For travelers seeking a budget-friendly option within the "Hotels Near Of Me" category, particularly in close proximity to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL), the Econo Lodge Atlanta Airport East offers a practical choice. Located at 5060 Frontage Rd, Forest Park, GA 30297, USA, this hotel aims to provide essential amenities and convenient access for those looking for value and efficiency near the airport.
The Econo Lodge Atlanta Airport East is situated in Forest Park, placing it strategically near Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, typically described as being minutes away, or approximately 2 to 4 miles. This proximity is a significant advantage for air travelers, offering quick access to the airport. The hotel is located on Frontage Road, suggesting easy access from major thoroughfares, contributing to its convenience for those arriving by car. Despite its close proximity to the airport, some guests have noted the area to be "very quiet," allowing for a restful stay.
While its primary draw is airport accessibility, the hotel's location also offers some regional convenience. It's within a reasonable driving distance to local points of interest such as the Atlanta State Farmers' Market, and provides access to major Atlanta attractions like Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Zoo Atlanta, and the World of Coca-Cola, all within a 15-minute drive. The surrounding area in Forest Park may not be a bustling tourist hub, but it provides a functional base for various travel purposes. The exterior corridors, which are common in hotels of this type, offer direct access to rooms. The hotel has undergone renovations, with some sources indicating the last renovation was in 2008, suggesting some areas might reflect an older style.
The Econo Lodge Atlanta Airport East focuses on providing fundamental services and amenities to ensure a straightforward stay. A notable offering is the complimentary hot deluxe continental breakfast, which is designed to provide guests with a good start to their day without an additional cost. The hotel also offers free wired and wireless high-speed internet access in both public areas and guest rooms, allowing guests to stay connected effortlessly. Complimentary local and long-distance calls within the United States are also typically provided.
For airport transit, the hotel offers free airport transportation (shuttle service). It's crucial for guests to verify the current operating hours of this shuttle service directly with the hotel, as some sources indicate specific hours (e.g., 6:00 AM to 11:30 PM and 4:00 PM to 2:00 PM, 7 days a week, or at other times) and availability can fluctuate. A 24-hour front desk is available to assist guests with inquiries or needs at any time. The hotel is pet-friendly, welcoming two pets of any size for an additional fee per pet per night, making it a viable option for travelers with furry companions.
Other amenities include free self-parking on-site, with ample space available for RV/bus/truck parking, which can be a significant benefit for larger vehicles. There's a coffee shop/cafe on-site for quick beverages. For business needs, the hotel features a business center. While some sources mention a seasonal outdoor pool and even a tennis court, it is important for guests to confirm the availability and operational status of these recreational facilities directly with the hotel, as amenities can vary or be seasonal. Daily housekeeping is typically provided, though some guest experiences suggest that service levels may vary.
The Econo Lodge Atlanta Airport East offers 58 guest rooms spread across 2 floors. Room types typically include standard king and queen rooms, with some options for multiple beds. Each room generally comes equipped with basic comforts such as air conditioning, a private bathroom with a bathtub or shower and a hairdryer, a television (often 40-inch TVs with satellite channels and pay movies), a refrigerator, a microwave, and a coffee/tea maker. A desk with a laptop workspace and an iron/ironing board are also standard in most rooms, catering to the needs of both business and leisure travelers.
A unique feature highlighted by one guest is the presence of "blackout" curtains in the rooms, which can be beneficial for guests seeking to maximize their "beauty sleep" or those needing to rest during daylight hours due to flight schedules. Connecting/adjoining rooms are available upon request and subject to availability. The hotel also provides accessible rooms and facilities for guests with disabilities, including wheelchair-accessible parking and features in some rooms. However, it's worth noting that some older information suggests that upper floors might only be accessible by stairs, and there are typically no cribs or infant beds available, which might be a consideration for families with very young children.
Beyond the rooms, the hotel offers a communal breakfast area, and a vending machine for snacks and drinks. A front-desk safe is available for securing valuables. The property generally aims to provide basic, functional accommodation without extensive luxury features, aligning with its budget-friendly positioning.
As part of the Econo Lodge chain (Choice Hotels), the hotel often participates in Choice Privileges loyalty programs, allowing guests to earn points for their stays and potentially access special member rates or discounts. Econo Lodge properties also frequently offer promotions such as "advanced purchase deals" or discounts for specific groups like AAA members, which can make stays even more affordable. The hotel emphasizes its proximity to the airport and complimentary services in its promotional materials.
Guest reviews for the Econo Lodge Atlanta Airport East present a mixed but insightful picture. Many guests appreciate the "very quiet area" and the hotel's kid-friendly environment. The presence of blackout curtains is a noted positive for those needing good rest. Some guests have reported positive experiences with clean rooms and attentive staff, with one reviewer stating that their first room was "good." However, there are significant cautionary notes regarding room cleanliness and condition. Multiple reviews mention "nasty" or "unsanitary" rooms, with specific complaints about dirty chairs, hair in the tub, and even "blood on the wall." This indicates a potential inconsistency in housekeeping standards, leading to a crucial piece of "advice to anyone: check your room before you stay. Make sure you take pictures." This suggests a need for guests to be proactive upon check-in. The experience with the airport shuttle being "very dismissive" of wheelchair-accessible needs and guests having to pay for alternative transportation is also a serious concern regarding accessibility and service reliability. While specific staff members like "Raj" or "Chris" have been praised for being "sweet and easy going" or securing alternative accessible shuttles, the overall consistency of service, particularly for accessibility, appears to be an area for improvement. Therefore, while the Econo Lodge Atlanta Airport East offers a cost-effective solution near the airport with some convenient amenities, potential guests should temper expectations regarding consistent room quality and verify specific service details, especially the airport shuttle, before booking.

Mar 30, 2025 · amelia asberryYour stay here should be a pleasant one. It's a very quiet area but kid friendly. Your rooms will always be tended to if needed or not. If you just need to rest, the curtains are "blackout" so no sun will enter while you get beauty sleep lol.
May 10, 2025 · Dontea SheltonRaj was great. Very helpful. But the girl that was working the front desk this morning has a bad attitude and is always trying to rip people off making up stuff as she goes instead of hotel policy and if you argue with her about it she threatens to cancel your reservation without a refund

Jan 29, 2025 · B PatelI got caught in the snow and was in a rush to get off the road. I saw this was close and the photos online looked good. I knew it wasn’t a 5 star hotel but I expected it to be clean… I always pull the sheets back and take a look anywhere I stay. Well when I did I saw a cake wrapper and crumbs everywhere. The walls and appliances had something spilled all over them. The whole floor was sticky. Not to mention I made eye contact with someone who was standing in front of my window and then they tried to come in my room. The fellow in the office came back to the room to take a look and just wow. I pulled the sheets up to show him the trash and crumbs. He then tells me it’s clean. I point out the crumbs and he throws the sheet back down and says “see it’s clean. Why did you even pull it up?” Then I pointed out the walls and the sticky floor. He offered to give me a different room but his lack of care didn’t convince me that another room would be better. I asked for a refund to go somewhere else and he tells me that the 10 minute window for a refund had passed. Well yeah it passed. You spent that time trying to convince me that nothing was wrong with the room. There are plenty of other reasonably priced and clean hotel rooms up the road! I ended up driving a few minutes up the road and stayed at the LaQuinta Inn for an extra $37.
