To whom it may concern. My family and I stayed last night at Hilton Long Island and was disappointed to say the least. First, our flight arrived early so I called at 2pm for an early check in and was told I had to pay an early check in fee of $25. I thought as a reward member that was not so as other Hilton stays have checked me in early with no fee or problems. Second, upon arrival the AC in the lobby was out and it was warmer than normal in the lobby. Third, as we went up to the room, we realized the elevator down button wasn't working and they had exposed wires showing in the hallway roof area. Forth, once in the room 316, we did not have any small shower rags, and the AC was not working in the room. I proceeded to call the front desk and they told me I could open the window for air. I was shocked and lost for words. Respectfully, I told the front desk lady that would not be possible as it was 79 degrees outside, high polin season right now, my wife and 2 young kids have allergies, and it makes no sense to pay full price for a room with such deficiencies. She then told me to come down stairs to bring the keys so she could switch our rooms. I thought things would be good moving forward but I was very wrong. They put us in room 227 where the AC unit was extremely loud and the bed was broke and the dresser was also broke. I called the front desk and they sent an engineer who didn't even need to come in as he already knew the bed and dresser was broke as he explained there was a domestic violence issue in this room the stay prior and should not have been available. I was lost for words. He then went to the front desk and got me 2 keys, one for room 233 and 223. We checked both rooms and 233 AC was not working as well as broken dresser, and 223 AC was working, bed was ok, but broken dresser top. We took 223 but was not impressed. To top it off the jacuzzi was down as well and not working and pool had white foam patches floating around. To say the least, disappointing stay. They also didn't even offer any compensation or assistance for all the above discomforts and disappointing stay. Hilton has always impressed me and this is just so below the standard. Hilton Long Island/Huntington Introduce

The Hilton Long Island/Huntington, situated at 598 Broadhollow Rd, Melville, NY 11747, USA, is a prominent hotel option for individuals searching within the "Hotels Near Of Me" category in the Long Island area. As a Hilton property, it aims to provide a certain standard of comfort and service that is typically associated with the brand. This introduction will provide an objective overview of the hotel's environment, services, features, and available promotional information, incorporating insights from recent customer reviews.

Environment and Location:

The Hilton Long Island/Huntington is strategically located in Melville, a significant business and commercial hub on Long Island. Its address on Broadhollow Road (Route 110) places it in a prime position for easy access to major corporate offices, industrial parks, and various local attractions. Route 110 is a key artery connecting different parts of Long Island, making the hotel accessible for both local and out-of-town guests traveling by car.

The hotel's environment is designed to cater to a mix of business and leisure travelers. While surrounded by commercial establishments, the property itself aims to offer a comfortable retreat. Its location provides convenient access to a variety of Long Island points of interest, including:

  • Adventureland: A popular family amusement park.
  • Walt Whitman Shops: An upscale shopping mall for retail therapy.
  • Bethpage State Park: Home to five golf courses, including the renowned Black Course.
  • Farmingdale State College and Stony Brook University: Proximity for those visiting academic institutions.
  • Long Island wineries: Providing opportunities for wine tasting tours.
  • Beaches: Access to Long Island's famous beaches for recreational activities.
  • Plainview, Huntington, and Farmingdale: Nearby towns offering additional dining, shopping, and entertainment options.
The hotel is also approximately 30 minutes from Long Island MacArthur Airport (ISP), offering convenience for air travelers.

Services and Amenities:

The Hilton Long Island/Huntington offers a comprehensive array of services and amenities, aiming to provide a full-service hotel experience. These generally include:

  • Accommodations: The hotel typically features a range of rooms and suites equipped with standard Hilton amenities such as HDTVs, work desks, Wi-Fi access, coffee makers, and comfortable bedding. Some rooms may offer executive lounge access or additional space.
  • Dining: The hotel usually has on-site dining options, often including a restaurant for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and a bar or lounge for drinks and lighter fare. Room service is typically available.
  • Recreation and Fitness: Guests can expect facilities like an indoor pool and a seasonal outdoor pool. A fitness center is also typically available for guests to maintain their workout routines.
  • Business and Event Facilities: As a Hilton property in a business hub, the hotel is equipped with extensive meeting and event spaces, including ballrooms and smaller meeting rooms, suitable for conferences, weddings, and other social gatherings. A business center with printing and internet access is usually available.
  • Conveniences: Common conveniences include a 24-hour front desk, express check-in/check-out, luggage storage, laundry/dry cleaning services, and an ATM. Complimentary self-parking is usually provided. The hotel is generally pet-friendly, with specific policies and fees applicable.

