This review of the Hilton Garden Inn in Asheville is written in the hopes it gets read before you choose to book this hotel. While there are number positive reviews please take the time to research a little further. It’s not how a business responds to positive experiences but how they respond when things don’t go as planned. This was the last stop after an otherwise perfect trip visiting family , attending high school and college track meets in various cities along the way. All hotels were perfect up to and after this location. Upon learning our reservation wasn’t going to be honored with the room type we had purchased (I have to point out how we were then treated). It was not mentioned upon arrival, when we reached the room given I called the front desk to no avail. I then approached the front desk to show my reservation details. The response was pretty much they couldn’t have cared less and offered no help. I should also mention there wasn’t a sole to be found in the lobby, or at the desk for quite some time when we came to check in. In fact other than two male employees of the Hilton Garden we saw no one else, guest or other wise. I offered to accept the room given as we were tired from a long days journey but I wanted the price to reflect the lesser priced room we were given. Again shoulder shrugs, and no deal. Stated we booked through Expedia even though we paid directly to the hotel on arrival. Was I frustrated absolutely. I asked to speak to a manager. Not available. Returning to my room defeated I saw someone at the end of the hall on the phone. I asked if he was the manager, he said yes. After briefly explaining my situation he pretty much told me I was being rude and I needed to leave the hotel immediately. I proceeded to enter my room and my husband and myself did as we were asked. I need to point out my husband was in the room the whole time and never spoke to either of the staff as we left. This is important because during conversations with Hilton honors I was told the “female”manager stated I was disturbing other guests and my husband even had to “calm me down” several times. Never happened. I should also point out they stated they had video evidence of the incident and I was welcome to come back to the hotel and view it. Seems odd that they would want me to come back there as I was such a threat previously. Or the police werent summoned in the first place. We went a block away to another Hilton property a Hampton which I very highly recommend. We got the same room I originally booked for $30 less! Excellent stay no incidents. This isn’t about Hilton whom we are honors members of. We always have had great experiences . The reason I ask you to check out other reviews as I did so myself I discovered others wrote of similar experiences, lying about facts, videos evidence, and rude customer service. There is a pattern here. I have never been asked to leave a hotel before. I should also point out they were asked by Expedia, and Hilton honors to refund our stay. They refused. Thankfully my credit card company took care of it after they did in fact charge us. So I ask you is this the type of place you want to give your money to? The Hampton one street over is lovely. I’ve included a screen shot of the room they said was not available to me that I originally purchased yet was still available for booking at 5 pm that day. You will also notice I had to give them one star to post my review. I would have preferred not to.

May 17, 2025 · Kim SwedlundAbsolutely the best place to stay in the Asheville area! The rates are super reasonable. There is a full bar and restaurant on site with great food. The staff is exceptional. Renee at the bar remembers everyone’s name and is at the top of her game when it comes to making drinks! If you are a regular traveler to this area, you probably won’t stay anywhere else after staying here. In a town with a hundred great places to eat and drink, I still choose the Hilton Garden Inn South every time.
May 22, 2025 · Benjamin SeibertStayed at this location the night of a storm in the area. The fan in our bathroom was making a horrible clanking noise all night despite not being on and kept us up for the majority of the night. On top of this, the hotel lost power during the night so we did not have our wakeup call in the morning and were extremely late getting checked out. Not sure why this hotel does not have a generator. We spoke with the front desk who said they would comp our night but since we did not book directly through them, they later said there is nothing they can do. Extremely disappointing customer service.
Apr 03, 2025 · Alex CalaVery nice hotel. Good location across from the outlets. Nicely updated rooms. Bathroom is a touch small but very functional. I like having a Keurig -type coffee machine in the room. Lots of outlets and storage.
Mar 25, 2025 · Annie GKudos to the staff at this hotel. They have been beyond courteous and welcoming to my family. The atmosphere is so perfect. The decor is beautiful. The terrace area is top notch 👌 the housekeeping is on point always. All of the staff go above and beyond to help you. (Even as far as retrieving my son's airplane that he flew over their fence) 😂 we will always choose this location. Everyone one their deserves raises in my opinion. Thank y'all so much for the hospitality you have shown.
