Apr 20, 2025 · Dawn StarkeVery bad service. First thing, got a different room location, mine was supposed to be near the pool when I reserved online but instead got one with a downtown view, I don't complain about that cause actually the view was better but should have informed me its was a different one. House keeping never came to the room during our stay. We had to call them to get clean towels, trash picked up and toilet paper (never seen that before). We did see the lady cleaning some rooms down the hall so I don't know if we did something wrong. That was very frustrating. the bathroom had a bad smell. And staff is not very friendly they almost seem sarcastic when you give them a complaint. Parking is $20 a day. First and last time I stay at this hotel.
Jun 06, 2018 · Gustavo EThe front staff was great during my stay. Quentin (?) was very nice and pleasant during my check-in. I think the hotel suffers with the attitude of other staff members. The person who was working at the Express Cafe shop they had in the lobby had THE worst attitude. She was on her phone when I was trying to buy items and seemed to not want to be at work. That immediately gave me a different vibe to the hotel. The cleaning staff could do better in cleaning the room, as I didn’t feel it was really clean throughout my stay. Overall, I think the hotel is good but would benefit deeply from a more attentive cleaning staff.
Jul 29, 2019 · Giovanni PulidoOur stay was 07/27-07/29/2018, it was a last minute reservation and we were very lucky to have been able to book a room. The hotel was busy, but clean and nice. We never heard other guests like in other hotels. Everyone was very nice, courteous and helpful. The evening Manager Michael was very nice and went out of his way to make sure our stay was wonderful. Housekeeping was up to par, our room was small, but clean and comfortable. Anything we asked of the hotel staff we received. The drinks in the bar were reasonably priced and the Tiki Punch was fabulous! The breakfast buffet was also very good, the wait staff was very attentive. We have stayed here many, many times for a variety of reason and we are always pleased. While the hotel might be old and dated, the staff is always very nice, friendly and on the ball. We will stay again, soon!
Jul 30, 2018 · HILDRA REPPENThe hotel stay was excellent! The lobby was absolutely gorgeous and all the staff super attentive. Very clean and neat room. I came to visit a friend who was buried in San Antonio 5 years ago. Not exactly a thrilling vacation. So the really nice room and nice people was a plus. But after a 3 hour drive home i realized i left my most valuable jewelry in the room. It took a few phone calls but the staff had my items and were happy to help. I was crying so hard. Thank you so much El Tropicano. Would recommended again and again!!
