The accommodations were decent, and the location is convenient for attending ballgames and visiting nearby restaurants. However, travelers with disabilities should take caution. I repeatedly had to inform the front desk about non-handicapped vehicles occupying reserved accessible parking spots and access lanes. Strangely, those vehicles were often moved within minutes, raising concerns that employees might be using those spots. Additionally, parking is expensive—$30 per day—even for guests with handicap placards, regardless of whether you use the garage.
For those searching "Hotels Near Me" in the Atlanta area, particularly with a focus on proximity to major entertainment and business hubs, the Doubletree Suites by Hilton at The Battery Atlanta offers a compelling option. Located at 2780 Windy Ridge Pkwy SE, Atlanta, GA 30339, USA, this hotel provides all-suite accommodations designed to cater to both leisure and business travelers. The hotel can be reached by phone at (770) 980-1900 or +1 770-980-1900.
The most significant advantage of the Doubletree Suites by Hilton at The Battery Atlanta is its enviable location. It is situated within a short walking distance (typically 3-5 minutes) of Truist Park, home of the Atlanta Braves, and The Battery Atlanta, a dynamic complex filled with restaurants, shops, and entertainment venues. This direct access makes it an ideal choice for baseball fans and those who want to immerse themselves in the lively atmosphere of The Battery without the hassle of driving or finding parking once they arrive. Guests frequently praise this aspect, noting the convenience for attending games or enjoying the nightlife.
Beyond The Battery, the hotel offers easy access to the Cobb Galleria Centre and the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre, making it a favorable choice for convention attendees and those attending performances. Its location off Interstate 75 also provides straightforward connectivity to other major Atlanta attractions, including downtown Atlanta, the Georgia Aquarium, and World of Coca-Cola, though these require a short drive. The hotel's building was constructed in 1985 and underwent a renovation in 2016, aiming to offer a modern and inviting environment.
However, while the location is excellent, some guests have noted concerns about the property's general upkeep and the immediate exterior environment. Reviews mention "small white dog hairs on the floor," "peeling wallpaper in the corners," and an overall feeling that the hotel "requires significant upgrades" despite its renovation. This suggests that while public areas may appear decent, consistency in room condition can vary, impacting the overall guest experience. The hotel is housed in an 8-floor building with 154 rooms.
The Doubletree Suites by Hilton aims to provide a range of services and amenities that enhance guest comfort. A hallmark of the Doubletree brand is the warm chocolate chip cookie offered upon arrival, a popular welcome gesture. The hotel features an on-site restaurant, The Cliff, which serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and two bars/lounges, providing convenient dining and social options. A buffet breakfast is available for a surcharge, and room service is offered during limited hours. However, the breakfast fee can be substantial, ranging from approximately $18.95 to $50.00 for adults and children, depending on the offering.
The hotel offers a seasonal outdoor pool (typically open from May to September, 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM) and a fitness center, allowing guests to relax and maintain their routines. While the fitness center is available, some reviews suggest it has "only the simplest equipment in a small room," indicating it might not cater to intensive workouts. Other conveniences include a 24-hour front desk, a business center, and concierge services. Free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms and public areas, although the quality of the connection has not been universally praised.
A notable service is the complimentary area shuttle, which operates within a 3-mile radius, assisting guests with transportation to nearby attractions beyond walking distance. However, parking is a significant point of concern for many guests. Both covered self-parking and covered valet parking are available, but both incur a substantial daily fee of $30.00 per night, with in/out privileges. This cost, coupled with reports of non-handicapped vehicles occupying reserved accessible parking spots without proper enforcement, raises concerns for travelers with disabilities. The hotel does provide wheelchair-accessible parking and van parking. The hotel also has an ATM, gift shop, and laundry facilities on-site.
In terms of staff, reviews are mixed. While some guests praise the "super friendly staff" and "helpful staff," others, including a Hilton Diamond Member, expressed disappointment over concerns not being adequately addressed, such as room cleanliness issues or the misuse of accessible parking spots. This suggests that while positive interactions occur, consistency in resolving issues might be an area for improvement.
The Doubletree Suites by Hilton at The Battery Atlanta offers 154 spacious suite-style accommodations, designed to provide more living space than standard hotel rooms. These suites typically include a separate living area and bedroom, ensuring ample room for guests to unwind. Room options include King Suites and Two Queen Suites, with some even featuring balconies. Each suite is equipped with a refrigerator, coffee/tea maker, 37-inch flat-screen TV with premium channels, and free Wi-Fi. Premium bedding, down comforters, and hypo-allergenic bedding are provided for comfort. Bathrooms include bathtubs or showers and hairdryers.
While the suite layout is a key feature, customer reviews highlight some areas needing attention. As mentioned, issues like peeling wallpaper, dusty and old furniture, and cleanliness concerns (e.g., dog hairs, dead bugs on walls) have been reported, indicating that the rooms, despite renovations, may not consistently meet the expected standard for a Hilton property. The hotel also offers accessible room types, including King Rooms with Roll-in Showers or Accessible Tubs, and One-Bedroom King Suites with Accessible Tubs, catering to guests with mobility needs. However, the issues with accessible parking noted by a reviewer are a serious consideration for those relying on these facilities.
