JW Marriott Essex House New York

We had a wonderful stay at the JW Marriott Essex House! The location is fantastic, making it easy to explore the city. The service was exceptional—the staff went above and beyond to make my daughter’s birthday special with a thoughtful gift, a handwritten note, and a balloon waiting in our room upon arrival. It truly made the experience feel personal and memorable. Throughout our stay, it felt like every employee was eager to help, always attentive and accommodating. The only reason for four stars instead of five is that while everything was great, the rooms could have been a bit more clean. That said, we’d absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it!

As a wedding photographer, I’ve had the opportunity to capture weddings at JW Marriott Essex House multiple times, and it’s always an incredible experience. This venue perfectly blends classic elegance with a timeless New York feel. Overlooking Central Park, it offers an iconic setting, with its historic Art Deco interiors and beautifully designed ballroom—ideal for couples looking for a sophisticated city wedding. The team at Essex House is fantastic—professional, detail-oriented, and always ensuring that everything runs seamlessly. That level of organization makes such a difference in allowing couples to truly enjoy their day. And from a photography perspective, having Central Park just steps away is a huge bonus for capturing stunning portraits. It’s always a pleasure to work here, and I look forward to the next time I get to document a wedding at Essex House.

Great location across from the park. We definitely took advantage of the Titanium status to use the Executive Lounge, which all day long has fresh food, snacks, and friendly service. Great place to have casual meetings and get some work done if you don't want to be trapped in the room. Will be returning for future trips to New York.

Fair warning: you will get spoiled here. Staff was very attentive and friendly. The restaurant in the hotel is a must try. Our suite was the best suite we had in NYC and we visit there often. Terrace in our suite was peaceful and had a great view of the city. The actual suite was very clean and spacious right across. The hotel is across Central Park and close to a shopping mall. I love how they have "the good coffee"in the lobby. I will definitely be back.
