Positive: Rooms are nice and clean View of the river Negative: n No coffee or tea in room. If you'd like either of these, you must purchase from Starbucks in lobby. No food option if you're travelling with kids, because restaurants are in casino Wi-fi is terrible, weak, cuts out constantly, and is unsecured so I assume everyone in the casino is on it too. My ATT cell service struggles to get 1 bar in the room This is always going to be primarily a casino hotel. It's OK, but could be significantly better with very little effort Not saying I'll never come back, but it won't be my first choice.

The Landing Hotel at Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady Introduce

For users searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in the Schenectady, NY area, The Landing Hotel at Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady presents a distinct lodging option, primarily appealing to those seeking an integrated casino and entertainment experience. Located at 21 Rush Street, Schenectady, NY 12305, USA, this hotel is directly linked to the Rivers Casino & Resort, influencing every aspect of a guest's stay. The hotel can be contacted via phone at (518) 579-8800 or mobile at +1 518-579-8800.

The environment of The Landing Hotel is inextricably tied to its primary function as a casino hotel. Situated within the Mohawk Harbor development, it offers views of the river, which is a positive environmental aspect for guests. However, the overarching atmosphere is that of a casino resort. This means that the common areas, and even the path to the rooms, can involve navigating through the casino floor or areas adjacent to it, which may be characterized by the sounds and activities typically found in a gaming establishment. One review explicitly mentions having to "walk through a bar on the way to your room," indicating an immersive casino environment that might not appeal to all types of travelers, especially families. The overall aesthetic of the hotel has received mixed feedback; one highly critical review sarcastically describes it as "designed by a toddler" and "ugly," noting that "only the hotel backside is in the promotional materials," which suggests a discrepancy between perceived aesthetics and marketing. The main entrance is even described as a "loading dock," contributing to a less-than-grand arrival experience for some. The environment, therefore, is primarily geared towards adults seeking entertainment, gambling, and a lively atmosphere, potentially at the expense of quietude or a traditional hotel ambiance.

The services offered at The Landing Hotel are tailored to its casino resort nature, but some aspects have been highlighted as needing improvement. While the rooms are generally described as "nice and clean," which is a fundamental service expectation, other services fall short for some guests. A significant point of concern for travelers is the lack of complimentary in-room coffee or tea. Guests are required to "purchase from Starbucks in lobby" if they desire these amenities, which can be an inconvenience and an unexpected additional cost. Another crucial service deficiency, especially for families, is the limited food options for children, as the main restaurants are located within the casino, implying an adult-oriented dining scene. Customer service at the front desk and other areas was not explicitly detailed in the positive light, but the negative review mentions a "hidden front desk" and questions the general design and layout. The Wi-Fi service is another significant area of concern. It's described as "terrible, weak, cuts out constantly, and is unsecured," leading to the assumption that "everyone in the casino is on it too." Furthermore, a guest reported struggling to get "1 bar" of AT&T cell service in their room. These connectivity issues are substantial drawbacks in an era where reliable internet access and cell service are considered essential hotel services. The hotel's response to guest concerns about noise, specifically "drunk guests to wake you up at 3 AM," was not mentioned, suggesting a lack of proactive or effective management of disturbances inherent to a casino environment.

Features of The Landing Hotel reflect its purpose as an extension of the casino experience. The rooms, despite some critiques of the overall aesthetic, are generally reported as "nice and clean." However, unique and potentially inconvenient design features are mentioned. One review notes a "literal barn door for the bathroom" and a "shower stall without a door," which can impact privacy and functionality within the room. These design choices, while possibly intended to be stylish or unique, may not be practical or comfortable for all guests. The hotel's direct connection to the Rivers Casino & Resort is its most defining feature, offering immediate access to gaming, entertainment, and a range of restaurants and bars. However, as noted, these dining options are primarily within the casino, limiting child-friendly choices. The presence of a Starbucks in the lobby is a feature, though the requirement to purchase coffee/tea there is a point of contention. While not explicitly stated, a casino hotel of this caliber would likely feature a fitness center, and potentially other amenities such as meeting spaces, but the reviews do not provide specific details on these. The river view from some rooms is a positive natural feature that enhances the stay for those with such a view.

