Stopped here for two days in a recent trip to Boston. Hotel was clean but needs some updating. Location was on an industrial estate but convenient for the highway, the MBTA and the local shopping mall. Breakfast was decent and overall good value for money
For individuals and families exploring "Hotels Near Of Me" options in the Braintree, Massachusetts area, the Hampton Inn Boston/Braintree, located at 215 Wood Rd, Braintree, MA 02184, USA, presents itself as a common choice. As part of the globally recognized Hilton brand, Hampton Inn properties are generally known for their consistent quality, complimentary amenities, and focus on guest satisfaction. This particular location serves as a strategic base for travelers visiting Boston, the South Shore, or conducting business in the area.
The Hampton Inn Boston/Braintree is situated in a commercial and industrial area of Braintree, which offers both convenience and some potential drawbacks regarding the immediate surroundings. Its location is highly convenient for vehicular travel, being just off major highways such as I-93 (Route 3) and Route 128 (I-95), providing straightforward access to downtown Boston (approximately 10-15 miles north) and Logan International Airport (around 10 miles). This accessibility makes it appealing for business travelers, those flying into Boston, and families on road trips.
The hotel is also remarkably close to the expansive South Shore Plaza, one of New England's largest shopping malls (within a short drive or an estimated 2 miles), and entertainment venues like F1 Boston (a 4-minute walk or 0.4 km). This proximity to dining and retail options enhances its appeal for leisure travelers. Furthermore, a complimentary shuttle service operates within a 4-mile radius, providing convenient transportation to the MBTA Quincy Adams T station, Logan Express Braintree, and South Shore Plaza, facilitating travel into Boston without a car.
However, the hotel's placement within an "industrial estate" or business district, as noted by guests, can lead to a less scenic environment compared to more picturesque locations. One review specifically mentioned being "next to a refining factory which made very loud noise on Friday evening until 10 pm ish and they started again 7:30 am on a Saturday," indicating potential noise disturbances that could impact sensitive sleepers. While the lobby and common areas have seen renovations, some guest feedback suggests that certain aspects of the hotel, particularly rooms, could benefit from further updating to match modern standards. The exterior and parking lot maintenance, especially during inclement weather, have also been cited as areas needing attention, specifically regarding proper salting and clearing for accessibility.
The Hampton Inn Boston/Braintree offers a range of signature Hampton Inn amenities, generally aimed at providing a comfortable and value-driven stay. These include:
However, the reliability and execution of these services appear to vary, as highlighted by some guest experiences. Issues reported include electronic key failures upon check-in, maintenance problems like slow-draining tubs, noisy radiators, poorly fitted room doors allowing hallway light to enter, and a general impression that the hotel "needs some updating" despite recent renovations. Staff interactions, while sometimes praised for being helpful, have also been described as rude or unresponsive in other instances, indicating a lack of consistent service quality.
The Hampton Inn Boston/Braintree aims to stand out through its brand promise of value and convenience. Its primary features include:
However, a critical review highlights significant operational challenges that detract from these features. Issues like inadequate handicap parking maintenance (pure ice in a spot), lack of essential supplies like washcloths, and reported rudeness from staff members indicate inconsistencies in hotel management and service delivery. These experiences suggest that while the hotel offers desirable amenities on paper, the execution and maintenance standards may not always meet guest expectations, particularly those accustomed to a high level of service from the Hampton Inn brand.
As a Hampton Inn property, the hotel participates in Hilton's global promotional campaigns, offering seasonal discounts, package deals, and benefits through the Hilton Honors loyalty program. Guests are encouraged to check the official Hilton website or call the hotel directly at (781) 380-3300 or +1 781-380-3300 for the latest offers, rates, and to confirm specific room features and accessibility needs. The hotel typically promotes its free hot breakfast, free Wi-Fi, indoor pool, and convenient location.
For potential guests searching "Hotels Near Of Me" in Braintree:
In conclusion, the Hampton Inn Boston/Braintree offers a practical and amenity-rich option for travelers seeking accommodation in the Braintree area with good access to Boston. While it provides the expected comforts and conveniences of the Hampton Inn brand, potential guests should be aware of reported inconsistencies in maintenance and service and consider verifying specific needs directly with the hotel to ensure a satisfactory stay.

Apr 22, 2025 · Mike NorrisEverything could improve. I stay at Hampton Inns at least twice a month for business. I stayed at this location for three days for the long weekend but I probably should’ve gone down the road to the Best Western. Upon arrival, there is only ONE handicap parking spot in the front. ONE! How is this acceptable. There were a few more but they’re at the rear of the building and it doesn’t help anyone that NEEDS handicap parking!!!!! I was rudely asked if I needed help by male receptionist. I checked in online via the Hilton App and got assigned room 410. After lugging my things upstairs, my electronic key didn’t work because the room was occupied!!!! I was then reassigned to room 406. The room had smears of lotion or sticky matter on the nightstand. The tub took a very long time to drain after a quick shower. It felt gross because while showering you’re standing in stagnant dirty water. The radiator in the room made a whistling noise 24/7 when it was not loudly blowing air out causing lack of sleep. The room door was poorly put together so the hallway light was shining in at night. After an awful night I was woken up to loud banging next door. The front desk told me there’s leaks upstairs. Breakfast is awful because no one wants to work and the staff is RUDE! I watched a patron going to the back kitchen room to politely ask for syrup for the waffle station and the staff member sucked her teeth and slowly came out to put more syrup in the bin. They also ran out of forks and she snapped when I asked if there were anymore forks. We were all eating our waffles with spoons and hoping for the best. I requested washcloths and housekeeping came to tell me there were no more. What do you mean?! The parking lot was not cleaned or salted properly. The ONE handicap parking spot was pure ice. How does a wheelchair get through this or someone with an unsteady gait using a walking device? I’m sure the ADA would love to check out this establishment. The worse Hampton Inn I’ve ever stayed at and never will I consider this specific location. Poorly run location!!!
Feb 18, 2025 · Angie Peckthe hotel was clean and comfortable, though hasn't been renovated in a while (but still quite nice). The location was a bit industrial, but was quiet inside. Breakfast was quite good.
Apr 07, 2025 · Howard KayeOverall enjoyed my stay at this Hampton Inn. A nice to have item, a charging station for electric vehicle. Not sure if hotels are doing this yet. Had coffee and hot chocolate at the entrance, and cookies at night. Beverages were hot, and cookies tasted great! It snowed the first day and the driveways stayed clean and not slippery when driving. Breakfast was good. I always enjoy their waffles. One concern was the heating/cooling unit it the room. It ran for about 90 seconds turned off and turned on again in ~60 seconds. The room was hot when we arrived so I turned it off until the room cooled down, below 70. On the second day about 4 am, the unit would run even though it was off. It would do the same thing by turning on and off in short increments.
Dec 23, 2024 · Andrew HudsonHotel booked thru work. Easily accessible to highway & Braintree mall. Not exactly walkable though. Fine for a place to sleep, but maybe not where you go for a special occasion away. Beds and bathrooms were clean, but I wasn't sure I wanted to walk on the carpet barefoot. Some of the wallpaper was held up with visible staples. Overall facility has seen better days. The only thing I really didn't care for: The smell of pool, or maybe whatever is cooking in the lot next door, permeates all the hallways. One way the staff went above and beyond was finding us a fan for our room.
