This was a great hotel. My only complaint is the pool being inaccessible. No stairs in, just ladders. And if you have a disability, their only real option is a crane device which not every disability needs. Otherwise this hotel was great. Great food and location and terrific room! Even enjoyed the comfort of the bed which can be hard in hotels.

Jun 17, 2025 · Tyler HamiltonWe love the Royal Sonesta on Bourbon Street. It is our home away from home when we visit New Orleans. We have stayed at some other hotels in the French Quarter and this is definitively our favorite. The location is terrific and in the heart of the French Quarter. The decor has a very old-world elegant charm. The pool with a bar and waiter service is great. And the people are also great. We loved talking to Malcolm and Caleb throughout each day as we came and went from the hotel. Desire, one of the restaurants there, has great food, our rooms are always clean and spacious. Water temperature sometimes varies a bit, but that is a minor item. I almost can't imagine staying at another hotel in the French Quarter.
Jun 17, 2025 · Keith WagnerThe hotel was nicely decorated and the room was large and comfortable. We had a double queen room with a balcony facing the pool (a must, unless you want to hear the 24/7 noise from Bourbon Street; note though that people in other rooms might linger in the balconied areas so you might hear noise, security shut down some loud drunk people when we called the front desk). The beds were comfortable. However: our room was not cleaned until we asked them to do it; the telephone in the room did not work and they never replaced it; we had to ask for extra toilet paper; the pool was supposed to be heated but it wasn't (also: it is very difficult to get into, you go down a ladder rather than stepping down into it normally). Be aware: they say they have "room service" which is actually literally just a pizza from next door, delivered without plates, cutlery, or napkins. Not what you expect in a 4 star hotel. The coffee shop downstairs was nice. If you are a vegetarian, forget eating in the French Quarter. The location: right on Bourbon Street, which turns out to be a chaotic mess of drunk people 24/7. It's much nicer in other parts of the city, unless you plan on binge drinking, consider a hotel elsewhere and visit other neighborhoods and attractions such as the museums, botanical garden, and the shops on Magazine Street. There's a Cafe Beignet across the street from the hotel, but they have no espresso, unless you want an espresso Martini, as we were told. Go to get breakfast at one of their other cafes.
Mar 27, 2025 · Miriam Margarita BasilioLocated right on the crazy bourbon street this hotel grabbed our interest with their cool interior decor and location. The rooms are nice and the service staff were able to hold our luggage in safe keeping until we were able to check in. Also upon returning, I asked for earplugs because I've heard that bourbon street can be quite loud at night (no surprise). The ladies actually asked if I'd prefer a quieter interior room instead and they happily set me up with a room where I can't hear a peep of anything outside. Lovely staff and couldn't believe how accommodating they were. Will definitely return here next time we visit.
Apr 16, 2025 · Michael PadinSadly the only thing I can say was nice was the room itself, however this company takes no responsibility for their actions. I left a very expensive camera in the hotel room. I understand I should have double checked. BUT for me to then immediately call the following day when I got home and I was told to call back during the week. That’s fine, THEN I was told they had it and to fill out a form on it to be shipped in which I never got any further information. I was ran around in circles on phone calls for over a MONTH. I EVEN SHOWED UP!!! they said they had it and then suddenly they don’t have it and only wanna give me one free night stay? That’s bull crap. That does not make up for the thousands of dollars I lost. I know I should have been more careful BUT DO NO SAY YOU HAVE IT AND THEN ALL OF THE SUDDEN ITS “stolen” I will NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN and never recommend this play to anyone unless you want to be lied to and cheated out of ur personal belongings. I have called countless times and everyone is always “busy” or “they will call me back” and then never get a call. I will be commenting more on this and will be posting on other platforms because I am disgusted with the behavior and irresponsibility and lack of accountability by the staff here.
