ONE OF MY LEARNING LESSONS:READ All REVIEWS. The room I was given was sprayed with fragrance to cover up the smoke stench. After it faded you could smell the strong smoke later on in day, especially when heat or fan was on. This place should be renamed Crackhouse Inn. When I went to the front desk to complain, and asked to switch, I was told nothing could be done but to speak to manager in morning. He became very aggressive and scared me. I decided to call the cops who took my side when they smelled the smoke in my room and later were nice enough to talk to the front desk worker who agreed to refund me partial payment. When I went down to reach the worker to inquire about my refund he decided to hide in back room and wouldn't answer my calls. Horrible experience on a holiday stay. Also very noisy area during night, staff smoking near customer parking area, dirty fridge, missing smoke detector, and holes in walls. I am very suspicious of any positive reviews. Rude front desk lady, who was only nice at beginning, lies about EVERYTHING included room availability and refunded me small amount in the morning then tried to lock my room door after cops left out of spite. Luckily cleaning lady opened my door. I don't even want to hear the name of this hell on earth place.
For individuals in the Copiague, Long Island area, particularly those searching for "Hotels Near Of Me," the property located at 10 34th St, Copiague, NY 11726, USA, identified as Days Inn by Wyndham Long Island/Copiague, is now widely known and operates as Red Roof Inn Copiague. This transition is important to note for prospective guests, as the branding and expectations may shift. The hotel can be reached at (631) 842-4700 or +1 631-842-4700.
An objective introduction to this establishment necessitates a candid assessment of its environment and the experiences reported by recent guests. Public reviews frequently describe the property as an older motel, with some explicitly stating it feels like a "1950's era motel" and that online advertisements may be "deceiving and definitely not accurate." The overall condition is often characterized as "very rundown and old," with mentions of "holes in walls" and a general sense of disrepair. A significant concern raised by guests pertains to strong odors, specifically "smoke stench," even in designated non-smoking rooms, which suggests issues with ventilation or persistent lingering smells. Noise is another factor often highlighted, with reports of "loud conversations and door banging during the night" from neighboring rooms, indicating potential soundproofing challenges or issues with other guests. The observation of "people hanging around" has led some guests to suspect the presence of "long term room rentals," which can contribute to a different atmosphere than typically expected in a transient hotel. The exterior corridors are characteristic of motel-style lodging.
When it comes to the rooms, guest feedback is mixed but often critical. While some reviews acknowledge rooms as "reasonably clean," the furniture is frequently described as "old." Bathrooms, in contrast, have sometimes been noted as being "a little more modern and functional." However, severe cleanliness issues have been reported, including "spider webs in the room" suggesting rooms may have been "locked or thoroughly uncleaned for an extended period." Essential safety concerns have also been raised, such as a "missing smoke detector" and a dangerously positioned hair dryer that reportedly sparked when lifted, highlighting potential electrical hazards. Rooms typically come equipped with basic amenities like air conditioning, heating, a flat-screen TV with an expanded cable package including HBO, a desk, microwave, and mini-refrigerator. Free in-room WiFi is also generally available, which is a key feature for most travelers today. Some room types may also feature a jetted tub. Smoking and non-smoking rooms are available, though the issue of smoke odor in non-smoking rooms is a recurring complaint.
The services at Red Roof Inn Copiague include a 24-hour front desk. While some guests initially found the staff friendly, several critical reviews describe negative interactions, citing instances of aggressive behavior, unhelpfulness regarding complaints about room conditions, and perceived dishonesty concerning room availability or refunds. One review vividly recounts a situation requiring police intervention to secure a partial refund due to an unbearable smoky room and subsequent attempts by staff to "lock my room door after cops left out of spite." This paints a picture of inconsistent and, at times, severely problematic customer service. Housekeeping services are available, though one guest was informed that extra towels could not be provided because "housekeeping is closed." The hotel offers free self-parking, which is a practical amenity for guests arriving by car. A complimentary continental breakfast is generally provided, often including items like a waffle maker, which can be a convenient start to the day. Coffee and tea are typically available in the lobby. The property states it is accessible, with wheelchair-accessible parking and paths to the entrance, and offers some accessible room types.
Key features of the property, as a Red Roof Inn, usually include free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel, free coffee in the lobby, and complimentary newspapers. The hotel is pet-friendly, though only service animals are typically allowed without fees, with a strict "no pets allowed" policy for others. A refundable $50 deposit is required at check-in. The hotel does not have an elevator, which is relevant for guests with mobility concerns, as it has two floors. While the hotel aims to offer budget-friendly accommodations, the value proposition is often debated in reviews, with some guests finding it the "cheapest place in the area" but questioning the quality for the price due to the reported issues. Check-in typically begins at 3:00 PM, and check-out is by 11:00 AM, with early check-in and late check-out potentially available for a fee, subject to availability. The hotel was last renovated in 2023, which suggests efforts to update the property, though guest experiences indicate ongoing challenges.

Dec 27, 2024 · CIt's called red roof now. I know NY is expensive but I couldn't get my head around the fact they can provide such a rubbish service and get away with it. I was shocked that they copied my id and credit card as this is not allowed in Europe- data protection laws. I asked for extra towels - can't do it as housekeeping is closed. We stayed in a non smoking room yet i could smell cigarette stink lingering on the walls and bedding. Extra blanket we asked for had burnt cigarette holes in sever places. The worst shock (no pun intended) was from the hair dryer in the bathroom that was located, low and behold, by the sink! And plugged into mains. Also no 'hold' button to operate but stays on. The holder on the wall was loosly fitted and sparks started flying from it when i lifted it. I disconnected it immediately but my first instinct was to drop it. If i did i would most certainly got electrocuted. This set up is so dangerous. It should be fitted in the room, not by the sink! I left it unplugged as this is a disaster waiting to happen. This is still the cheapest place in the area but i doubt id be staying again after the experience. Please be careful.
Aug 06, 2024 · Ms JonesThis hotel was perfect for the price and served its purpose. The room was clean, smelled bleach in bathrooms & jacuzzi. I'm a clean freak so I checked everything, under the sheets, mattress...etc.The room even came with a convenient mini fridge & microwave. I think the breakfast could be a little more variety like muffins and bagels. But the hotel was not booked for its breakfast. I needed a last minute arrangement due to a medical issue. She was very accommodating and friendly. I'm staying there again soon. I already booked it!!
Aug 17, 2022 · Kristina SchneiderThis hotel is good if you’re just looking to sleep. No amenities, continental breakfast is TRASH! TV’s and remotes in rooms barely work. Lighting is too bright and not good. Plus side, room does come with a fridge and microwave. Rooms are clean however! Proceed with caution.
Sep 03, 2023 · Erika BarashOur room was literally slanted. Like the floor was so slanted it was like walking down a hill from one side of the room to the other. It had a weird smell in it. Like tons of male perfume to mask cigarette scent. It was supposed to be a non smoking room. The area it's located is extremely sketchy and unsafe. The sheets were also stained. We left and didn't sleep here mostly because our room was slanted. I feel like this is very unsafe to stay here with how slanted and uneven our room was. The pictures they shown online are definitely not what you get. Extremely outdated. I wonder how old that comfortable on that bed was?? Do not waste your money here
