My experience at this hotel was not positive and it will not be a priority location for me to stay in the future. The first morning I turned on the shower, stepped out of the room and when I returned noticed that the shower head was turned to spray out of the tub and the entire bathroom was flooded. I was in a run so I threw down towels, got dressed and left. When I returned, my room had not been cleaned and since it was "...after housekeeping was gone, there was no option to clean my room..." I was not offered anything to make up for the hotels oversite. Just I can give you clean towels... No discounts, (but I was charged an amenity fee), no option to stay in a cleaned room. I don't recommend staying here unless absolutely necessary, the hotel does not have sufficient staffing to properly attend to their rooms and do nothing to accommodate guests when their failures inconveniences their guest.
For local users exploring options on platforms like "Hotels Near Of Me," the Heritage Hotel - Lancaster, situated at 500 Centerville Rd, Lancaster, PA 17601, USA, presents itself as a notable lodging choice in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. With contact numbers (800) 223-8963 or +1 800-223-8963, this hotel is often positioned as a more upscale or full-service option compared to budget-friendly alternatives, aiming to provide a comprehensive and enjoyable experience for both leisure and business travelers. However, recent customer feedback reveals a highly polarized experience, offering both strong positives and significant concerns that potential guests must carefully consider.
The immediate environment around the hotel is characteristic of a suburban commercial area, likely featuring well-maintained grounds, ample parking, and a sense of calm despite its proximity to main roads. The hotel itself is often perceived as a local landmark, contributing to its established presence. Internally, the environment receives conflicting descriptions. One review paints a picture of a welcoming and well-maintained interior, with "super clean and well stocked" rooms and a lobby that feels "like home." Conversely, another review details a highly negative experience, including a flooded bathroom and an uncleaned room, suggesting inconsistencies in maintenance and service standards, which can severely impact the perceived quality of the environment.
However, the negative review directly challenges the effective delivery of some fundamental services, particularly housekeeping. The report of a flooded bathroom and a subsequent failure to clean the room ("my room had not been cleaned and since it was '...after housekeeping was gone, there was no option to clean my room...'") indicates significant lapses in service management and responsiveness, particularly concerning guest inconveniences. The lack of compensation or even an offer of an alternative clean room further amplifies this concern, directly impacting the guest's perception of "properly attend to their rooms."
However, the conflicting customer feedback highlights a critical inconsistency in the delivery of these features. While some guests experience "super clean" rooms and exceptional staff, others encounter significant service failures, such as unaddressed room issues and a perceived lack of accountability from management. The mention of being charged an "amenity fee" without receiving satisfactory service for core issues further frustrates guests and detracts from the value proposition. This suggests that while the infrastructure and potential for excellent service are present, the execution can be inconsistent, potentially due to staffing issues ("does not have sufficient staffing to properly attend to their rooms").
One review provides glowing praise, stating, "I love love love this place." Key positives highlighted include an "awesome" restaurant, "amazing" and "professional" staff who were particularly helpful with children ("helped me with their food and drinks"), "super clean and well stocked" rooms, and the availability of "fresh coffee out front 24 hours a day." This review paints a picture of a hotel that delivers on its promise of comfort, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere that "felt like home."
Conversely, another review describes a highly negative experience that significantly undercuts these positives. The core issue was a functional failure—a shower head spraying out of the tub and flooding the bathroom. More critically, the hotel's response to this problem was severely lacking. The guest reported that their "room had not been cleaned" when they returned, and they were informed that "there was no option to clean my room" because "housekeeping was gone." This highlights a significant staffing or operational oversight. Furthermore, the hotel offered "No discounts" or "option to stay in a cleaned room" to compensate for the inconvenience, only "clean towels," despite an "amenity fee" being charged. The reviewer concludes by stating they "don't recommend staying here unless absolutely necessary," citing insufficient staffing and a failure to accommodate guests when the hotel is at fault.
In conclusion, for local users searching on "Hotels Near Of Me," the Heritage Hotel - Lancaster, located at 500 Centerville Rd, Lancaster, PA 17601, presents itself with the potential for an excellent, full-service experience, particularly regarding its dining and overall staff friendliness, as evidenced by positive reviews. However, prospective guests must be aware of the serious operational and service recovery issues highlighted in negative feedback. These include potential failures in room maintenance (like leaking showers), a lack of adequate housekeeping coverage, and a perceived unwillingness to appropriately compensate or accommodate guests for significant hotel-induced inconveniences. The conflicting reviews suggest a highly variable guest experience, and potential visitors should consider this variability when making their booking decision.

The restaurant is awesome the staff was amazing with my twins they helped me with their food and drinks, the rooms are super clean and well stocked. Always have fresh coffee out front 24 hours a day. The front desk staff are the best and most professional I've seen in a long time. This place felt like home.
Oct 29, 2024 · Crystal Bishop WigginsGps took us to the back of the hotel because of renovations so walking the whole building in the snow and cold wasn't ideal. Nevertheless it was a comfy stay not too bad at all. Nothing major to complain about would go back again !!
Jan 25, 2025 · DmackthelenderOur bed was awesome, and so were the fluffy pillows! The rooms are dated but super clean and quiet. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We had the breakfast buffet, and the food was delicious! There was lots of variety, and it was a very clean buffet. We loved the fish and waterfall!
Aug 20, 2024 · Marsha Leonard3 star experience, good enough to lay my head while I need a place close to Sight & Sound Theatre. I walked in to check in on 10/7/24 at 10:19pm. The entrance to the main lobby smells just as old & stuffy as it looks. It’s only one check in window, & one staff member to check in guests. However, The lady @ the front desk was nice & gave service w/ a smile I had 2 ppl in front of me, but she was able to accommodate them w/ in 4 min & check me in. Guests have 24 hr access to the gym. The mattress are old, worn out, & dip all the way down. They placed good quality mattress covers on top of them as if it’s going to help. They need to expeditiously order new mattresses. You can’t keep using the same ones after so many years of wear & tear! The thermostats are old and outdated. You can’t set it to specific temperature. Just cool or warm : low, medium, and high. The unit also rattles a lot. I was in 336, I slept in & enjoyed the breakfast buffet which is reasonably priced w/discount for guests on Sunday & one days they expect a bus full of guests. The staff serving breakfast was really sweet & attentive. I came back up from breakfast around 11AM, flipped my card to let housekeeping know I needed service. I also personally told housekeeping I needed my room done. They just left the card on my door since 11AM and didn’t do anything. I had to get front desk to bring up fresh sheets, towels, etc to change over my own room.
