Hilton Garden Inn Secaucus/Meadowlands

This hotel is staffed by very friendly people, but it is in a fairly hard to get to location. Add an extra 15 minutes to your plans on leaving or going to ensure you can get where you need to be on time. Rooms are a bit dated, lobby and amenities are plesantly updated. Quiet even with a bus load of teens staying at the property!

Definitely the worst Hilton I’ve ever stayed at. The room was dark, the lighting in the room was horrible, the carpet in the room was dirty it had a slimy feeling to it. The water in the shower fluctuated from cold to extremely hot many times while showering. The ac/heating unit in the room was so loud we had to shut it off so we could hear the tv. The bed was hard and the pillows were flat. The housekeeper didn’t speak any English so when I brought her my 2 dirty towels and ask for more she only gave me 1. So I tried to tell her I needed 2 because I gave her 2 and she started to raise her voice at me and talking fast in Spanish. I had to call the front desk because she flat out refused to give me another towel. 2 people in a room 2 towels are needed. The main reason I booked the hotel was for the pool and hot tub and I called and verified that they were open and when we got there they had them closed for 5days. Super big disappointment. Their breakfast buffet that they charged $15.95 for was the same exact food that other hotels include in their free breakfasts. Now on the bright side the front desk staff was super nice and helpful day shift and night shift. There was plenty of parking and it was only a 20min drive into NYC.

This is a great place to take the family for a quick getaway as the American Dream Mall is 6 mins away. There are many activities available there. The only thing that annoyed me was the shower situation. The entire bathroom gets soaked because there is just a light shower curtain, no way to keep the water in the shower. So anyone showering after you will NOT be happy.

We had to book somewhere last minute and I'm so grateful we chose this place! The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. We arrived early the first day and they allowed us to check in super early (like 8 am!) which was extremely helpful as we were so tired with no extra cost. The walk to the bus stop to get into NYC was extremely close and convenient. The room and pool was also nice. The only thing that was disappointing was that the breakfast was not complimentary.

I’ve stayed in the hotel two times, this last one I felt more that the communication with the desk was somewhat careless, I asked someone to help me with the heat and didn’t show up, it was a minor thing that later I fixed, but I would have appreciated have someone to helped cuz I had a cold night. Another thing is the gym poor thing only have balls no Dumbbells. I appreciate the people who works in this hotel. At the end is management who has to look for investments in the property because yes it quite old.