Features and Guest Experience:

The Hilton Long Island/Huntington aims to provide a reliable and comfortable stay, leveraging the established brand standards of Hilton. However, recent customer reviews indicate significant inconsistencies in the guest experience, which are important for potential visitors to consider. Positive aspects often highlighted for Hilton properties, generally, include a welcoming ambiance and a range of facilities. The hotel's location is often cited as convenient for accessing various parts of Long Island.

However, recent guest feedback specifically for this property points to several areas of concern:

  • Room Condition: Multiple reviews mention issues such as non-functional air conditioning, exposed wires in hallways, broken furniture (beds, dressers), clogged washbasins, leaking showers, and uncleanliness (hair and dust on floors, dirty carpets). Some guests reported smoke smells in non-smoking rooms.
  • Maintenance Issues: Beyond room-specific problems, general property maintenance appears to be a concern, with reports of broken elevators, non-working jacuzzis, and visible white foam patches in the pool.
  • Customer Service: While some guests might experience satisfactory interactions, specific reviews describe the front desk staff as "horrible" and "rude," with instances of unhelpful responses to complaints (e.g., advising to open windows instead of fixing AC) and a lack of empathy or compensation for significant discomforts. There are also mentions of calls to the front desk being ignored.
  • Housekeeping Standards: Concerns about housekeeping practices have been raised, with observations that rooms are not vacuumed, leading to hair and dust accumulation.
  • Amenities Functionality: Reports of coffee makers having no accessible outlets and overall outdated appearance of rooms and bathrooms suggest a need for updates.
These detailed accounts suggest that while the hotel aims to offer a Hilton-standard experience with its range of amenities, the actual execution and maintenance may fall short of expectations, leading to a disappointing stay for some guests. The discrepancy between the perceived brand standard and the actual experience is a recurring theme in critical reviews.

Promotional Information:

As a Hilton brand hotel, the Hilton Long Island/Huntington participates in the Hilton Honors loyalty program. This allows guests to earn points for their stays, which can be redeemed for free nights, exclusive experiences, and other benefits. The hotel's promotional efforts typically focus on its comprehensive amenities, convenient location for both business and leisure travelers, and its capacity for events and meetings. Booking directly through Hilton channels or via their official website often provides access to member-exclusive rates and special offers. However, potential guests are strongly advised to review recent customer feedback to set realistic expectations regarding the current condition and service levels of the property, especially given the detailed negative experiences shared by recent visitors. Any promotions should be weighed against the reported inconsistencies in quality and maintenance.

If I had an option I would give zero stars for this outdated, beaten up old pricey property . Horrible , rude customer service for over priced stay. Bathrooms n rooms show age . Carpets stink. Exposed wires in hall ways. Broken windows, old towels, clogged wash basin, leaking showers. Rooms are so dirty. They do not vacuum the rooms. I was waiting outside while house keeping was cleaning our room and they do not vacuum floors. Hair and dust all over the floor. You call front desk just to be ignored.. Coffee maker in room but no outlet to plug in. Front desk , one of the worst , particularly this guy named Mina. He shud never be allowed any customer facing job.very dirty hotel, stay away. I am a frequent traveler and have not seen one dirty hotel.

I actually didn’t stay here. I was here for a convention and absolutely beautiful grounds. A lot of parking. They have a pool and they have a huge convention center. I’m posting this for people who have big events. It’s a beautiful place to host them. Conferences, trade shows! Etc great great place. The staff was so amazing and kind as well and we’re on top of everything. The convention was beautiful and clean always. I would honestly come and stay here with my family if I was in the island and didn’t want to drive back in.

This hotel was perfect for me for the weekend stay. Very good location (easily accessible), nice spacious room with a fantastic shower, solid pool/hot-tub area... and outstanding service from Hillary, Lourdes, and Andrea. These aforementioned ladies helped me with a personal matter in a very timely, professional, and efficient matter... and I could not be more grateful for their service. Thank you very much Hilton Long Island/Huntington!

Outdated, dank, drab, and uninspired property. It was like taking a stroll down memory lane into the 1990s. As I tried to sleep on my 1990s mattress, and couldn't, I was reminiscing about my Gen X young adulthood days. I researched the suicide of Kurt Cobain, and concluded that he (and not Courtney) did it. Let's see, what else? The hot tub in the pool was literally colder than the pool. And I specifically chose this hotel for the hot tub. Room was above lobby bar, so it was really loud really late. Parking wasn't great. Price wasn't great either. I won't be back, but at least all staff tried hard. Nice pleasant folks all over the hotel. Next time I will go with a newer fresher cleaner hotel - loads of them nearby.
