This was the worst hotel we have EVER been too. They required a $50 cash deposit upon check in. The hotel smelled like musty dog. The lobby area was very dirty and filled garbage bags in the hallway. The room smelled bad. The heat did not work. There was poop on the toilet seat. Carpet was dirty. Mold around the air conditioner/heating unit. Called the front desk with no answer. My husband walked the property to see if he could find anyone to help but didn’t. Waiting 30 minutes for someone to come to the front. When he finally arrives to the desk said we wanted a full refund because we were not staying in this filth. Went directly to the housekeeping folder to apparently see who cleaned the room. Said all we want is a refund. Made us call the 800 number to “approve” the refund. The 800 number said the rest was cancelled and didn’t understand why we needed to call. Never got an apology, can I offer you another room… NOTHING. The manager kept walking away on his personal phone speaking another language. This place doesn’t not even deserve one star. Fingers crossed we will be refunded the $122.00. Said it would take 5 days. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

The environment of the Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Youngstown / Girard Ohio is typical of a roadside motel situated along a state route (East Liberty Street, which is Route 193). This location provides convenient access for motorists traveling to and from the Youngstown area, as well as nearby attractions in Trumbull County. While not offering a picturesque or secluded setting, its accessibility to major roads is a primary functional benefit for travelers. The surrounding area typically consists of other commercial establishments, including various local businesses and dining options, which may be within a short driving distance. The convenience of its location near the Ohio Turnpike (I-80/I-76) and other state routes positions it as a stopover point for those on longer journeys.
The services commonly advertised by Days Inn properties, and generally expected from this hotel, include a complimentary "Daybreak Breakfast," which typically comprises continental items such as coffee, tea, juice, milk, cereal, toast, and pastries. This free breakfast is a notable convenience for guests looking to save on morning meals. Free Wi-Fi access is usually available throughout the hotel, allowing guests to stay connected. The hotel typically offers free self-parking on-site, which is an essential amenity for guests arriving by car. A 24-hour front desk is standard for most hotels, aiming to provide round-the-clock assistance for check-ins, check-outs, and guest inquiries. While not explicitly detailed, other common services might include vending machines for snacks and beverages. However, recent customer reviews suggest significant shortcomings in the actual delivery of these services, with reports of unanswered calls to the front desk and difficulties in finding staff.
In terms of features, the Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Youngstown / Girard Ohio generally provides rooms equipped with basic amenities. These typically include air-conditioned accommodations, a flat-screen television with cable channels, and a private bathroom. Some rooms may offer additional conveniences such as a microwave and a refrigerator, which are valuable for storing food and beverages, especially for extended stays. The hotel is often listed as pet-friendly, catering to travelers with animals, although specific pet policies and fees should always be confirmed directly with the property. The property may also feature an indoor pool, a common amenity for Days Inn hotels, providing a recreational option for guests. Accessible rooms and facilities are usually available to accommodate guests with disabilities. However, according to recent customer feedback, the actual condition and functionality of these features, such as heating units, cleanliness, and overall room quality, appear to be highly problematic.
It is imperative to provide an objective and comprehensive overview by directly addressing the highly critical guest reviews. The overwhelming sentiment from recent customers depicts an extremely negative experience. Reports include a pervasive "musty dog" or "unpleasant odor" throughout the premises, suggesting significant issues with air quality and cleanliness. Guests have described the lobby area as "very dirty" and hallways "filled with garbage bags." Room conditions are consistently criticized, with mentions of "poop on the toilet seat," "dirty carpet," "mold around the air conditioner/heating unit," "stained linens," and "worn out furniture." The functionality of in-room amenities like heating has also been reported as non-existent. Beyond the physical condition, severe concerns regarding safety have been raised, with mentions of "suspicious activities nearby" and "unlocked doors," contributing to a feeling of insecurity. Customer service has also been heavily criticized, with reports of unhelpful and unfriendly staff, difficulty reaching the front desk, extended waits for assistance, and an unwillingness to address guest concerns or provide apologies. The requirement of a cash deposit upon check-in, coupled with difficulties in obtaining refunds, has also been a significant source of frustration. The presence of what one review termed "meth heads standing outside the upstairs door yelling on the phone" and general "people watching" further contributes to a perception of an unsafe and undesirable environment.
