This was a really nice holiday inn. Rooms are a good size, there's a restaurant on the main floor, the cleaning staff was in point, and the staff is friendly. The parking does kinda suck if there's some sort of dinner rush hour and I blame the locals for not knowing how to park between the lines. My one gripe is that I didn't have hot water in my shower the entire time. Yes I put in a maintenance request but the water didn't get any hotter. Maybe eventually it'll get fixed.

The Holiday Inn New London - Mystic Area distinguishes itself through several key features that contribute to its appeal. The hotel's affiliation with IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group) implies a certain standard of quality and service, aligning with a global brand. Reviews frequently highlight the spaciousness of the rooms and the comfort of the beds. The presence of an on-site restaurant and bar is a significant convenience, especially for guests who prefer to dine within the hotel premises after a day of sightseeing or business. The indoor pool provides a valuable recreational option regardless of the weather.

Customer service, particularly the front desk staff and cleaning staff, is frequently praised for being "friendly and helpful" and "on point." Guests have positively noted the cleanliness of the rooms, with many finding their accommodations to be clean, quiet, and comfortable despite the hotel needing "some repairs" in certain areas. This indicates that while the property may show some signs of wear, the cleanliness standards are generally maintained. The hotel also offers connecting/adjoining rooms, which can be a valuable feature for families or groups traveling together, subject to availability.

However, it is important to acknowledge that some guests have reported issues, including a lack of hot water in showers, which, while reported to maintenance, did not always get immediately fixed. There have also been instances of negative experiences with specific staff members regarding billing disputes and customer service, including rudeness and being hung up on when trying to resolve issues, as well as problems with follow-up from corporate contacts. These isolated but significant complaints indicate that while many staff members provide excellent service, there can be inconsistencies. The hotel's policy regarding holding or charging $100 deposits needs to be clearly communicated and processed efficiently to avoid guest dissatisfaction.

This location was clean and nice. We had problems with our original room but front desk was very nice and moved us to a different room which us very comfortable and clean. My only complain here is after I left, the front desk told me that my card would hold $100 in case anything happens or we buy want anything to eat they will take it from there. We did no used anything but yet my card was charge the $100. I called spoke to Richard and he was very rude from the beginning didn’t seem like he wanted to be there. His name was Richard I explained to him that I was charge and he said let me explain as he started to talk and explain that my card was going to be charge $100 I said oh okay so you’re are saying it will be charge but then refunded if we don’t used anything? He stopped me and said to me are you going to let me talk ? So I can explain. I said well I just want to understand that part before you continue to speak you don’t have to be so rude. I asked him I want to speak to a manager and Richard hung up on me. I called again and a female picked up who then transferred me to corporate Ashley from the managing team at corporate said she didn’t know who Richard was or had the list of who was working there. She said she didn’t know anything about that location she was going to give me the number of a manager on that district, she gave me the number when I call it was the wrong number. What a bad experience and so unprofessional workers. Richard should not be at the front desk if he does not have any manners.

One star because zero isn’t an option. Absolute dump paint is chipping everywhere after they sloppily painted over all the issues. Barely cleaned before we got here so all the sides of the room and corners have little bits of whatever they didn’t care to vacuum up shower head plate is falling off the wall and the ceiling in the bathroom is crumbling. All the furniture is chipped and has paint splashed on it. You walk right into the room to two massive divots that they carpeted over and advertise that you can request a roll away bed then don’t have any here. Carpet in the hallway is all ripped and pulling up. The standards here are way below average and for $350 a night it’s an absolute rip off we will never be using a holiday inn anywhere in the country ever again

Hotel definitely needs to upgrade the rooms. I was really impressed with the service provided by front desk agent Ana V.(very customer focused and polite) whereas another young girl from India needs to be taught about customer service and she was without uniform. Do not eat breakfast at this hotel. I suggest ownership to invest in staff trainings and upgrading the hotel as it has a lot of potential. good luck!

Typical Holiday inn but with a pretty neat restaurant and bar for some excellent food and drinks. Service was top notch, thanks to Cara, and honestly some of the best dinner we had while in the area for a few days. Our room was clean, but I've stayed in cleaner Holiday inn hotels. Not complaining just saying it could be a little better. The staff was very nice with zero complaints on attitude or courtesy. The only bad thing is the lack of a complimentary breakfast, and we're honors members to boot. Breakfast was cold, out of eggs, waffle mix and gravy. I'm sorry but if you're charging $15.95 per person, you better have some food out! Like I said on my hotel review, I'll eat downtown at Muddy cafe. Other than that, this is a nice hotel overall. Cheers!
