Clean, older but well maintained hotel located in the southern perimeter of Manhattan's K-town; convenient location, walking distance from Penn Station & local subway lines, a few blocks from the ESB; rooms are clean but small, decent but low platform style beds with protruding wooden frame corners (watch your shins!). WARNING: refridgerator is housed in a cabinet directly above the center nightstand. The corners of the cabinet are pointed & sharp. I accidentally bumped my head into one of the corners. Fortunately, I sustained only a minor cut & bruise but it could've been much worse. The cabinet hangs low so it is very susceptible to head/face injury. Very poorly designed and management should consider removing/relocating it. Stayed only 1 night. Walls are thin but quiet street. Bathroom is updated & clean, nice shower & good water pressure. Free coffee/tea & cookies in the lobby. Price was reasonable considering inflated Manhattan hotel rates/value.

Mar 25, 2025 · John KimThe Hyatt Herald Square Hotel is perfectly situated in Midtown Manhattan, offering unbeatable access to all parts of New York City. After flying in from Germany to JFK, I took the train to Penn Station, and the hotel was conveniently less than a 10-minute walk away. The staff is always attentive and accommodating, ensuring I make the most of my stay. The rooms feature modern amenities and offer stunning city views, creating a comfortable and stylish atmosphere. Although the gym is compact and located in the basement, it’s well-equipped for maintaining a workout routine during your stay. One of my favorite amenities is the basement ice machine—I love having ice available whenever I need it. I’m incredibly grateful to have found the Hyatt Herald Square Hotel because it offers everything I need for productive work meetings and relaxing downtime. This hotel is an excellent choice for both business and leisure travelers visiting NYC.
Jan 17, 2025 · Raymond GonzalesNever stay here! How does a hotel only have one elevator in service! It took forever to get to your room or down to lobby! The guests and staff using same hotel. Then they say they upgraded me only to look out to see nothing but old buildings. The rooms so small and the service was not the best. I have never had such a horrible experience at a hotel. Then they charge $50 for early check in and I didn’t get there until 1:30. When check in is at 3. Resort fees for what? Did not know they had any when I booked. AVOID THIS HOTEL!!

Dec 25, 2024 · CTJ CutzIt's hard to rate the service because the employees did a phenomenal job. The rooms are clean, and check-in was easy. My issue is that both elevators went down during my stay. They broke on Monday morning, and they're still not working at the time of this writing, which is Wednesday. The staff did an amazing job of carrying guests' luggage up and down 17 flights of stairs , as well as housekeeping, who also lugged their carts, linens, and laundry up 17 flights of stairs. I'm almost 60 years old, my room was on the 12th floor. It was a hike after walking around Manhattan sightseeing all day. I thought that they should have opened the bar early ( it's not open until 5) for the many guests that were stranded in the lobby, but they didn't. Otherwise, I enjoyed my stay.
