Never made it out to the hotel for Easter weekend, but I had to cancel my reservation for the weekend due to the Canadian Government travel advisory. Despite the policy, VERONICA was able to work with my rep from Hotels.ca and cancel the reservation but also get me a full refund! I am sorry to have cancelled the reservation but safety had to come first. Veronica’s understanding and help with my Hotels.ca rep really went a long way in getting my money back for this trip. Thank you Veronica, and my family and I will be staying at your hotel in the future when there is no advisory. Stay safe everyone!

Overall a very good stay! Staff were helpful and friendly and the room was clean and bigger than expected. A little rougher of an area location-wise, but the third-party shuttle service made getting to and from Manhattan more convenient (though their limited pickup times made for very long days in the city without making other arrangements). They had some issues with their fire alarms on the last day of my stay (they kept going off throughout the night) and there didn't seem to be any offered solution but staff were at least apologetic.

I had a truly awful experience at this hotel, and I feel compelled to share it to prevent future guests from facing similar issues. From the moment I arrived, my stay was marred by a series of disturbing problems, including what seemed like discriminatory treatment. 1. Unpleasant Odor: On the first day, we immediately noticed a very odd and unpleasant smell in our room. We had to spray air freshener just to make it bearable. This set the tone for the rest of the stay, as things only worsened from there. 2. Fire Alarm and Unprofessional Behavior: On our third day, the fire alarm began going off. I called the front desk to confirm whether it was a real emergency, and they assured me it was just a drill and there was no need to evacuate. However, just five minutes later, I received another call stating that despite the "Do Not Disturb" sign on my door, they needed to enter the room for cleaning. According to the staff, this was required by New Jersey law. Reluctantly, I agreed. When they entered, I witnessed them cleaning the bathroom counters and floors with the same towels provided to guests. They were even using bath towels to clean the floors, which was utterly disgusting. This level of cleanliness was unacceptable and a serious hygiene concern. 3. State Official Visit – Unclear Credentials and Discrimination: The next day, I was told that someone from the state had to inspect my room. The supposed "state official" arrived, claiming to be from the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs. When I asked to see their credentials, he was unable to provide anything beyond an ID card around his neck, which he insisted I could not photograph. To make things even more unsettling, every single staff member I encountered, including the alleged state official, was Indian. This may seem irrelevant, but the lack of transparency and the peculiar nature of these events left me feeling very uncomfortable, especially when I was not given the courtesy of knowing the name or title of the manager. 4. Lack of Hot Breakfast and Misleading Advertising: The hotel also misrepresented its breakfast offerings. They advertise a "hot breakfast" and encourage guests to come down for it, but all that was provided was a waffle maker, along with some fruit, muffins, and cold options. There were no hot meal options at all, which was very misleading given their promotion. 5. Early Checkout and Unresolved Issues: I chose to check out a full day early due to these ongoing issues. Just ten minutes before I left, I received a call from a staff member asking why I was checking out. I pointed out that if she was not the manager, she wouldn't have been informed about my complaints. She seemed unaware of the issues, which only further demonstrated how poorly managed the hotel is. Overall, this was by far the worst hotel experience I have ever had. From poor hygiene practices and deceptive advertising to discriminatory undertones and unprofessional staff behavior, I felt completely disrespected during my stay. I will never return to this hotel and strongly advise others to avoid it as well.

What all can I say besides avoid this place and save your money? First I'll start with the pros: Food choices nearby aren't bad and a good laundromat if you need it: Bubbles 2 Laundromat. Cons: - Location isn't bad but isn't the easiest getting in and out of the hotel. - Breakfast is very minimal and there's another charge if you take the food to your room for privacy??? - Staff: Now I will say front staff behind the counter seem nice but also seem very oblivious to what actually is going on. The worst part is their housekeeping staff, they are rude, loud, pushy, obnoxious, impatient and do not understand what privacy means at all. We had a DO NOT DISTURB sign on our door the entire stay and they came into the room not once but TWICE. Once while we were gone (we didn't ask them to come in) and once while we were there! Our room was an ADA room and let me tell you, besides the bench for my elderly mother whom I'm traveling with there was NOTHING ADA about that room. The lip in and out of the bathroom, the shower head was hanging off the wall as you can see in photos, and there was little to no lighting in the bathroom at all. (Room 113) I highly recommend you avoid this hotel because even the nice front desk staff doesn't make it worth.

I will be back in the future to write a more detailed review. For now, let me warn you if you are looking for reviews about this hotel. Stay away from this place. Do not even think about staying at this place. Simply one of the most disgusting places we have ever stayed in our entire lives. There are RATS in the room. Yes, you read that right. RATS, plural! We saw the rats the moment we walked into the room. And let me tell you something. When you see rats in your room, you don't just want to change rooms. You want to change hotels, immediately. But of course. The hotel refused to refund the amount we paid for our stay. They refused to give us any assistance. The Agoda app, which we used to make this reservation, is another thing you should avoid at all costs. They gave us zero assistance in our case. They simply did nothing to help us. I understand that you may be researching hotel prices, and this one appeared to you with an attractive price. Please trust me. IT'S NOT WORTH IT. Spend a little more, but stay in a better place.
