For local users searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in the Jersey City / NYC Area, the Days Inn by Wyndham Jersey City / NYC Area, located at 750 Tonnelle Ave, Jersey City, NJ 07307, USA, and reachable via phone at (201) 420-9040 or mobile at +1 201-420-9040, may appear as an option. However, it is crucial to provide an objective introduction based on available public feedback, which largely paints a concerning picture of this establishment. This detailed overview will cover the hotel's environment, services, features, and some insights into potential promotional information, all synthesized from customer reviews to offer a comprehensive understanding for potential guests.
The environment of the Days Inn by Wyndham Jersey City / NYC Area, as described by guests, is a significant area of concern. Upon arrival, visitors are immediately confronted with a fundamental logistical challenge: very limited parking. There are reportedly only seven parking spaces available, a number that is grossly insufficient for a hotel catering to guests, especially those potentially traveling by car. Compounding this issue, guests who manage to secure one of these scarce spots then face a physical hurdle – the necessity of climbing three flights of outdoor stairs to access the hotel. This accessibility issue alone could be a major deterrent for many, particularly those with luggage, mobility challenges, or families with young children. Beyond the initial arrival, the internal environment of the hotel also receives strong criticism. Numerous reviews point to a pervasive and unpleasant odor throughout the property. The lobby and hallways are frequently described as having an "awful smell," which only intensifies within the guest rooms, characterized as a "stale, musty odor." This persistent unpleasant smell contributes significantly to an overall feeling of uncleanliness and discomfort, detracting from any potential for a welcoming atmosphere. The cumulative effect of these environmental factors suggests that the hotel struggles to maintain a pleasant and accessible setting for its guests.
Regarding services, the Days Inn by Wyndham Jersey City / NYC Area appears to fall significantly short of basic hotel industry standards. Room service, or rather the lack thereof, is a recurring complaint. Guests have reported that despite requesting fresh towels and other basic amenities, no one showed up to clean or restock their rooms for the entire duration of their stay. This indicates a severe deficiency in housekeeping and a general disregard for guest comfort and the upkeep of the premises. This absence of regular room servicing contributes directly to the feeling of the place being poorly maintained and unkempt. Furthermore, interactions with hotel management have also been a point of contention. One particularly troubling account details a guest's attempt to address issues with the manager, who reportedly challenged the guest's claims and subsequently hung up the phone. Such an unhelpful and dismissive response from management reflects a significant problem in customer relations and problem resolution, suggesting a lack of willingness to address guest concerns or improve the service experience. The overall impression of the staff's engagement, as perceived by guests, is that they are "not interested in providing a decent experience," which is a critical failing for any hospitality establishment. This level of service, or lack thereof, directly impacts guest satisfaction and the hotel's reputation.
The features offered at the Days Inn by Wyndham Jersey City / NYC Area also contribute to the generally negative guest experience. The complimentary breakfast, often a standard and appreciated amenity at many budget-friendly hotels, is a significant disappointment here. Descriptions of the breakfast include "extremely limited options" and "tasteless muffins provided in paper bags." Guests report a distinct lack of variety, freshness, or hygiene in the breakfast offerings. This significantly diminishes the value of a 'free' breakfast, as it fails to meet basic expectations for quality and presentation. Beyond breakfast, the fundamental features of the rooms themselves are implicitly affected by the general lack of maintenance. While specific details about in-room amenities like beds, TVs, or Wi-Fi are not explicitly detailed as problems beyond the pervasive smell, the overall sense of uncleanliness and lack of upkeep suggests that even standard features may not be adequately maintained or presented. The very limited parking and the requirement to climb outdoor stairs are also significant functional features, albeit negative ones, that directly impact the convenience and accessibility of the hotel for guests. The combination of these underwhelming or problematic features contributes to the perception that the hotel does not offer good value for money, regardless of its pricing tier. Guests consistently advise others to "Save yourself the frustration and book elsewhere," underscoring the severity of these operational deficiencies.
Given the overwhelmingly negative feedback, any promotional information for the Days Inn by Wyndham Jersey City / NYC Area, especially when targeting "Hotels Near Of Me" users, would need to be critically assessed. It is evident from numerous reviews that the hotel's current condition and operational practices fall far short of what consumers expect from a reputable brand like Days Inn or Wyndham. Direct quotes from guests, such as "To say this place is a disaster is putting it mildly," "This was literally like a bad dream," and "Would Never Come Back!", indicate a severe disconnect between advertised expectations and the actual guest experience. Therefore, any promotional efforts would need to address these fundamental issues. Simply advertising proximity to New York City or affordability would be insufficient without a significant overhaul of the hotel's physical state, service quality, and management responsiveness. For a hotel to attract and retain guests, especially in a competitive market like Jersey City/NYC, it needs to deliver on basic promises of cleanliness, comfort, and attentive service. The current state, as described by guests, suggests that the hotel is struggling to meet even these fundamental expectations. Without substantial improvements across all aspects – from facility maintenance and cleanliness to staff training and management oversight – it would be challenging for the Days Inn by Wyndham Jersey City / NYC Area to genuinely appeal to discerning local users searching for reliable accommodation.
