All the people were very nice. But I did have the following issues: EV charging- The company chosen reportedly has an app, it just has a different name than the one the company offers. The link to it on their website is wrong, and their customer support can't tell me the name, but can describe the logo (I wish I were making this up). I'm charging on the way home. Breakfast- Buffet used to be included. Now you get a credit to use at the restaurant which won't cover it. The restaurant is understaffed. One diner got no silverware nor napkin. There were no coffee refills (at least none that could be obtained). The food quality is good but I'm still getting breakfast elsewhere tomorrow.

DoubleTree by Hilton Schenectady Downtown Introduce

For those in the Schenectady area searching for "Hotels Near Of Me," the DoubleTree by Hilton Schenectady Downtown presents a well-known and centrally located accommodation option. Situated at 100 Nott Terrace, Schenectady, NY 12308, USA, this hotel offers a blend of comfort, convenience, and a range of amenities designed to cater to both business and leisure travelers. Its downtown location places guests within easy reach of key attractions, businesses, and entertainment venues in Schenectady.

The environment of the DoubleTree by Hilton Schenectady Downtown is typical of a modern city hotel, designed to provide comfort and functionality. Its downtown location means guests are amidst the urban landscape, offering convenient access to the city's offerings. The hotel is situated in the heart of Schenectady, placing it within walking distance or a short drive of significant landmarks such as Proctors Theatre, the Schenectady Armory Center, Union College, and the Empire State Aerosciences Museum. For business travelers, its proximity to General Electric (GE) is a notable advantage, a point frequently mentioned in reviews. While the immediate surroundings might not be sprawling green spaces, the urban setting provides vibrant city life. The hotel generally maintains a clean and well-kept appearance, common for the DoubleTree brand, contributing to a pleasant atmosphere. Guests can expect a professional ambiance suitable for both corporate and personal stays. The design and layout aim to create a welcoming and comfortable indoor environment, providing a retreat from the city's energy while offering easy access to it.

The DoubleTree by Hilton Schenectady Downtown offers a comprehensive suite of services aimed at enhancing guest comfort and convenience. A hallmark of the DoubleTree brand is the warm chocolate chip cookie greeting upon check-in, a small touch that often leaves a positive first impression. The front desk operates 24 hours a day, ensuring round-the-clock assistance for check-ins, check-outs, and any guest inquiries. While some recent reviews indicate changes in breakfast offerings, historically, the hotel has provided dining options including a restaurant, The Great American Grill, and a bar, The Great American Bar. Guests are advised to confirm current breakfast policies and any associated costs, as a review indicates a shift from inclusive buffet to a credit system that may not cover the full cost. Room service is generally available for those who prefer to dine in the comfort of their room. The hotel offers free Wi-Fi in public areas, though premium Wi-Fi may be available for a fee in rooms. Business services include a well-equipped business center with internet access and printing facilities, as well as meeting and event spaces. For those with vehicles, parking is available, though some guests have noted issues with the electric vehicle (EV) charging system's app and customer support. The hotel also provides laundry facilities and dry cleaning services. All public areas and guest rooms are smoke-free. Additionally, the hotel is pet-friendly, allowing dogs and cats for a fee, with service animals exempted.

The features of the DoubleTree by Hilton Schenectady Downtown are designed to provide a comfortable and productive stay. The hotel offers a variety of non-smoking guest rooms and suites, often equipped with signature Sweet Dreams® by DoubleTree beds, ensuring a restful sleep. In-room amenities typically include flat-screen TVs with cable channels, coffee makers, mini-refrigerators, desks with ergonomic chairs, irons and ironing boards, and hair dryers. Connectivity is facilitated by outlets and USB ports for charging devices. For recreation, the hotel boasts an indoor swimming pool, which is a popular amenity for guests of all ages, allowing for relaxation and exercise regardless of the weather. A fitness center is also available, equipped with cardio machines and weights for those who wish to maintain their workout routine. Meeting and event facilities are a significant feature, with multiple versatile spaces capable of accommodating various gatherings, from corporate conferences to social events like weddings. These spaces are often equipped with modern audiovisual technology. For dining and socializing, the on-site restaurant and bar provide convenient options, though recent reviews suggest a potential decline in quality and service, particularly at the bar. Guests seeking alternative dining options might find more choices near the casino, as suggested by a recent review. The hotel also features accessible rooms and public areas, ensuring comfort for guests with disabilities.

In terms of promotional information, DoubleTree by Hilton Schenectady Downtown, as part of the global Hilton brand, participates in Hilton Honors, a widely recognized loyalty program offering points for stays and various member benefits like free Wi-Fi and discounted rates. Guests can often find special offers and packages by booking directly through the Hilton website or by calling the hotel at (518) 393-4141 or +1 518-393-4141. These promotions might include discounts for advance purchases, extended stays, or bundled packages that include breakfast or other amenities. The hotel's prime downtown location and proximity to major attractions like Proctors Theatre and GE are frequently highlighted in marketing materials, appealing to both business and leisure travelers. While recent reviews have pointed out some areas where quality has reportedly declined, particularly regarding breakfast value and bar offerings, the core appeal of the DoubleTree brand's comfort and service, especially the welcoming cookie, remains a key promotional element. The hotel's capacity to host events also serves as a strong promotional point for local businesses and individuals planning gatherings. Despite some recent critical feedback, the hotel continues to be a prominent option for those seeking "Hotels Near Of Me" in the Schenectady area, particularly for its location and brand recognition.

The service is actually good, the management clearly doesn't care about the clientele. Which is sad, there are business travelers from all over with GE being close by. The bar used to be stocked with quality choices, now it's whatever is cheapest. The food used to be better as well. Overall quality is going down quickly. Better off staying at hotels near the casino where there are more food options nearby.

Good hotel, has everything you need. Pool was quite cold so didn’t end up swimming with my child. Got back late, went to order food however restaurant closed at 10 but the gentleman at the bar was great and offered to get something small made. 3 star solely based on thermostat in the room not working, tried turning on heat and air to get it to turn on and wouldn’t change from 67 degrees.

I booked a room for the night of 2/19/25 while my child and I were touring area colleges. I noted on my reservation that I chose this hotel specifically because of the EV charger. When I plugged my car in, nothing happened. I worked on it on my own, with hotel staff, and finally after downloading 2 incorrect apps (and registering accounts with both!) I called the helpline number listed on the charger itself. I waited on hold for 10 minutes, then spoke to the rep for another 20 before I was able to convince them their app doesn't show up in GooglePlay. Finally, they got permission to email me a link. This was incredibly frustrating, it was literally 17 degrees out and I had to clamber around the chargers that were surrounded by snow and ice. The staff was kind and respectful, but did not solve the problem. I expect to be able to use a listed amenity without an hour of freezing and total frustration. I did a lot of frustrating work on my own. If you are an android user and are counting on the EV charger, beware.

The person checking us in was great. He was super nice and actually had a sense of humor (unlike other hotels). We ran into room service as we were leaving, and she was super nice. The beds were pretty comfortable. They weren't the best, but they were good. The only thing I wish I knew beforehand is that the breakfast isn't free. To their credit, they do say on their website that breakfast is available at a fee. I just didn't read that ahead of time. I just assumed it was going to be free. So, I can't ding them on that at all. Overall, a good place to rest.