Given the consistently negative and concerning nature of these reviews, any promotional information for Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Youngstown / Girard Ohio must be viewed with caution. While it is a part of the Wyndham Hotels & Resorts portfolio and would typically participate in the Wyndham Rewards loyalty program, offering points for stays and potential member benefits, the experiences described by recent guests severely undermine any perceived value from such programs. Standard promotions for budget hotels, such as competitive rates, discounts for advance bookings, or special packages, would typically apply. However, the issues raised regarding cleanliness, safety, and service would likely overshadow any price advantage. Prospective guests are strongly advised to exercise extreme caution and consider these severe warnings. It would be prudent to verify current conditions directly with the hotel management or to seek alternative accommodations in the area. Contacting the hotel directly at (330) 531-8478 for specific information regarding property conditions or recent changes would be critical before making a booking decision. The disparity between typical brand standards and the reported guest experiences suggests significant operational challenges at this specific location.
In conclusion, the Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Youngstown / Girard Ohio, located at 1615 E Liberty St, Girard, OH, is presented as a "Hotel Near Me" option, theoretically offering basic amenities like free breakfast and Wi-Fi. However, objective analysis of recent customer reviews reveals severe and consistent concerns regarding cleanliness, pervasive odors, safety, and unresponsive customer service. While its location provides convenient access for motorists, the reported on-site conditions suggest a highly unsatisfactory guest experience. Therefore, while it may appear as an available option, potential travelers are strongly advised to proceed with extreme caution and consider the significant risks highlighted by numerous past guests regarding their stay at this property.

Apr 12, 2025 · Jocelyn LeFebvreI recently had the misfortune of staying at the Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Youngstown/Girard Ohio, and it was a thoroughly disappointing experience. The hotel had a pervasive and unpleasant odor throughout the premises, which was quite overwhelming. The smell was so bad that it seemed like they were using strong air fresheners to mask it, but it didn’t help much. The area around the hotel felt unsafe, with reports of suspicious activities nearby. I didn’t feel secure during my stay, especially since some doors were unlocked, which added to my anxiety. The room itself was in poor condition. It was dirty, with signs of mold and stained linens. The furniture was worn out, and some basic amenities were missing. The carpet looked old and dirty, and the overall cleanliness was subpar. To make matters worse, the staff seemed unhelpful and unfriendly. They didn’t address my concerns properly and seemed more interested in charging extra fees than in providing good customer service. Overall, I would strongly advise against staying at this hotel unless significant improvements are made. The combination of cleanliness issues, safety concerns, and poor management makes it a place to avoid.
Mar 21, 2025 · Elves HenriqueThis hotel is trash. The management sucks. First off my wife called to confirm our reservation and the guy named Ram was rude wouldn't do anything to accommodate the inconvenience for the pool being down. He said it was because of climate change. It's an indoor pool how is that climate change. Put it on the website if the pool is down for certain months. We booked this hotel because of the pool. When she called earlier in the day on the day we checked in to speak with the manager we were told that he was off today after Ram told us he would be in on the day we checked in. When we checked in the guy at the desk was very rude to my wife from the jump for no reason she wasn't even being rude or mean. She simply just asked what they were gonna do for us because the pool was down and they said we could cancel our reservation. Instead of upgrading our rooms or just one room. Then we go to our rooms and they were dirty the ceiling in the bathroom is falling apart. The room is filthy. We went to Walmart and got cleaning supplies to disinfect the room. The hallway is filthy also. There are numerous beer boxes and beer cans but the vending machine and ice machine in the lobby. Pic posted below. The toilet seat in my room is broken. This place has poor management skills. He couldn't even call my wife to let her know what they were gonna do for the inconvenience from the pool. He texted his employee and had the employee call her. Just to find out they wouldn't do anything about it. This is the first hotel that I have ever been to that there was no manager on duty. I'm calling the customer care number and reporting them to the bbb.
May 17, 2025 · Heath LandfairI called ahead to rent a room for one night. I booked it because it had a indoor pool and hot tub. I called the day before we came to see what hours the pool was open because we had a busy schedule and the lady said from 2pm to 9 pm. When we got there to check in they said the pool and hot tub were down for maintenance. I asked them if it was down the day before and he said yes. I explained that I called the day before and they said it was open. So we go through with the check in, we get to the room. The TV remote doesn't work, so my husband took it down to the front desk. In the mean time I pull down the bed spread and there was hair all over the sheets so the guy from the front desk came up and said he would have housekeeping change the sheets. I told him I didn't want changed sheets. I want new hotel so I want my money back. He had to call management. We got our money back and left.
Mar 23, 2025 · Caroline KigerRoom was absolutely disgusting. Looked like stains on the chairs which looked like the location of a diddy party. Beds had crud on them and lights were literally flickering. Only redeemable thing was the customer service. They refunded us immediately. Lmao.
