right. Location doesn't feel the best. Some guests adjacent to us were super loud at 2 am BUT... the worst was the "breakfast." Small muffins, coffee and juice but no idea how fresh it was, yogurt was not restocked at any point in our 3 nights there, fruit bars and instant oatmeal but I hope you like apples and cinnamon type because it's all they have. Everything is Walmart brand and pretty sure they just go there to get stuff when people complain. I generally expect more from Days Inn. This was unacceptable.

Wonderful experience. The room was ready and cleaned beautiful. Beds are big and comfortable. We were at Stone mountain Park and more freezing after the laser light show. And they already had the heat on for us to warm us up. The young lady at the front desk was very sweet and helpful.
