When booking a room 2 weeks before my stay, I called the hotel directly. I requested an early check-in, as I was attending a wedding in Manhattan at 3:00, and was assured that that would not be a problem. After my 2.5 hour drive, I was hoping to check in at 1:00 in order to quickly freshen up, change clothes, and catch a train into the city. That didn't happen. I had to wash up and change clothes in the restaurant bathroom while lugging my luggage around on a hot day in May. The staff was quite rude, and it took them a while to simply get me a wash cloth and a towel. When I returned at 10:30, it was apparent that the front desk staff were still having issues. I did eventually get into a room but was not given a room key, and the clerk escorted me to the room. After all that, the least the hotel could have done was discount the cost in some way, or cover the parking fee or breakfast. I doubt I'll stay at a Hilton again. The bed was comfortable.

May 18, 2025 · Kevin OldhamA pretty descent place to stay. The front desk was nice, she even let me check in early without extra charge. The breakfast buffet is really good with waiter serves you coffee and drinks. The room on the other hand, doesn't feel like a 4 start hotel. Some 3 start hotel have better room & bathroom than this one. But consider the location, this hotel is worth the price.
Apr 27, 2025 · YUQI WHotel was terrible experience for Hilton standard. Had to be escorted to the kitchen to take service elevator due to the way the hotel is laid out. Had to wait 1 hour to get a pack n play for our baby after the front desk said one was not available. Hotel claimed no one at the hotel had access to the pack-n-plays as only a front desk agent and the security guard were present, and refused to contact a manager on duty. The fact the hotel would place a baby in harms way due to understaffing was irritating. And I find it hard to believe a hotel would leave rooms locked that couldn’t be accessed. And then we had to wait another 30 minutes to get extra towels when our room was not serviced. Why would a room with 2 people for 2 nights not have more than 2 towels and rags. The only positive thing is the young man that was the universal security agent. He was the one that walked us to elevator and brought the pack n play to our room after we were told one was not available.
May 11, 2025 · Carson KennedySecurity, Housekeeping, Bistro, Front Desk staff were very attentive and accommodating. The rooms were tidy, modern and what you’d expect. But the paper thin walls make this place not worth it at all. You can hear literally everything in the hallway including the neighbors. It was so bad I even heard my neighbors intrusive thoughts. Ended up leaving, eating the cost and staying at an AirBNB. If you value your sleep and noise control then do not book here
Apr 22, 2025 · RussI do not recommend this hotel! Lots of issues. I see folks that like this hotel are people whose companies most likely paid for their stays. I mean I had to check out to go to another Hilton property! Here are my honest reviews (with photos attached): 1. Room - the room was spacious enough. The carpet however had multiple stains on it, like gum stains. There was a smell of something of sort. In addition, some of the beddings were certainly not white; they were faded and overused (photos attached). 2. Bathroom - the bathroom had what I hope was not mould in the crevices and corners. It was too small, metallic areas are rusty and I wondered if this Hilton franchise is maintained properly. 3. F & B - forget this! This is non-existent! They charge $27 (or maybe $22, can't remember) for breakfast. There is no microwave in the room, and the only one at the Lobby is unkempt and uncleaned. 4. Staff - relatively good attitude but not friendly. When I checked in, one of the staff mentioned they wouldn't stay at the hotel, never, and I agree. She was pleasant and nice enough. 5. Parking - forget parking! The LAZ parking company charges minimum of $40 per day. The hotel charges $47 per night with in and out privileges which makes the difference between the owners of the parking lot (LAZ). Do not park here if you ever need to. 6. Overall environment - the hotel is located in the downtown area of Newark, steps away from the Newark Penn Station. There is an offensive smell in and around the hotel, area is dirty and even the parking lot is poorly kept. Just take a look at the torn pipes and mouldy ceiling when next you go there to park your vehicles. Overall experience - well, I checked out to another Hilton property because I was irritated by the moldy bathroom, the stench from the environment, lack of microwave, and dirty microwave plus no free breakfast! In conclusion, I will not be back! :-)
