We went through a 3rd party booking for a timeshare presentation. This whole process was very disorganized. We checked in for the timeshare presentation at one location. The women gave us paperwork to fill out, a second couple walked in to check in also. She handed them paperwork also. She could not get the printer to work. She could not get computer to work and forgot to give us our parking pass. She kept telling us that we needed to check in down the street for our room. When we were ready to leave that location I had to say to the lady at the desk, "Please excuse my ignorance, but you keep saying 'down the street', I have never been to this location before so I do not know where down the street your talking about is located." She explained where to go to check in for room, so we got back into car drove down the street realized we did not have our parking pass, drove back down the road to get it, drove back up the road to check in. Then the gentleman that checked us in with room keys had given us terrible instructions on where room was located and where to park and his attitude was terrible when I asked him to explain it again. It was like such an imposition for him to slow down and explain it again. He was making negative remarks about other workers right in front of us. Not proper at all. Talk to employee on the side, don't embarrass that person and the business you work for. The unprofessionalism does reflect on the business and does not look good. We drove right back to where we started, parked, found room and I will not go back to this location again. The bed was small, the rug was so stained we would not walk on floor without having shoes on. The toilet bowl was not secured, the toilet paper holder was about 12 inches off the ground, the bathroom sink was so low you had to bend over to wash hands, the room felt like it was designed for handicapped individuals, but it was not. The presentation was good, but everything else needs a lot of work. At the end someone mentioned to us that we could have been moved to an updated room if we complained. We should not have to complain in order for that to happen. There are plenty of other timeshare locations out there. Try a different one.
Howdy, fellow Tennesseans! When the call of the Great Smoky Mountains beckons, many of us dream of a comfortable and convenient base for our Gatlinburg adventures. If you’re looking for something more than a typical hotel room, perhaps with the space and amenities of home, you might have heard of or considered Gatlinburg Town Square by Exploria Resorts. This property aims to offer a resort experience right in the heart of our beloved mountain town.
Gatlinburg Town Square is part of the Exploria Resorts family, known for providing condominium-style accommodations that often include features like full kitchens and separate living areas, aiming to give guests more space and flexibility than a standard hotel room. It's designed for longer stays, family vacations, or for those who simply appreciate the added comforts of a home-away-from-home setting. While it might be an older property, as some reviews suggest, it strives to offer a complete vacation experience with a range of on-site amenities.
It's worth noting that, like many resort properties, Gatlinburg Town Square also operates within a timeshare framework. While this can sometimes be associated with sales presentations, many guests simply book rooms for a standard stay through various booking channels. We're here to provide you with a factual overview, exploring its prime location, the array of services and features it boasts, and what you can generally expect from a stay at this Gatlinburg resort. Let’s dive in and see if Gatlinburg Town Square is the right fit for your next Smoky Mountain escape.
Gatlinburg Town Square by Exploria Resorts is exceptionally well-situated at 515 Airport Rd, Gatlinburg, TN 37738, USA. This address places it on what is also known as the Historic Nature Trail, a central location that offers remarkable convenience for exploring all that Gatlinburg has to offer.
The most significant advantage of this resort's location is its superb walkability to downtown Gatlinburg. It's just a 5-minute walk to the Gatlinburg Convention Center, making it an ideal choice for conference attendees or those wanting to be steps away from major events. Many popular attractions are also within a comfortable stroll: the Gatlinburg Space Needle is only about an 8-minute walk, and Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies is roughly a 16-minute walk away. This means you can easily access the Parkway with its countless shops, restaurants, distilleries, and entertainment venues without needing to constantly drive or search for parking. While the walk back to the resort might involve "a fairly good hill," as one reviewer noted, the overall convenience of being so close to the action is a major plus.
For those planning to explore the natural beauty of the area, the entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park is less than a mile away (approximately a 15-minute walk or a very short drive), making it incredibly convenient for hikers and nature enthusiasts. The resort also offers free self-parking on site, which is a valuable amenity in busy Gatlinburg. However, it's important to note that parking for "big vehicles" can be "very limited" and "cramped," as highlighted by a guest, with only about 10 dedicated spots. For guests with mobility issues, the resort is generally described as "handicapped accessible" with features like elevators and well-lit paths. However, one review mentioned that some "tiles in the courtyard are uneven and many of them move," which is a point to be aware of for those with limited mobility. Overall, the location truly positions guests to experience the best of Gatlinburg on foot.

For us Tennesseans planning a getaway to Gatlinburg, finding special offers for a resort stay can make all the difference. Gatlinburg Town Square by Exploria Resorts, being part of a larger resort network, often features various promotions and packages.
One common way to access special rates at Gatlinburg Town Square is through vacation ownership or timeshare presentations. Guests can sometimes book highly discounted stays, typically 3 or 4 nights in a 1- or 2-bedroom apartment, in exchange for attending a 120-minute vacation ownership sales presentation. These packages can be extremely cost-effective, with prices as low as $149 for a multi-night stay, but they come with specific eligibility requirements (e.g., age, combined annual income, relationship status) and the obligation to attend the presentation. Websites like StayPromo frequently list these types of offers.
Beyond timeshare-related deals, you can often find standard discounted rates through major online travel agencies like Kayak, Expedia, and Hotels.com. These sites may offer competitive nightly rates, especially during off-peak seasons (like February, which is noted as the low season for best prices). Exploria Resorts also runs various promotions directly on their website, which can include "Best Rate Guaranteed" offers for direct bookings or special packages that might bundle accommodations with area attractions or dining credits.
It’s always a good idea to check the official Exploria Resorts website for Gatlinburg Town Square directly, as well as reputable booking platforms, to compare prices and find any available seasonal promotions. While the resort's official site might not always clearly list public promotions in a dedicated section, exploring different booking dates and unit types can reveal varying rates. Keep an eye out for terms like "Standard Room," "Queen Room," "King Room," and multi-bedroom apartments, as prices will vary significantly based on the size and amenities of the unit you choose.

