The rooms definitely have wear and tear even in the kings mansion but expected since it's older....my biggest complaint is they don't advertise there's a restaurant literally right down the steps open til 10PM and if your on the floor right above it (like we were) you hear a lot of stomping, slamming and noise ..until about 11pm/midnight. Since there's only steps you hear everything going on down there...for $200 + a night ...a full night's rest would have been nice. Definitely disputing this charge.

The peaceful setting, combined with its accessibility, makes it an attractive choice for both leisure and business travelers seeking a distinctive stay in the Hudson Valley.
King Mansion is characterized by its historic elegance and tranquil environment. As an older property, it exudes a classic charm, offering a departure from the generic feel of modern chain hotels. The surrounding area is designed to provide a serene escape, featuring beautiful, well-maintained gardens where guests can stroll, relax, or find a quiet spot to read. The presence of a cozy outdoor pool further enhances the serene atmosphere, offering a refreshing respite during warmer months. In the evenings, the outdoor spaces transform into an idyllic setting for stargazing, perhaps with a glass of wine, as noted by appreciative guests. While the property embraces its age, which can lead to some expected wear and tear in the rooms, the overall ambiance is one of quiet sophistication and historical allure. The architectural details and classic decor contribute to a sense of stepping back in time, while still offering the comforts expected by today's travelers. The location on Sunnyside Lane places it away from the immediate hustle and bustle, contributing to a more secluded and restful experience.
King Mansion aims to provide a comfortable and memorable stay through a curated selection of services and amenities. While specific details on the number and types of rooms are not explicitly provided in the reviews, the mention of "King's Mansion" rooms suggests various accommodation options, likely including rooms with king-sized beds. Given its historical nature, one can expect a blend of traditional furnishings and modern conveniences. Common amenities often found in similar boutique or historic hotels would include complimentary Wi-Fi, air conditioning, private bathrooms, and a focus on personalized service.
A notable feature of King Mansion is its on-site restaurant. This dining establishment is a significant convenience for guests, especially after a day of exploring. It is open until 10 PM, providing a readily available option for dinner. While the reviews highlight the convenience and general quality of the food, it's worth noting that its proximity to some guest rooms, particularly those directly above it, can lead to noise. This might include sounds from staff movement, door slamming, or general restaurant activity that can persist until late in the evening. For guests sensitive to noise, this is a factor to consider when selecting a room, as there are only steps connecting the levels, which can transmit sound easily. Beyond the on-site dining, the hotel's location also places guests within a short driving distance—approximately seven minutes—of other highly-rated restaurants in Tarrytown, offering a wider variety of culinary experiences.
The outdoor pool, though described as "cozy," is a definite highlight for many guests. It provides a peaceful area for swimming and relaxation, surrounded by the hotel's beautiful gardens. This amenity contributes significantly to the tranquil and leisurely atmosphere of the property. While specific hours for the pool are not detailed, it is generally enjoyed during warmer seasons. Other services often found in properties of this caliber might include daily housekeeping, laundry services, and potentially concierge assistance to help guests plan their local excursions. The emphasis appears to be on creating a serene environment where guests can unwind and enjoy the historical charm of the property.
King Mansion's primary feature is its historical character and the unique experience it offers. Guests who appreciate classic architecture and a sense of stepping back in time will likely find the property very appealing. The beautiful gardens and the quiet outdoor pool are significant draws, fostering a relaxing and romantic atmosphere, as evidenced by a guest who enjoyed a weekend getaway with their partner. The on-site restaurant is a convenient feature, allowing guests to dine without leaving the premises, and the food quality is generally considered good.
However, the hotel's age also comes with certain considerations. The rooms, even within the "King's Mansion" section, may show signs of wear and tear. This is an expected aspect of older, historic properties and should be anticipated by guests. The most significant point of contention highlighted in a review is the noise levels from the restaurant, particularly for rooms located directly above it. The lack of sound dampening between floors, with only steps connecting the levels, means that activity from the restaurant, such as "stomping, slamming, and noise," can be clearly heard until late in the evening (around 11 PM/midnight). This can significantly disrupt a guest's sleep, leading to dissatisfaction, especially given the price point of over $200 per night. The review also pointed out a lack of clear advertising regarding the restaurant's close proximity and potential for noise, which can lead to unexpected discomfort for guests seeking a full night's rest. This suggests that while the hotel aims for a quiet and cozy atmosphere, certain room placements can undermine this goal. Therefore, guests who are light sleepers or prioritize absolute quiet should inquire about room location away from the restaurant when booking.
While specific current promotional offers for King Mansion are not detailed in the provided information, hotels of this nature often engage in various promotional strategies to attract guests. These might include:
Given its historic nature and garden setting, King Mansion likely markets itself as an ideal venue for intimate weddings, private events, and small conferences, offering specialized packages for these occasions. Prospective guests are encouraged to contact the hotel directly or visit their official website to inquire about current promotions and to discuss room preferences, especially regarding noise levels, to ensure the best possible experience for their stay in Tarrytown.

Oct 24, 2023 · JasonI loved this place! I was here to enjoy a weekend with my boyfriend and it was just what we were looking for. It is a quiet place, with a cozy little outdoor pool and beautiful gardens where you can relax or read a good book, and in the evening sit outside to see the stars with a glass of good wine. The restaurant is a good option for dinner, although there are also very good restaurants 7 minutes away by car.
Jul 23, 2020 · Maria ReyesKing's Mansion was amazing. We stayed in one of the Georgian styles room and it was worth it. Goosefeather is right below so getting quality drinks was just down the stairs. The front staff helped whenever we had a question. Breakfast was delicious. Jennifer makes sure everything is well taken care of.
Mar 18, 2020 · Cara WResort fee. I haTe resort fees. I urge everyone to give bad reviews for places that do this. A resort fee is a manipulative way to advertise one price, then charge you more once you're committed. If they expect everyone to pay a "fee", it's not a fee. It's part of the price. Changing the price once you're committed is bad businEss and should be recognized as such. Also, the bed was very cheap and hard. I had a terrible night here.
Jan 20, 2023 · John DoughIn March Of 2021, I brought and treated my wife Kathy and myself for a wonderful weekend stay at the King Mansion at the Tarrytown House Estate On The Hudson!!! We stayed at the King Mansion to celebrate our great love for one another, and to commemorate our Happy Three Year Honeymoon Anniversary. We enjoyed every minute of our experience during our stay at this luxurious and historic mansion. The King Mansion is an absolutely elegant and gorgeous attraction on the Tarrytown House Estate, and was one of my favorite hotel to visit and stay. My wife and I instantaneously fell in love with our warm and cozy room, and we were deeply impressed by the majestic view of the Hudson River, the Mario Cuomo Bridge and the New York City skyline that we were able to see from our rooftop porch. We also enjoyed wearing the bathroom robe and slippers provided by the hotel. It was nicely well made felt very comfortable. The hotel staff were also very welcoming and accommodating. They provided valet parking and helped brought luggage to and from our rooms. Both my wife and I had a wonderful experience at the King Mansion and highly recommend that everyone visit and stay at this beautiful and exquisite estate.
