1 Star — NOT DESERVING OF ANY STARS…. Uninhabitable, Unhealthy, and Unsafe: A Complete Health Hazard We were transferred to the Ramada by Wyndham North Bergen, NJ after another nearby Ramada location overbooked by 13 rooms. I am currently undergoing cancer treatment in New York City, and until our apartment becomes available, we have been staying in hotels. With no viable option, we agreed to be moved to this property - a decision we now deeply regret. Upon arrival, we discovered that the hotel was under active construction, which we were not informed of in advance. We were assigned a room on the 10th floor. It appeared to be only partially renovated (about 75% complete) - missing baseboards, exposed fixtures - but most concerning was the complete lack of hot water. We ran the water for over 30 minutes as instructed by the front desk, but it remained ice cold. Only after a manager visited the room did we learn that the entire 10th floor had no hot water. So why were we placed there to begin with? We were then moved to the 11th floor. While there was finally hot water, the television did not function - though given the circumstances, we prioritized hot water. The following morning, we were informed that the 10th and 11th floors needed to be evacuated due to safety concerns from ongoing construction. We were moved again, this time to the 5th floor — and that's where things took an alarming turn. The room on the 5th floor was completely unacceptable. It resembled something from a 1960s roadside motel - stained sheets, no comforter, a single thin blanket, peeling wallpaper, mold throughout the bathroom, exposed wiring, holes in the walls (some patched but not sanded or painted), a fire-damaged microwave, and a leaking ceiling with a bucket catching water. The towels were dirty and thin. The room was not only unsanitary but actively hazardous. But the worst was yet to come. We were visited by rats. Not one, but three, that we visibly saw — one ran under the door, another along the wall, and a third down the drapes. I screamed in terror. I immediately reported the issue to Ramada Corporate, filed a complaint with the New Jersey Department of Health and Food Protection, and with the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs. I also addressed this with the hotel's GM and front desk. Shockingly, the front desk employee admitted that the rat infestation has been an issue for six months. He even offered a "tip" — to stuff towels in the holes under the TV and behind the nightstand, as he does when staying in the building. We requested rodent spray or peppermint oil - anything to protect our belongings while we gathered them to leave - and were instead given Shout laundry stain remover. When we suggested purchasing mint-based deterrents from Target (2 miles away), we were told it wasn't in stock. I went myself and found it immediately - within 10 minutes. When I returned to show the manager, I was met with silence. No apology. No concern. When we used the spray, more rats began coming out of the air vents. This was horrifying and traumatic. To summarize: * We were misled and placed in rooms without hot water. * We were moved multiple times due to unsafe conditions. * We were ultimately placed in a room that was unsanitary, outdated, and infested with rats. * Despite promises, we never received a credit or refund - and my credit card continues to be charged. * The property is under major construction, with elevator outages, prolonged water shut-offs, and no transparency to guests. * We were exposed to conditions that are not only unacceptable but dangerous to human health, especially someone who is immunocompromised like myself. This property should not be operating in its current state. I urge anyone considering staying here - especially families, individuals with health conditions, or anyone expecting even basic safety and hygiene - to look elsewhere. We are pursuing further action with local health authorities and Ramada/Wyndham Corporate. Shame on Ramada for allowing this property to represent your brand.

After reading the reviews, I was terrified of staying at this hotel. But actually, it was very good. Of course I chose to stay in Jersey to save money, but considering we were in NJ, the location was good. About the rooms, they were great. All I needed: comfortable beds, microwave and a clean bathroom. The breakfast wasn’t very good, but again, all I needed: a cup of coffee, a toasted bread and a croissant.

First off, let me say, if I can give 0 or negative stars, I would. As soon as I walked into the hotel, there was a smell in the hotel lobby. After checking in and going to the room i immediatelywalked back down and told them to CANCEL the reservation. and that same smell was throughout the hotel. Very disgusting. The elevators are very dirty, and the hallways had trash and debris all up and down the hall. Once I went into the room, the door to the room wouldn't shut, and you had to lift the door and slam it to get it to latch. Didn't give any sense of security what so ever. Then, I inspected the rest of the room and found it was dirty and disgusting. Very dissatisfied. There were stains and burn marks on the ceiling of them walls. There are rough spots on this shower. Head The bathtub had rust spots. There were areas on the wall in the bathroom and under the TV where they had just patched it and not repaired properly. Dirty windows and windows seals. The lamp was dirty and stained as well as the ironing board. The ironing board had very nasty, disgusting stains all over it . The bed frames were cracked and scratched very outdated. The bedding on the beds is very poor. The floors were dirty after they said they had cleaned the room. The smell that permeated through the lobby and the hallways was in the room as well. I could go on and on. I wasn't about to have my kids sleep in this room or hotel. I advise you DO NOT STAY HERE AT ALL. Read the reviews. This hotel is not at all anyway clean and isn't a nice place to stay.

The hotel was quiet, which allowed me to have a restful night's sleep. I woke up refreshed and ready for the day! Our bed was extremely comfortable! It was the best sleep I've had in a long time. I woke up feeling refreshed.