For us Tennesseans, the allure of Gatlinburg is undeniable, offering a perfect blend of mountain beauty and exciting attractions. When planning a trip, having a comfortable, spacious base can truly elevate the experience. Gatlinburg Town Square by Exploria Resorts, despite some mixed feedback, offers several compelling reasons why it can be a suitable choice for locals, particularly those seeking a home-like atmosphere during their Smoky Mountain getaway.
One of the biggest draws for locals is the condominium-style units. Having a full kitchen, separate living areas, and often in-unit washers and dryers, provides a level of comfort and convenience that standard hotel rooms simply can't match. For families, this means the ability to prepare meals, save on dining out, and have ample space to spread out after a day of exploring. Being able to do laundry on-site is a huge plus, especially after outdoor adventures in the national park. These features are highly valued by those planning a longer stay or traveling with children.
The location is another significant advantage. Situated within easy walking distance of the Gatlinburg Convention Center and the bustling Parkway, you can leave your car parked (for free!) and explore most of downtown Gatlinburg on foot. While the uphill walk back to the resort might be a bit of a workout after a day of fun, the convenience of being so close to everything — from shops and restaurants to the Space Needle and the National Park entrance — is invaluable. For many Tennesseans who know Gatlinburg well, avoiding downtown traffic and parking hassles is a top priority.
The on-site amenities also contribute to its suitability for locals. The availability of both an indoor and outdoor pool, along with hot tubs, means there’s always an opportunity for a refreshing swim or a relaxing soak, no matter the weather. The added family-friendly features like a children's pool, playground, basketball courts, and a game room ensure there's plenty to keep everyone entertained without even leaving the resort.
While some reviews highlight areas that could use improvement, particularly regarding maintenance and initial check-in experiences, many guests still report clean rooms and enjoyable stays, often praising the value and spaciousness of the units. For locals who are perhaps more accustomed to the "mountain time" pace and can appreciate an older property that focuses on practical amenities, Gatlinburg Town Square by Exploria Resorts can be a comfortable and convenient home base.
Ultimately, for Tennesseans looking for a condominium-style stay in Gatlinburg with a great location, valuable amenities like full kitchens and pools, and the flexibility that comes with more space, Gatlinburg Town Square is certainly worth considering for your next Smoky Mountain adventure. Just be sure to set realistic expectations for an established property and communicate any specific needs upon booking to ensure a smooth and enjoyable visit.

May 04, 2025 · Audra GhiottoCleaning is not their strong point. There was blood splattered all over the stove when we checked in. You could also tell the floors weren't well swept. We checked in about 7pm, and i overheard a family whose unit was still not ready at that time! Very limited parking for big vehicles on site (literally 10 spots), and very cramped and hard to maneuver in the lot. If you have someone with mobility issues in your group, be careful as the tiles in the courtyard are uneven and many of them move when you step on them. Gas firepit in the courtyard doesn't want to light on its own, so take a lighter and piece of paper with you. These are older buildings and you can tell they just tried to put lipstick on the pig because the painting and drywall are horrible quality. The dishwasher in our unit had a rack with rusted and broken out wires. Glad we didn't get pressured for a sales pitch, but I heard from another guest the sales office was closed that week. As for location, it is close enough to downtown to walk, though back to the resort is a fairly good hill. Plenty of options for food and drink downtown. The only advice I would offer if you do tastings of booze is to only buy it if you really love it because there are so many different kinds. You could easily end up with so much your husband claims he'll need a tanker endorsement for the drive home! LOL
Apr 13, 2025 · Sheri FMe and my new husband came in last night after our wedding to celebrate our honeymoon! We drove four hours from the Nashville area and got in around 3 AM. When we went to check in Jen at the front desk was absolutely amazing! She saw that we were on her honeymoon and helped us get a lovely room with a beautiful view of the creek that flows right behind the resort and a wonderful room for me and my new husband to enjoy for the week! we couldn’t have asked for a better welcome to Gatlinburg after our long fun night! Can’t wait to spend the rest of the week here! Thank you, Jen 💕!
Mar 30, 2025 · Chloe RogersOverall the rooms are very clean and the location is fantastic. This hotel doesn't have a lot of amenities for children aside from an indoor and outdoor pool but for the value and the location this hotel is good. The trolly stop is right out front and the staff are pleasant.
Mar 24, 2025 · Michelle RankineWouldn’t come here again, I visit Gatlinburg around 5 times a year and this place has been the worst so far. We had late check in at 4pm (which is bad enough) and rooms still were not ready. Front desk was not helpful at all. When asked kindly about our rooms we were told. “We don’t know, there’s not an estimated time til your room is ready” like okay? So we just wait here for how long? Maybe 5 other families checked in quickly and we were still waiting outside. Outdated property and very unhelpful staff. Check in was confusing since you need to go between two separate locations to check in and the other where you actually stay. Horrible. Don’t book if you have other options. Cherry on top was the fact it was 74 degrees and sunny but the pool at one location looked like this 😂🤩
