Looks nice. The hotel has run out of towels for 2 days. We have been requesting since getting checked in. Air drying after a shower in humidity is not fun. Wasnt told the pool would be closed for repairs for our entire stay. Pool was a deciding factor with 2 kids. I would have picked a different hotel. Other issue is staff doesn't communicate with each other. I would not recommend

For us Louisianians, the Homewood Suites by Hilton New Orleans French Quarter offers a compelling option, whether we're in town for a long-term work project, a family visit to the city, or even a temporary lodging solution during home repairs. Its suitability for locals stems from several key aspects that cater directly to our needs.
First off, the "extended stay" model with full kitchens in every suite is a huge advantage. As locals, we appreciate the ability to prepare our own meals, save on dining out, and maintain a sense of normalcy, especially if we're staying for more than just a couple of nights. Having a full-sized fridge, microwave, and dishwasher truly makes it feel like a "home away from home," a sentiment highly valued by those of us who appreciate practical comforts.
Secondly, the value proposition is hard to beat. The complimentary hot breakfast, often praised for its quality (hello, pulled pork!), adds significant savings to any stay. The free evening socials (Mon-Thurs) are another bonus that can help reduce meal costs. While valet parking is a surcharge, the convenience it offers in the French Quarter is often worth it for peace of mind, knowing your vehicle is secured.
Furthermore, the location is a sweet spot for locals. Being "just a couple blocks from Bourbon Street" means you're close enough to enjoy the French Quarter's vibrant life without being directly in the thick of its constant noise. It offers easy walking access to the Quarter, but also places you conveniently near streetcar lines for exploring other parts of New Orleans, like the CBD for business or entertainment at the Superdome. The robust security measures, requiring key card access, also provide an added layer of comfort and safety that we, as residents, definitely appreciate.
While it's important to check on specific amenities like pool availability if that's a deciding factor, the overall offering of spacious, clean, and well-equipped suites, coupled with value-added services, makes Homewood Suites by Hilton New Orleans French Quarter an excellent and practical choice for any Louisiana resident needing a temporary base in our beloved city.

Jun 09, 2025 · Nickie DerenThis Homewood Suites is a very high value hotel in the French Quarter. It’s a pretty large hotel overall that takes up a whole block. There are plenty of rooms and seating in the common areas. The room itself was very spacious with a king size bed, couch, desk, and full kitchen. It was certainly more than I needed. There are also amenities such as a small swimming pool, basic gym, pool table, and complementary breakfast. The breakfast was a buffet consisting of eggs, potatoes, yogurt, meats, and other items. I especially enjoyed their pulled pork. I could tell everything in this hotel was clean, well-maintained, and safe. You actually have to use your room key just to enter the main doors of the building. The location is also very optimal, as it’s just a couple blocks from Bourbon Street. If you want an affordable, high-value hotel close to all the action, this is the place to stay.
Mar 22, 2025 · FreniteThe shower head is rusty and there is obvious mildew in the corners of the shower. Housekeeping service is every other day, and they only gave us two towels for two female occupants. And that’s after pointing out that we had not had any housekeeping services at 5:30pm on our third day. Obviously, that’s not going to work. The pool area was full of construction debris and an area marked off with caution tape and the pool was nasty. There were also no pool towels available poolside. We had to go to the fitness center for towels, which were only hand towels. Breakfast was below standard for any Hilton property we have stayed at and when I complained, I was told that “the menu changes daily”….the only change was from sausage links to sausage patties. Seriously. I’m not even sure why Hilton would put their name on this property. The ONLY positive thing I have to say about this hotel is that the location is GREAT. Hilton needs to get this mess cleaned up quickly because they are going to ruin their name and lose business based on this.
Jun 01, 2025 · Michelle AdcockWe loved the suite and the location... about 3 blocks from Bourbon Street. We parked in the garage and walked everywhere. We also used the street car. They did not have wash clothes on demand when needed. Staff was awesome. I would definitely choose this location again
Jun 11, 2025 · Crystal LoveFirst off, we were not told when booking that we'd have to pay 52.50 a day for parking in the garage. Secondly, the parking attendant reeked of weed and when we went out to get something out of the car, he was in his own car in the garage smoking weed for at least 5 mins before he came to help us. To do laundry, you have to get a card from the front desk and they only have a few so if they are being used, you have to wait until one is returned. And they had no laundry detergent available for purchase. The pool was closed the entire weekend and the option given was to walk 3 blocks to another Hilton property to swim there. When the pool did reopen on Monday, our last day in town, there were no clean pool towels and the pool was very cold. Even though there are signs stating 10 pm til 6 am are quiet hours, large groups of people were allowed to congegrate in the lobby and seating areas for the breakfast until past 3 am playing loud music and yelling and carrying on. The fitness center was not accessible by our cards the first day and a half. There were several annoying things in the room such as the refrigerator making a very loud noise everytime the motor started running, the toilet paper holder wasn't installed correctly causing the roll to constantly fall off, the toilet was not secured well and shook when you sat on it. And the ceiling fan didn't work in one of our rooms. We let them know about this when we were leaving so they could let maintenance know. We didn't really want a bunch of people in and out of the room while we were gone doing things and didn't want to have to switch rooms....especially since the hotel was fully booked the first night. Unless major improvements were made, we wouldn't go back. The front desk staff were very friendly and apologetic that we weren't informed of the fee for parking.
