Holiday Inn Express & Suites Bronx - Nyc by IHG

Front desk was rude. Room was not as advertised in the picture. I’ve never had a hotel room without a single cup in it like this. I went down for breakfast at 8am and the food looked to be very very old even that early. Maid knocked on my door and spoke 0 English. Needed to use a translator to ask me a question. I don’t usually leave reviews but this place made me make an exception.

I’ve enjoyed my stay! The staff are friendly and accommodating and the rooms are clean and comfortable. It’s a stones throw from Little Italy: amenities, grocery, restaurants, and the beautiful Saint Carmel church. Also, it’s easy to navigate the transportation system to Brooklyn, Manhattan, and/or wherever else you want to explore.

The place was new so I thought I'd give it a shot. The room was on the small side and came with half a toilet paper roll and 1 tissue remaining. As a IHG platinum member I didn't get an upgrade nor a welcome amenity. The morning check out experience was horrible as there was no one at the front desk until an employee had to reluctantly slide her feet to the front desk from the breakfast area. I wanted to update my payment method before check out and she said she didn't know if she could do that (it's pretty standard at a hotel). After typing silently for a few minutes she goes to the back without explanation because apparently she needs the managers help with this. I tried to call and just do it over the phone to be told I had already checked out and would have to come back. Failure by management and the front desk staff.

Don’t let those fake 5 star reviews fool you. Coming from a 13 year diamond member this place is the worst HIE I’ve ever been to. The rooms are small, the toiletries were not filled, the breakfast isn’t until 7 (which is when I had to be at work), and the day I did do the breakfast there was no food. The fridge where there is usually yogurt, cream cheese, milk, etc just had an old expired carton of half and half. The owner is very rude and is always at the counter to show you how awful he is. Also he refused to let me check out early and made me contact the diamond elite line. Almost like kidnapping. Don’t stay here. Please don’t.

Couldn’t even check in, required $150 and wasn’t able to use my credit card. I went to a nearby hotel and was able to check in and use my card with no problems. I still haven’t received a refund for my stay
