Life Hotel New York

I would like to mention one of your employees at the bakery on the ground floor of the hotel. Her name is RUK. She greets people in the morning and makes coffee. She is a very nice and helpful person. The coffee she made for me the past two days was excellent. It's wonderful that you employ people like her! Thank you. I will add more info when my stay is over.——- When I arrived at the hotel last year, it was right after you reopened following the COVID pandemic. The hotel is so nice, in a central location, and the staff is amazing. I came back this year with my whole family. We had three rooms and enjoyed every moment. The hotel isn't very luxurious, but it's comfortable and aesthetically pleasing, the beds are cozy, the linens are clean, and generally, the attention to cleanliness is noticeable. What’s most special about this hotel is the wonderful team of people who make every guest feel truly at home, far from home. A huge, heartfelt thank you to Chris, Rick, Dan, Russell, Ruk and one of a kind - Francisco, who are hardworking, friendly, and truly did everything to make us feel comfortable. Thank you so much, dear team. We will return to this hotel again and again, only because of you. You make this business, and truly deserve all the appreciation!!!!

I'm writing this review at 3am as I lay freezing my ass off under two layers of blankets and my coat. There are no temperature displays for the A/C, so they can gaslight you into thinking that changing the temperature is doing something. The room is maybe 2 degrees warmer than when I entered, and that's being generous. Someone came in to take a look and I was told that this was as high as the 'heat' went. The hotel limits the temperature so they can skimp on money. The radiators in most of the rooms is broken, too. If you run cold, like me, you're screwed. The hotel is also located on a loud, busy road, with construction. I'm exhausted but I most likely won't be falling asleep tonight. Would not return. Save your money and pay attention to the low star reviews, especially ones talking abt the lack of heating. I wish I did.

Our five-night stay was OK until the whole experience was ruined by an incident at checkout. The space in the hotel lobby and around the front desk is very tight. There are exposed steel columns painted black. When we were checking out, my jacket touched one of the columns and it was covered by oily black paint! Apparently they were painting the columns and did not bother to put up a wet paint sign! I was wearing a new blue puffed jacket and it is completely ruined with the right sleeve covered in black paint. I reached out to hotel management. They have since put up wet paint signs but offered no compensation for the damage to my jacket. It is a terrible experience. Other than that, the location is convenient but the guest room is very tight. Our window is facing directly an exterior stairway that we had to keep the shutters closed all the time.

Some friends stayed here as an affordable option where they were visiting in town from out of the country. It was a perfect spot, very centrally located and really beautiful, big enough rooms to put down your bags and be able to walk around, which in New York is quite the feat for a reasonable price. Will recommend it again.

My first time at this hotel and it was phenomenal for my 3 day stay in NYC! The lobby was so charming, clean and smelt great! I'm all about detail and cleanliness and they were spot on with the room, a spacious king suite! And to top it off the staff were so accommodating and friendly. Francisco is a long time employee and his dedication shows through his work and hospitality. Thank you buddy!