For business and events, the hotel provides 3,560 square feet of conference space across 6 meeting rooms, including a conference center. These facilities are designed to host various events, from small meetings to larger gatherings, offering a professional setting with necessary amenities. Wedding services are also available.
The Doubletree Suites by Hilton at The Battery Atlanta often leverages its prime location near Truist Park and The Battery Atlanta in its promotional efforts, appealing to sports fans, concert-goers, and those seeking vibrant entertainment. Being a Hilton brand, guests can take advantage of the Hilton Honors loyalty program for points accumulation and redemption, as well as exclusive member rates. Special offers and packages related to events at Truist Park or general seasonal promotions may also be available.
However, prospective guests should be mindful of several critical points. The significant daily parking fee of $30.00 is a considerable added cost, regardless of whether you use the garage or have a handicap placard, which has been a source of dissatisfaction. Travelers with disabilities should also take note of the reported issues with accessible parking spot enforcement and consider contacting the hotel directly to confirm accessibility arrangements. While the hotel is part of the Hilton family, it is important to manage expectations regarding room aesthetics and cleanliness, as some recent reviews indicate that the property may not fully align with the expected Doubletree standard in all areas.
Rates can fluctuate significantly, especially on nights with Braves games, which has led to some guests feeling that the price paid did not align with the quality received. The hotel is not pet-friendly, with a strict "no pets allowed" policy, which is an important consideration for travelers with animal companions. Overall, this hotel is best suited for those who highly prioritize location for visiting The Battery Atlanta and Truist Park, and are prepared for the potentially higher parking costs and a slightly dated room experience that might not always reflect the brand's premium image.

May 23, 2025 · John BartlowThis Hilton property requires significant upgrades. During my stay, I noticed an abundance of small white dog hairs on the floor, which was quite unpleasant. Additionally, the wallpaper was peeling in the corners, contributing to an overall unsatisfactory condition. I cannot recommend this location. The rates were increased on the nights of Braves games, and given the price I paid for one night, I expected a much higher standard of quality. Whenever I raised my concerns with the front desk, I was informed that they would address the matter with someone, but no further action was taken, which is disappointing for a Hilton Diamond Member.
May 05, 2025 · Kevin ShawFor starters!! The pictures on the official website and even other websites are DECIEVING! DO NOT HAVE PICTURES OF A ROOM WITH BEAUITFUL WINDOWS TO VIEW OUTSIDE, SAYING INDOOR BALCONY. The balcony rooms have zero windows. Musky, zero ventilation. Awful, dark and depressing, your only source of lights is lamps. Zero light switchs other than the bathroo... Couldnt get the room below 78 in the middle of the day. Husband brought food and the food smell stayed for 2 hours. Had to ask to switch rooms. The sweet lady behind the counter helped me with that, that is the only reason I rated sevice a two star. Your indoor balcony rooms are advertised incorrectly and deceiving. This hotel has so much water damage. That's adds to the muskiness. The hallways, how? On top of that. The service after 6pm are horrible!! The ladies are so (please tell me what you want then leave me alone). Their attitudes show it. Not even a single smile on when I'm trying to make conversation while I ask about things to do. If you do not prefer this line a work. Please find something else to do. I work with the public and customer service everyday. I shake ALOT of hands daily. I enjoy it, that makes my customers enjoy me.
Mar 23, 2025 · Julia LathanIt appears that maintenance and renovations are not a priority at this Hilton facility and it is very disappointing because this hotel has so much potential. What disappointed me the most was that I stayed here during off season & their whole parking lot was closed and we were forced to use the parking garage and pay. The worst part was that I went to leave with all my luggage in hand the next morning and had to walk the parking garage to the top level because the elevator was out of service. Just one of the many instances of lack of maintenance. The rooms had worn out, stained furniture and well used linens. I also noticed a lot of water damage and a very musty smell. The hotel has an overall depressing vibe and I will not be staying here again.
Apr 05, 2025 · Cher MeroneyWhen I checked in I had to wait about 15 minutes because there was only one person working the front. At first I was impressed with the suite but after that I found disgusting mold on the outside of of shower wall. The bed was so lumpy and uncomfortable that I almost cried when I woke up and got out of the bed because my back hurt so bad. The dresser had stains on the front and the wallpaper had white marks on it. When I told the front desk clerk he just shrugged. I also noticed some sort of stain on the sheets that looked like blood, I didn’t notice this until the last morning of my stay. The comforter on the bed was so worn out that when I held it up in the light I could see that all of the stuffing had worn out. Also when I tried to turn the lamp on bedside the bed it just kept flickering like there was a short in it. Do yourself a favor and find another hotel. This one doesn’t stand up to the Doubletree Hilton namesake.