In conclusion, while the Days Inn by Wyndham Jersey City / NYC Area may appear in searches for "Hotels Near Of Me," an objective look at customer experiences reveals significant shortcomings. The hotel environment is hampered by severe parking limitations, accessibility issues, and a pervasive unpleasant odor. Services are reported as practically nonexistent, particularly in housekeeping, and customer interactions with management have been highly unsatisfactory. Basic features like breakfast are consistently described as poor quality. Given the consistent and strong negative feedback, potential guests are strongly advised to consider these factors when making their accommodation choices. This hotel, as currently described by its patrons, presents a challenging guest experience that may not align with the expectations of those seeking a comfortable and well-maintained stay.

Get directionsTo say this place is a disaster is putting it mildly. I have always been a fan of Days Inn but I cannot believe this one is open to the public. There is not enough room for me to explain everything so please know all the reviews u read are accurate. They said the manager would b in on Monday so I called him and he challenged everything I said then hung up. At the very start if u get one of the 7 parking spaces u then have to climb 3 flights of outdoor stairs. I must have had over 200 hotel stays in the past between work and leisure and have never experienced this. This was literally like a bad dream. There is no way anyone from the Days or Wyndham corp office has visited and approved this horror movie setting advertised as a hotel!
Mar 31, 2025 · Cain Newton“Terrible Stay - Would Never Come Back!” I recently stayed at Days Inn and it was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had. Right from the moment I walked in, there was an awful smell in the lobby and hallway, which only got worse in the room. It was a stale, musty odor that made the whole room feel unclean and uncomfortable. Room service was practically nonexistent. Despite asking for fresh towels and basic amenities, no one showed up to clean or restock the room during my entire stay. It felt like they just didn’t care about the guests or keeping the place tidy. The breakfast was another disappointment. The options were extremely limited, and the food was provided in paper bags, tasteless muffins. There was barely any choice, and it didn’t feel fresh or hygienic. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this Days Inn to anyone. It was uncomfortable, poorly maintained, and the staff clearly wasn’t interested in providing a decent experience. Save yourself the frustration and book elsewhere!
Nov 04, 2024 · zulqarnain sajidThis place is absolutely disgusting. Unfortunately it was our only choice to stay safe for New Year's Eve and not have to drive. I wish we could have just left after seeing the room. Roaches everywhere! The whole building is filthy. When I mentioned the bugs to the manager in the morning he told me it was the first time he's heard of this! After looking at EVERY review, I can definitely say he was lying. DO NOT waste your money in this filth hole.
Jan 09, 2025 · Steve MattisonThis hotel could have been good in the day but it's beyond it use..Seemed like they were moving out a long term Tennant and the hallway smelled like cat urine. Our room for the most part was clean , ripped curtain and the floor could have been swept better. No coffee in the room and the only thing they offered was coffee from a machine...Was convenient to get into the City...
Nov 17, 2024 · George MillerI'm gonna start with each rating. Rooms: The room didn't seem bad at first. Outdated bedding, lights were falling apart, mirrors weren't even fastened down safely, and only got 2 pillows for the king sized bed. The problems arose more and more as I stayed. Holes everywhere including some walls where people were fitting incense sticks and a remote that looked like it got dipped in snot and half wiped off. I've only been here for about 24 hours and have killed upwards of 12 roaches of varying sizes, including one in my bed. Only UPSIDE was that the AC worked like a dream, assuming it's not mold laced on the inside. Service: It's would be a disservice to call that service. "Complimentary breakfast" was an oatmeal bar, mini muffin, and a bottle of orange juice. I asked for roach spray AT LEAST and not only did the front desk worker not even check, he just flat out said they don't have that or any kind of insect spray. Cleaning service only touched my trash and that was all. It seems like barely 2 people even work here. Location: Location isn't terrible. Bus stops nearby if you don't care to walk a mile to get to it to head to downtown NJ or NY. Alot is within relative walking distance if you don't mind the steps and the uphill battle to get on the main road. Only issue was the place just looked sketchy in general. TLDR; Overall: 1/5 stars. Mid quality, roach infested rooms, with garbage service, and somewhat close to the main reason you'd even want to be here. Not anywhere close to the price you pay to stay.
