Management will not work with your schedule. They will throw you out at 11, even though they are aware you get paid that afternoon. Zero maintenance will be performed on your room no matter how many requests you give them a day_ limit 2, they won't put new flapper in toilet, nor replace the florescent light above sink. The plumbing/electrical is not up to code, key cards barely ever work, drains only fill. Toilet hasn't flushed in months, sometimes sewage comes from toilet onto floor with toilet not being used. Management replies with they are working on it.. same with the light bulb etc..they are working hard on getting it fixed.. Very fast to take you $ but zero effort to meet minium standards. For individuals seeking "Hotels Near Of Me" in the vicinity of the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, the Atlanta Airport Inn / Old Kings Inn, located at 4772 Frontage Rd, Forest Park, GA 30297, USA, is a property that may appear in searches. This hotel aims to provide accommodation near the airport, catering to travelers needing a convenient stopover or a longer stay. However, guest reviews paint a highly contrasting picture of experiences, making an objective and detailed introduction crucial for prospective visitors.
The hotel's location on Frontage Road in Forest Park, GA, positions it strategically for access to the Atlanta Airport. This is a primary draw for many guests, offering convenience for early morning flights or late-night arrivals. The area is typically characterized by other hotels, commercial businesses, and transport routes, common for airport vicinities. The hotel's physical environment, as reported by guests, presents a dichotomy. While some reviews mention a generally "good" atmosphere and a "safe environment for families with children," others are starkly critical, describing rooms as "roached out."
Specific environmental concerns raised include the presence of "roaches" in rooms, indicating significant pest control issues. Furthermore, reports of "sewage comes from toilet onto floor" and non-flushing toilets point to severe plumbing problems that significantly impact the sanitary conditions and habitability of some rooms. This direct contradiction in guest feedback – some feeling "safe and comfortable" in a "great room," while others detail highly unsanitary conditions – suggests a considerable inconsistency in room quality and maintenance across the property. The overall cleanliness and maintenance standards, therefore, appear to be highly variable, necessitating caution for potential guests.
The service aspect at the Atlanta Airport Inn / Old Kings Inn receives both strong praise and severe criticism, creating a complex picture. On the positive side, multiple reviews highlight "very nice management and manager," as well as "compassion and support" received from the hotel staff. Guests have reported feeling "safe and comfortable" and receiving "help with whatever I am needing or going through," indicating that some staff members genuinely strive to provide a supportive and welcoming environment. The presence of a 24-hour front desk is a standard service that generally ensures assistance is available around the clock.
However, the hotel faces profound challenges regarding maintenance and management's responsiveness to reported issues. Guests frequently complain about "zero maintenance" being performed on rooms despite multiple requests. Specific examples include a lack of repair for a "new flapper in toilet," a "florescent light above sink," and a toilet that "hasn't flushed in months." The common response from management, "they are working on it," is perceived by guests as an excuse, with little to no actual effort to meet "minimum standards." This severe lack of functional plumbing and lighting in rooms is a critical service failure. Additionally, "key cards barely ever work," causing significant inconvenience for guests. Another point of contention is management's reported inflexibility with schedules, with guests being "thrown out at 11, even though they are aware you get paid that afternoon," leading to a perception of being "very fast to take your $ but zero effort to meet minimum standards." This inconsistency between the compassionate individual staff and the alleged systemic failures in maintenance and policy application is a key consideration for potential guests.
The Atlanta Airport Inn / Old Kings Inn offers a range of basic amenities typically found in budget-friendly hotels. These features include:
While the list of features appears comprehensive for its class, the pervasive and severe maintenance issues reported by guests mean that these features may not function as expected or be available in a sanitary condition. This makes it difficult to rely on the advertised features for a comfortable stay.
Hotels like the Atlanta Airport Inn / Old Kings Inn often appeal to those searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" with a strong emphasis on affordability, especially given its proximity to a major transportation hub like the Atlanta Airport. Promotional information might highlight its convenience for airport travelers, the presence of a seasonal pool, and basic in-room amenities like microwaves and refrigerators, which are beneficial for longer stays or budget-conscious travelers.
However, potential guests must critically evaluate these promotions against the significant and recurring negative feedback found in reviews. The documented issues with cleanliness (roaches, sewage), non-functional room amenities (toilets, lights, key cards), and management's perceived lack of responsiveness to maintenance requests pose a substantial risk to guest satisfaction. While the hotel might offer competitive rates or claim a "revitalized" status, as some listings suggest (e.g., 'Revitalized in 2020'), the detailed negative reviews suggest these improvements may not be consistently maintained or universally applied to all rooms. The contrasting positive reviews about staff compassion indicate that while some individual experiences might be positive, the underlying operational issues could lead to a highly unsatisfactory stay. For guests prioritizing basic hygiene, functional amenities, and reliable maintenance, a thorough consideration of these severe reported issues is paramount, regardless of the price point.