From a promotional perspective, The Landing Hotel at Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady clearly positions itself as the premier on-site accommodation for visitors to the casino. Its promotional materials would heavily emphasize the direct access to gaming, live entertainment, dining options, and potentially the scenic Mohawk Harbor views. For users searching "Hotels Near Of Me" with an interest in casino entertainment, this hotel would be a top search result and a natural choice. The "Resort" in its name suggests a comprehensive leisure experience, aiming to attract guests who wish to combine their stay with entertainment and dining without leaving the property. However, objective promotional efforts must acknowledge the specific criticisms raised by guests. The lack of in-room coffee/tea, limited family-friendly food options within the hotel itself, and significant issues with Wi-Fi and cell service are points that could detract from the perceived value. While the hotel might present itself as a convenient and integrated entertainment destination, potential guests should be aware that the adult-oriented nature of the property and certain operational or design quirks might influence their overall satisfaction. The promotional messaging would likely target individuals and groups looking for an immersive casino experience, potentially overlooking those seeking a traditional, quiet hotel stay or family-friendly amenities. The critical review's sarcastic tone ("Visit once and never go back!") serves as a stark counterpoint to any overly positive promotional claims, emphasizing the importance of setting realistic expectations for potential guests.

📣 Looking for a hotel designed by a toddler? Look no farther than “Landing Hotel at Rivers Casino & Resort.” A place so ugly only the hotel backside is in the promotional materials! Some of the property’s better offerings: ❓Loading dock for a main entrance? ✅ ❓Drunk guests to wake you up at 3AM? ✅ ❓Hidden front desk? ✅ ❓Walk through a bar on the way to your room? ✅ ❓Literal barn door for the bathroom? ✅ ❓A shower stall without a door? ✅ 🤜 Join me - Visit once and never go back! ✅

It is very rare that I have the money to take a decent vacation and the best I can do is the occasional Staycation in a motel or hotel. My standards of accommodations are not very high to be honest. If it does not have filth, infestations, or look like a horror movie scene...I am comfortable in most forms of lodging. As someone who once hiked the Appalachian Trail and often had no choice other than to camp in filth...it does not take much to make me happy. I chose the Landing Hotel for the first time ever even though I used to go to the Rivers Casino during the period of my life when I was dealing with a gambling habit that thankfully was overcome before it escalated into a full-blown problem. Gambling is one of the most exciting and finest things anyone could ever do with their free time. That is...IF they are A) able to know when to stop; B) if they are good at it; C) if they do it for fun and do not take it seriously; and D) all of the above. I possess neither of these qualities and was able to cure myself of this habit by becoming a major investor in the stock market. At least when the stock plummets, I still own the shares that were originally bought. If a player has a miserable bout of luck at the casino...they end up owning squat! This was the first time I actually tried out the hotel accommodations, which looked elegant enough to avoid any temptation to resurrect the hollow thrill of fickle luck. I just invested the amount of money in my hotel I could have very well lost, which sometimes happens with gambling. If everyone won every single time...it would not be called, "gambling." LOL Not only did I visit the hotel...but I had walked to this hotel all the way from Guilderland, NY. This is a distance of 10 miles. I have been diagnosed with health problems such as pre-diabetes and extremely high cholesterol as a consequence of runaway bad habits for approximately 12 years! If I do not nip this in the bud soon then I am looking at a future of heart attacks, strokes, full-blown diabetes, and continuing to be obese forever. To be honest, these past two years have been brutal considering that I have been plagued by severe depression and poor self-esteem. I am a semi-celebrity author who has written two books and been featured in three other works of nonfiction literature. Being in the public eye has taken a huge toll on my mental health because I am a magnet for criticism that I often take to heart even if it is unfair and ridiculous. (Even though this is a fair price for such extravagant accommodations, I do not make enough for this to be any more than an occasional luxury.). Walking to the prize of this hotel changed the game. I did not feel like a lazy failure. I was starting the slow process of turning my life around by walking all these miles and soon felt like I was entitled to experience the Landing Hotel for the first time and all of its glory. The hotel is extremely close and within walking distance of countless amenities in Downtown Schenectady! The Landing Hotel is one of those rare and special hotels that greets guests with a warm, chocolate chip cookie, Despite the fact that I am not supposed to eat stuff like that, I figured it was also a reward for hiking ten miles. It is also extremely difficult to reject such delicious treats when thrust in front of my face. I ended up having a really good night's sleep in a room that looked untouched by humankind as though I were the first person to taste it's elegance after a meticulous construction. The room has all the works and if you are ever writing a book...the room is perfect for overcoming Writer's Block because I believe there is also a desk inside. It was wonderful to have a perfect and restful night for the first time in a long while. The only negative part about this experience was having no choice other than to leave the hotel three hours before checkout time at 11:00 PM considering that I had work obligations the following day!

They advertise they are in the “historic district” which is historically inaccurate! The ugliest hotel I’ve ever been to. My son cannot eat here because the restaurants are in the casinos! I’m eating my breakfast with a plastic fork 🙄 Avoid if possible.

Great hotel alongside the Mohawk River in Schenectady NY with Bet Rivers casino attached. Great staff and a really nice updated casino with a good selection of slots and table game.
